DUUUDE! I had the vegetarian ramen that can be made vegan easily minus the shoyu egg. Im no chef but a ramen minus pork broth is pretty damn tough Ive tried but this was so flavorful. As most Ramen/pho/udon you can pick up around our town they do make the broth to this one pretty chill as far as spice goes so its easily approachable to anyone but just ask for a couple raw jalepenos and their spice spreads through the broth quickly after tossing them in. There were crispy large pieces of tofu, these skinny little enoki mushrooms that have a mild flavor and awesome texture and 2 kinds of sea veggies nori and kombu. I couldve sworn there was bokchoy as well but it isnt listed so maybe Im trippin. I did get the egg because i knew it would be too good..and it was. Too bad so sad for my pops who orders his all the way vegan mwahaha. Anyway I cant wait to go back and try some of the specials theyve been posting online their Bahn mi and to be quite frank I need to try the spicy double soup (delicious food makes me a terrible vegan hahaha).

After moving back to Louisville a year ago from Asia, I have sought out ramen at countless generic Japanese restaurants in the area. Each one has been a disappointment. Until now, that is...and I cant say this emphatically enough in written text...THIS PLACE IS THE REAL DEAL!!!! The broth was rich and full-flavored, the noodles cooked to the perfect level of chewiness, and the chashu was thick and falling-apart-tender. Literally, stop what youre doing and go eat at Mirin...NOW!!!! So good my husband and I are currently ordering a second round of ramen in the same sitting!!!

My husband decided he wanted traditional ramen soup for his birthday so I took to Google to find the best place around here. I found Mirin, read the menu, and decided to give it a shot. We both could not be happier! The food was outstanding! My husband even gave it a 10/10 and he rarely sings praises! I was so pleased with our experience. I wish there had been a more extensive menu, but thats probably my only critique. We both got the Double Soup and it was outstanding!

Had the pork and chicken ramen, very feeling and great flavor. However, service was a very "what do you want" attitude. He didnt care it was our first time there and didnt bother to explain the menu to us. Will not go again. Was really looking forward to trying the potstickers, crab rangoons, or bubble tea but theyre not on the everyday menu so that was a waste. Drove an hour for a less than stellar $31 lunch for two.

Excellent noodle bowls. Im really excited to see more and more restaurants serving this Asian specialty and the folks at Mirin are doing great work bringing artisan quality noodle bowls to the 502. I had the Tonkotsu ramen and it was delicious. The toppings, especially the pork and soft boil egg was very flavorful. My request- bring a dark miso and fried tofu noodle bowl to the standard menu.

Fantastic place--happy they are in the neighborhood! I look forward to many visits in the future. We went in late on Saturday night, and enjoyed the best ramen I have had since I was in Japan. The guys who run the place are friendly and made us feel at home in their restaurant. Happy about the vegan options--they have something for everyone :)

Absolutely blown away by the ramen! The Spicy Double Soup was rich and spicy with a vinegary flavor, and the tonkatsu cooked to perfection. The Veggie Ramen was perfectly umami and balanced between seaweed and mushroom. I like that soju and sake is served here too!

Spicy double soup was amazing, Tonkatsu ramen was delicate and flavorful, pork bao was delicious but the piece of pork was a little sinewy but that does happen sometimes no big deal. Love the fact their open late and i can grab a ramen.

Had the veggie II ramen...miso with mushrooms, fresh greens and spicy. It was so good. Service was great and prices are more than reasonable. Just moved here from out of state and this is definitely gonna be a regular spot for me.

Oh man. This place is fantastic. If you like bao or ramen youre in luck. Only 4 stars because theyre working out some kinks and the drink list was short. Im sure theyll get that straightened out soon enough.

Easy going atmosphere with very good ramen. Only a small selection of food, which I like. You see how the guys prepare the food. They also give you good recommendations.

Im sure the owners of Mirin will read this and hate me for it, but Rumplings was way better. And way too much seaweed in the ramen.

Good! Best broth and noodles Ive ever had. But everything was pretty much served with an egg :/ more variety would be nice.

Excellent food at decent price. Great if you crave Oriental, but want more flavor than Chinese takeout provides.

Got the Shoyu Ramen. The noodles have a very good texture and the broth is like a meal in its self, very rich.
