My partner and I tried this place out for dinner, and we were not disappointed! Per the recommendation of the server, I tried the veggie shoyu ramen. I couldnt believe how flavorful it was-- when it comes to Japanese noodles (at least in the States), vegetarians often get ripped off. But these noodles were amazing: the broth was complex, there was a great combination of bok choy, nori, bean sprouts, and scallion, and several different types of mushrooms, which gave it a meaty body. I tasted my partners noodles, too, the Sapporo miso. I was surprised to find that I actually preferred the taste of the veggie shoyu broth, despite there not being any meat in it. But my partner definitely enjoyed his, cause, ya know, meat. If youre a carnivore, you cant go wrong with chashu. Well definitely be going back here. If you decide to go for dinner, consider going early-- we took a walk after dinner, and on the way back (only an hour later), we discovered that Sapporo had closed an hour early because they had sold out of noodles! I noticed while we were sitting in a window seat that they get a lot of (well-deserved) foot traffic. Something to keep in mind if you decide to dine here!

Ive been here 3 times before rating, and Im putting it at five. If youre unfamiliar with Japanese cuisine like I am, the staff makes ordering easy and will patiently explain what all of the menu options are (in my experience). Also, the food is just plain good. Have you had those nasty ramen bricks that college students live off of? Well, not here. The ingredients taste fresh, theres a variety of broths, and also a vegetarian option (mushroom broth, I recommend adding Garlic Oil). They have a really chill atmosphere. Chill-techno music and anime playing at all times. Ill keep coming back and have told my friends. Keep up the awesome food and great service!

Great service and food!! I must say that they keep getting better and better everyone I come here!! The customer service is top notch and so attentive!! The food is so amazing!! They keep raising the bar each time I come here by way of service and food!! Its has a very warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed!! I just cannot stop gushing about such an awesome place but then again I love authentic food!! They take their time to explain everything on the menu and dont rush you out the door like other places. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!

My buddy and I came here for his birthday just a week after they first opened. Ive had gourmet Ramen in Boston, and Im very happy that Sapporos Ramen stacks up nicely with other Ramen you see in other cities. The noodles are great, pork belly was very tender, and the soft boiled eggs are out of this world, so get some extra of those added in your bowl. I also liked the attention to detail, and how clean it is inside. Use the expensive white pepper they have on the table, and give it a couple minutes to infuse the broth. Its super good, and youll be slurping it when youre finished ;)

The restaurant itself is pretty nice, but ramen was only ok. The noodles were overcooked and the broth was too salty. My dining partner was in full agreement, so I didnt just get a bad batch. The add ons seemed necessary to complete any bowl, but the cost of a bowl completed this way was outrageous. Sadly I would rather make the trek to Ann Arbor for better tasting, cheaper ramen than come here again.

The atmosphere was nice, busy as to be expected considering the college area vibe. The food was really good, very hearty. Servers were nice. The noodles were more American standard in their cook, but very delicious and noticeably fresh. The calamari was good, slightly overcooked as the ends were a bit chewy but otherwise great. I do recommend this for anyone wanting to have ramen out.

Amazing broth on the Hakata Modern and the Brave. The pork broth is a delicious creamy color and not brown at all which happens when you dont blanch/clean the bones. Tako Yaki melts in your mouth and the Edamame was delicious. Soup is always perfect temperature everytime I come here and the servers are always knowledgeable about the menu.

While the inside of the restaurant had a cool vibe, and the wait staff was excellent the food was far from it. The broth was lukewarm, the pork tasted like a sponge, and the whole thing barely had any flavor whatsoever. The noodles were overdone. Id be shocked if this place stays open more than a few more months.

The food was delicious and amazing! The service was wonderful. Charles, the owner, made us feel very welcome and was gracious. Our waiter gave excellent descriptions of the menu. When I walked through the door, I felt like I had walked out of East Lansing and into Tokyo. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food (I usually get the Sapporo Miso). If they run out of one of the bowls theyre helpful in suggesting other bowls to try. You receive your food quickly after ordering. They also have a Groupon ($14 for two bowls for two people, or $28 for four bowls for four people).

I try two times in this place. The ramen is so terrible especially the soup. It is the worst soup I have ever tasted. The meat and egg in the ramen is disgusting. I dont compare it with the ramen I had in Japan, but this is even more terrible than I thought. ぜんぜんゴミです。

Was not impressed by the raman soup....expected it to be really good and was disappointed. The chicken tempura was cooked well but the sauces were lacking flavor. You would think that the Wasabi would give it a little punch but there was only a tiny amount in it.

By far one of my favorite places in Michigan. Awesome service, awesome food. Noodles come out quick and hot, and the flavor is really good. Quality is comparable to famous ramen places in New York, where Im from. They even have cute food arrangement

I was there for the ramen and it was okay. Their broth is good but the noodle, too soggy. I cant of course compare it to the one I had in Japan but this one is better than ramen shop in detroit. I cant go into detail, due to Im not a food critic.

So glad to have a ramen place in the Lansing area. Ramen is quite good - I love the white pepper on the table to give it a little kick. The chicken karaage is crispy and delicious. I also enjoy the gyoza. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Very helpful waitress for our first time there. Place was intimate and they had nice - not too loud - music playing. The bowls were huge, full right to the top, and the food was wonderful! That broth, though...omg. Well be back, Sapporo.

Food is beyond spectacular. Sometimes I will get egg not prepared properly. I can clearly notice that. But the noodles, broth and everything else is always prepared excellently. Great place to eat with friends after a cold and hungry day.

I had a personal problems with the type of meat they used in the Hakata Modern, the Ramen I got. Im not a fan of very very fatty meat, so it wasnt for me. Though I wasnt a fan this time, I will be back to adventure into another Ramen.
