Our negative experience began when making the first phone call for a delivery; A woman answered the phone and told us to "call back in five minutes". Apparently the person to take down orders was out. When we called back a man answered the first item on our order was a broccoli/cheddar wrap. The man on the other line seemed extremely confused, as if he had never heard the word broccoli before and questioned the item with us many times before we finally asked to speak with someone else. We gave our order to the first woman we had spoke with which is when we discovered the prices on their website greatly differs from the prices on Grub Hub and probably the actual real prices in the diner. (example; home fries were 3.15, but on website were 4.50) and one of them said the wrap could come with a side of Greek salad to which we were told was incorrect. If we wanted a salad instead of fries it would be 1.50 extra. Finally, the delivery man brought us our food. He said the woman on the phone forgot to include the 5$ delivery fee?? We told him to discuss that with her... We are not paying 5$ delivery fee because she told us the total bill on the phone. He angrily left after arguing with us that "Thats not his fault". We later called management to ask about this and they verified there is NO delivery fee. He was trying to get extra money. Extremely unprofessional. Lastly, the food was sub-par at best. To say we were upset with the service would be an understatement. Dont waste your money, New Hyde Park has many great restaurants, we do not feel Skyline is one of them.

Me & my girlfriend went there on a slow day apparently and within minutes of sitting down, several of the male workers in the kitchen came out to sit close enough to us and would not stop starring at her and speaking, apparently about her, in a foreign language (I believe spanish). She of course became uncomfortable and asked to move to another location which they gladly did. Sure enough, the workers all changed tables to be in view of us again. We were very hugry and stayed anyway. We even mentioned it to the waitress and she acknowledged that they do that and she cant say anything to them. We complained to the owner on our way out who said she could not believe that her workers would do something like that. Needless to say, we dont go there anymore. We go to the more decent Omega diner just down the block.

We frequent this diner every week, its a family tradition, we have our favorite waiter, Hector, who is always on the money...the other staff members are equally helpful.... we get catered to our usual table because we are usually a party of 5-6 and come before the dinner rush..the selections are favorable and hearty, we always go for the Italian dinners...never had a bad experience here...and being that its right off Union Turpike, getting to the diner is a slight hassle...if your travelling east bound on Union Turnpike, you have to fanagle a u turn... but its worth the effort...turn that steering wheeel... and pull in, if your good, back in...my favorite dish is the grilled chicken on Greek salad, topped with a vanilla egg cream...yummy

Well as far as the skyline diner goes....its alright at best. Im not a hater or anything but Ill be real with you all. The coffee was old and not very hot. The toast was a little burnt and served with those crappy jelly packets. The corn beef hash was truly nothing to write home about. Most of the reviews are 3 star and I would say they earned every bit of that 3rd star. Would I recommend bringing your family here for a nice Sunday brunch? Definitely not. Would I recommend swinging by at 3 am when your stumbling home drunk after leaving the bar? Abso-freaking-lutely.

Only problem my friends car got towed while we were there. The only thing is they didnt have any idea who came into there private lot and took her car. She is trying to find out right now what happened to it. She doesnt owe any tickets, do now she is reporting it add stolen. When they saw it happening they could have made an announcement that someone with her type odd car is in the process of being towed. No concern whatsoever, and she gored there on a regular basis, but not anymore!!!!

The bathroom is clean but the service is not so good the sugar had stuff in it i told the waiter and he tried to make excuses. I told him I pulled it out of the sugar he put the bottle on another table. Then he brought me sugar packages and that was old it came out in clumps like it was wet at one point. I came here in the past and it was okay but as time go by this place is going down hill quickly. I will be surprised if it stays open more then another year.

I went to have breakfast with family, but got really disappointed with the service and the food. Fries were almost burn, eggs where cold, only orange juice was available, and to top it all up we ask for a raisin bagel and they brought a plane one, when we told them it was a raisin bagel we wanted the waitress stated that they only had plain bagels. In other words the dinner wanted us to eat whatever they wanted not what we order.

All the years Ive been eating here I only had one unfavorable experience -my food order was totally botched - out of many. The matter was resolved and I got a free drink too. This is a staple diner. Food is delicious. You can tell that the cooks take pride in their food. Wait staff is always pleasant. Prices are just right. The diner has perfected their formula for consistently and happy patrons. Im glad they stick to the script!

This place is not bad and not that great to begin with. My order was confused with another order, and I did get my order later and the stewardess had thrown in some extras which was nice of her.. But she kept forgetting to bring few things and had to be reminded few time.. The place was even half filled.. I had 6 on my table.. And we all had the same thought.. Food was huge and perfect..

We waited over 30inutes for our food and then another 15 mins for extra silverware and plates. Food wasnt great either. Usually cornbreads are the best at diners however, here it was stale and was not fresh at all. Toast was cold and hard also. Will never return here!!

Breakfast specials include a small juice. I asked to be upgraded to a large juice. They gave me a small and large juices, because the small "comes with it" . Of course I got charged for the large and the small. There are many better places to go to in the area.

Dirty! I asked for coffee not coffee with floating lettuce and stuck on the cup. I ordered eggs with bacon and toast. They got that part right. After I told the server regarding my coffee he rinses the cup and puts fresh coffee in the same cup. Eww!

This is what a New York diner should be. Generous portions of excellent food delivered quickly to your table by a friendly and personable waitress. The diner was spotless and although it was 3/4 full, it was quiet enough for normal conversation.
