Being a neighborhood foodie and modern art lover, the discovery of Toast was a warm and happy surprise. Constant praises from co-workers warranted a visit and there was a wait... A typical wait... But oh man was the wait worth it. The menu exists of Breakfast and Lunch items both served open to close. Daily Specials adorn the sandwich board outside and trust me you will have it memorized by the time you get seated. They seem to seat only around 30 patrons (that includes the counter). At least they take your cell phone and call you when youre table is ready (and get to wander the glories of Port Jefferson). The omelets are spectacular. They definitely understand how to cook eggs properly (never over or under done). Everything is customizable, with a price, for egg whites, or fruit instead of home fries. My wife is opts for the sweeter affair with their immense pancakes, french toast, and waffles. Try any of the sweet potato varieties and you will be exceptionally full and satisfied. Onto Lunch. Ive personally had every sandwich at least 2-3 times already, Even though I have my favorites, I can recommend any and all of them. The portion is perfect. The ratios to meat/cheese/toppings/condiments are spot on and consistent every time. My personal favorite is the Cajun Chicken (it has wonderful flavor, and a decent kick for those with a spicy affinity). You MUST try the sweet potato fries. They are on a culinary plateau of their own with that maple sauce. Did I mention they also serve fondue, cheese plates, tapas, and wine at night on Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights? Both Chocolate and Cheese. Tapas are switched seasonally and are little masterpieces. Im not a wine drinker but my friends never complained about their selection. Unsweetened Iced Tea. Unlimited Refills. Enough Said. Last but not least there is the art. First Thursday of Each Month, Fresh Art Long Island along with Toast find local artists to give a tired local art scene a little more modern kick. Photographers, Painters, Mix Media, Even Neon-Specialists have adorned the walls of Toast and I anticipate every month to see what will be next. They host poetry nights, live musicians, psychic readers, etc. Its nice to see an establishment embrace another art scene and culture and not just fall back onto lighthouse paintings and Thomas "Factory Line" Kinkade. All and all, I like Toast (as if you couldnt establish that before). Its a bright-shining technicolor dreamcoat in a sea of murky, drab, old-fashioned businesses. Im proud to say I am a Port Jefferson resident and Toast is my food/art culture church...

I have been to toast on multiple occasions, this time I went with my family which was a group of 7. We were told it would be about an hour wait, I gave them my phone number and my family decided to walk around the cute little town of Port Jeff while waiting. I got a call within 30 minutes! We all gathered each other and met back at toast fast, but when we got there the hostess told us she called the wrong party. This was pretty annoying however she apologized multiple times, it was also fairly busy. Finally another 30 minutes later we were seated and all set to order since we just stayed right outside the restaurant looking at the menu while waiting. Unfortunately half of us were missing utensils by the time we got our food so half of us had to wait until we could grab the attention of the waiters who were extremely busy. The food itself was very good, I ordered the blueberry pecan pancakes and turkey bacon on the side. The portions are pretty large and I was able to only finish one of the two pancakes that were on my plate. Overall, although this experience at toast wasnt too great, the past times that I have been here made up for it and will most likely come back.

This is my favorite place in the world to go for breakfast they make special breakfast items that you never see Warford in any other restaurant the staff always has a smile for you and a nice greeting no matter how busy they are they do get very busy at breakfast time on the weekends you want to go very early to try this place out on a weekend if you can get there on a weekday I promise it will be worth your while they have a little bar area with a great wine selection and if you are a vegan or vegetarian there are wonderful options for us give it a try it doesnt disappoint from The Eccentric decor to the smiles at the door it will not diappoint

Toast coffeehouse is not a coffee house, they have bulk beans and nothing is organic or in any way high quality. Toast is a glamorized IHOP and its not worth coming here if you are seeking high quality prepared meals, the food is substantial but lacks everything that a place like this should have. Everything is loaded with sugar and the home fries are weirdly always a bit burnt. Honestly just not the type of quality you would expect from the name sake. Wish they would put more care into serving quality instead of quantity.

I literally order lunch from here at least twice a week (if not more) and I never will again. The service is horrible. I have been hung up on or left on hold for more than 20 minutes, god knows how many times. I decided to stray from my usual breakfast, trying the chicken burger and god food poisoning so badly I had to leave work. The waitresses and hostess are rude. I wish the service matched the food, which is usually good.

Toast is a wonderfully inviting and popular asset to the Port Jefferson community. The food is great, the atmosphere is enjoyable, service has never failed me, and there are constantly interesting dishes and drinks offered. Since their expansion a couple of years ago, they have been able to accommodate more guests, but weekends are generally quite busy for this venue. Try going during an off-peak time if possible.

It took 20 minutes to get regular coffee after ordering and 5 more minutes to let us know that the smoothie we ordered 25 min ago was not available. The food was very tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The main issue we had was the service. Many of the side orders were wrong and our waitress was rarely seen. The wait staff seems overworked. They were responsible for more tables than they could handle.

We called and made a reservation for 11am, knowing they get busy. We arrived a few minutes early and were told it would be another 15-20 minute wait. We came back in 20 minutes and were told yet again 15-20 minute wait. The air head hostess was less than apologetic. My party of 6 happily went elsewhere. If you cannot accommodate a reservation you should not being taking a reservation. We will not be returning.

Great food. Wait way too long however worth the wait. Visited the new location in Patchogue, wait was close to two hours, however the worst part was waiting that long for terrible food. Chicken and waffles was so bad, my son who usually has a healthy appetite ate one bite and said this is the worst chicken & waffles he ever ate. My Toast was dry, French toast was pre cooked and reheated so was the potatoes.

Ive been coming here for years. The menu selection is outstanding with food equally outstanding. On the weekends there is always a wait, however, it is always worth the wait because of the great food, exceptional service and fair menu prices. You cant go wrong here. This is way above average in terms of food and service. Breakfast specials are always changing and are great. Highly recommended.
