OH MY GOD, ITS LIKE IM BACK IN JAPAN! After living in Japan for 4 years, I ate ramen on a daily basis. After finding out that they were opening up a ramen place in Port Jefferson, I quickly rushed over there with my wife (who also lived in Japan, but for 2 years) and we ate to our hearts content. The flavors were super authentic to what we had experienced back in Japan, and luckily the portion is great too! Ive met both the owners and they are lovely people, both having spent a long time in Japan as well ( the husband is Japanese, so if youre looking for authentic Japanese food made by a real Japanese ramen chef, you found him!) What more can I say? The esthetic is nice "muji" style, which in Japanese means plain, but thats not what it really is. Its not all the flash of many Japanese restaurants, but instead portrays the authentic clean look that restaurants in Japan are known for. I can only write here my love for my new go to ramen shop, but you HAVE to experience all the flavors yourself and maybe say hello to the owners, theyre great people! AND DID I MENTION! They dont just have the stereotypical broth of just salt or soy sauce, but a varied selection! (Just like Japan is known for!) and the noodles are just like how I remember them from Japan! So if you try a flavor youre not used to, trust me, there are PLENTY of other options --- just like there are multiple types of sandwiches, there are multiple types of ramen and broth! So try to your hearts content, because you wont find any place closer to the real thing!

Came here having heard mixed reviews about this place, and wasnt sure what to expect. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food came out quickly, and there was an area for you to turn in plates once finished. It reminded me of service in a Panera, so its primarily a place for a quick meal. The Ramen itself was good, though nothing close to a place like Toto in NYC. Having said that it was definitely the best Ramen i have encountered in Long Island, the broth was very flavorful and meat was tender. I was surprised that the noodles were so thin, but it didnt matter to me since the taste and texture were good. Great place to eat so long as you want a quick meal, though there is not much seating so try to beat the crowds.

This has to be my favorite and most frequented place to eat in Port Jeff. Though there are limited menu options, it is not difficult at all to find one that you adore. My personal favorite is the Slurp Smooth, which has to have one of the most authentic shoyu broths I have ever eaten. The steamed buns are also delicious, and there is a wide selection of drinks to choose from, from imports straight from Japan, to simpler fountain drinks. Note: if you have issues with sodium, I would recommend the Slurp Fresh, which is comprised entirely of vegetables and is a good vegan option as well. Even if youre not particularly a fan of Japanese food, Slurp Ramen is a place that youve gotta try at least once.

For a quick service, this food tastes like a five star restaurant. I dont see how someone could think these are anything other than authentic Japanese noodles; some people need to check their taste buds and stop expecting ramen being instaramen. To those interested, I highly suggest trying the Slurp Classic. The staff are also very accommodating: I do not eat pork and they were happy to replace the pork with chicken, or anything else thats available. Everyone working there is very enthusiastic and the owner and head chef are very welcoming!

Slurp Ramen is an awesome establishment with a great format and amazing options, the food is substantial, authentic, and best of all, tastes fantastic. They have vegetarian and vegan options, the vegetable buns are great and the slurp fresh is a classic dish full of flavor for anyone with food aversions. The staff is kind and helpful, there is an enormous sense of pride amongst the employees and patrons alike to have such a specialty restaurant in the village of Port jefferson. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

I have been to slurp ramen many times and every time that I have gone, I have thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Most of the time I order the Slurp Smooth which is about $10. The portion sizes are decent and I am always full after eating here. The food itself I think is delicious, not too salty. The service here is exceptional, the owner of this restaurant is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He goes out of his way to make his customers happy. Overall, this is definitely the best ramen place in the area!

Having lived in Japan, and travelled to some of Japans most famous ramen destinations (hakata, Wakayama, etc.) I have high expectations when it comes to ramen. Slurp Ramen fully delivers. Classic tonkotsu broth and perfect noodle thickness with the right level of texture. The interior reminds me of many local ma and pa ramen shops Ive been to in Japan. This is a quintessential Japanese neighborhood ramen shop; good food, good prices, good service - but lucky for us, its been imported to the states.

So I must say Im spoiled. My first true Ramen experience was at Ippudo Manhattan. After having experienced that Ramen, everything is compared. Slurp does a very good job of creating a cool atmosphere with good food to boot. I tried the spicy Ramen and the flavors were good, but not excellent. I felt that there should have been more broth in the bowl and more heat. I also tried the pork bun, which was excellent. Overall I was very satisfied with the meal and will be back when Im in the area.

Best Ramen I have ever had, period. The food is authentic, delicious, and well priced. I work in the village and am so glad to have Slurp around the corner. I have eaten a variety of dishes all of which were excellent. There is plenty of seating inside and the place is clean. The service is surprisingly fast and pleasant, which is refreshing! Do yourself a favor and stop in if you havent already, and if you have, you dont need me to tell you since youre probably planning your next trip in!

I am not an adventurous eater and neither is my five-year-old son. Coming to slurp was my first experience with traditional Japanese Ramen food. I ordered the Slurp Fresh which has tofu in it. I added extra avocado and corn. It was delicious and very filling. And my typically peanut butter and jelly/chicken nugget eating son loved it too! He ate tofu for the first time in his life ...tofu!!! So needless to say we really enjoyed the food and have been back twice since Slurp opened.

This place is a part of my life now. Every week me and my girlfriend make it an absolute priority to go to Slurp and have the best Japanese cuisine weve ever had. I would even venture to say it is one of the absolute best resturaunts on Long Island, theres really nothing quite like their varied traditional ramen, perfect rice bowls, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. They even have refills on ramen bowls for only 2 dollars! Slurp will have our service for a VERY long time.
