The manager must have this diner confused with the Four Seasons! My friend and I walked into this place yesterday at 3:00 in the afternoon for a late lunch. The place was half empty. While waiting for our food we decided to play a hand of bridge to practice for an upcoming tournament we’ll be attending. When our food arrived, we decided to finish up the card game while eating. The manager came over to us and told us we had to stop playing. I asked him if we were bothering anyone by quietly playing a card game while eating. His reply was that someone might complain. I asked him why anyone would have an objection. He had no reply to that and merely said that no diner would allow you to play cards. I said, “Bull. My friend and I have practiced our bridge game at many fancier establishments and no one has ever, ever objected.” Furthermore I told him that I was insulted as we were paying customers and that it was none of his business what we were doing while eating our lunch as long as we weren’t disturbing anyone. Further, I told him he’d just lost two customers and many more as soon as I posted this review to the thousands of members of the American Contract Bridge League, to my person facebook page, to yelp and to my twitter account. BTW…the place is overpriced and the ham on my sandwich was stringy and tough around the edges.

The WORST dining experience of my life! Egg shells in my food, burnt potatoes, waited 15 minutes for eggs, not to mention the half-eaten egg yolk under my burnt home fries. Lipstick on my moms coffee cup and received attitude for the waiter when we requested a clean cup. The manager refused to take my order off the bill. He and the blonde female owner ganged up on me and told me I waited to long to notify them of my complaints, stating I "ate too much of my food", which was entirely untrue. He refused to hear my complaints and kept saying, "Im the man!" Not sure what he meant by that, but a real man doesnt yell at his women customers and refuse to correct a wrong. If the owne and manager would have been kind and professional, they could have righted a few wrongs that make this dining experience such a pitiful one for customers. Ive never had such a terrible experience in my life! Do NOT EAT HERE!!!!!

I should go back when I am feeling normal to see if the food was really that good. I had scrambled eggs , toast and sauteed spinach. My boyfriend had grilled chicken and liked it a lot. The waiter was pretty brusque and unfriendly at first until my boyfriend started speaking Greek with him. That made things a lot pleasant but they should be nice to non-Greek speaking people too! The bathroom was pretty crude and could definitely use an update, they had duct tape all over the wastebasket which shouts out "Yes! No more paper towel for you!!" and roll of toilet paper all over the floor. Free dessert (given because of the holiday) looked very tasty (I was unable to eat it). Will probably return again.

Ordered omelette. Coffee was good,but the omelette didnt taste any good. Potatoes were sour, so my friends and I didnt even touch. We stayed for about two hours in the morning. I know we stayed long, but a man literally came to us and told us to leave (there were empty tables though). It was the way they told us. Service wasnt great and they were somewhat rude. One of my friend came late and was standing with her bag. The counter lady (receptionist) told her to leave that spot when we were not doing anything wrong. We gave a lot of tips though. Avoid this place or this place should have the better food and definitely better service!!! They were looking down on us.

Unfortunately the waitress we had twice is the WORST. She is rude, unfriendly, and really seems like her customers mean nothing to her or her job!!! Food was good both times, the older male host was awesome, and food came out quickly. The older white hair lady who was at the register would not allow my daughter to give our waitress less then 20% tip??? WHO DOES THAT? She starting making a wager war with my daughter about a tip, I couldnt believe what was happening I stepped in and said no and she was arguing with me because or bill was $32 stating we cant leave our tip (which was $3) just paid the tip and left it was just so ridiculous

I only come for the breakfast special. The service is mediocre at best. Unfriendly, brusque waiter, but I have gotten used to him. I dont take it personally. However, a refresher course on customer service wouldnt hurt. The food is ok. You cant screw up breakfast. Even I can make that. However, I like to treat myself once a week. The biggest problem is not unfriendly servers. Its that the breakfast is waaaaaaay overpriced. I might have to explore other options. I could buy dinner with what I pay for breakfast. Its not gourmet. Its eggs, bacon, and potatoes with toast. Big whoop!!

Dont even think of altering something from the menu. Also, what diner doesnt have pastrami??? In one of the largest jewish neighborhoods in the world?? I ordered a corned beef triple decker and it was more like a bread sandwich with a hint of meat. The fries look they were cooked 4 times... Hey, if you are going to charge your outlandish prices, give the customers ritz carlton service... my friends, the North Shore diner about 4 miles down the road in Bayside is a quality establishment...

I stopped in after a late movie and forgot how wonderful this place is. The menu is extensive. I ordered a Tuesday special that came with soup or salad, then vegetable or pasta, a beverage, entrée and dessert. Enough for two meals. The bread tray comes with delicious muffins. They refilled my ice tea. The food was very good. My vegan friend got a huge veggie burger. I could not be more impressed. GREAT PLACE! Our service was wonderful! Great wine and liquor offering for diner!

Rude horrible owner .. Would not even seat us because we had a baby with us. She was smiling and he tells us he doesnt want any noise in the dining room. He made more noise than any one there.The diner was empty and he had the nerve to actually turn us away! Never ever experienced anything like this. Would hate to have him for a father or grandfather. Went to Landmark Diner .. What a difference!

One of the worst dinners Ive ever been too. Service is minimal, and the food SUCKS. My burger was undercooked and my ketchup bottle wasnt even filled. Please dont waste your time and money here. Try the Omega diner down lakeville road 10 min away(no I do not work there). It was renovated a couple of months ago and has great service and much better food at better prices.

I ordered cheese omelet from the breakfast special...Potato under cook and the cheese was only on one side of the omelet. I was really looking forward to a big breakfast but so disappointed. My husband had eggs and potatoes and his eggs where cold! Services was pleasant. I wouldnt come again.
