I come very frequently to this bar. Food is quite honestly some of the best bar food Ive ever had and the staff is always friendly and a delight. It is a great place to chill during the week. I think it has gone downhill since the renovations actually. On weekends it is now too crowded to move....that many people should not be allowed in there at one time. Its hard to have fun in a bar when you cant move, especially with such a narrow space to walk and/or stand. Then, they now expect you to pay $5-6 cover to get in there to be bumped into by people and navigate your way to get a drink?! Its becoming not worth it. Plus, a dive bar should NEVER charge that much for entry. Makes me more apt to go to many of the other places that dont charge. I am reluctant to say this because it used to be one of my favorite spots (still is a pleasant and inviting experience on weeknights) but I always shoot myself for even bothering on the weekends. Isnt worth the hassle, crowd and ESPECIALLY the cover on a Friday or Saturday. Any other night, youre missing out by not going for Sunday Funday or to get you through the mid-week slump.

I had the most horrible experience at this place. I went here on March 19th with a couple of friends. I saw a guy walk in that had a fat lip and was bleeding I asked the bartender for ice and water to help the man out that got bite by a dog. This was on st patty day parade so it was completely packed that you couldnt move and I guess when I was helping the guy out, I must of bummed a girl that was dating a guy that works there but was not working that day. He had me kicked out for no reason even thou I tried explaining and showing what was going on. All I have to say if the people that work there are more concerned about themself or there friends instead of a man that is hurt at that place of business, it would definitely not be a place I would want to go too.

We love the Idiot so we couldnt wait for the restaurant side to open. We went the other night (4 of us total) and we were beyond disappointed. It took 58 minutes for our food to come out! Then after 3 of our entrees came out my husbands still took another 5-10 minutes. When he finally got it the chicken was beyond dried out from over cooking and my nachos (the top chips) were burnt black and the inside was cold as if it was sitting for a while. This is very dissapointing from a place we love. Hopefully theyll get another Executive Chef that can lower the ticket times because we will not be eating there again until thats all smoothed out.

Their drinks/food were ok & the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately the pub was under construction & the side designated for sit down dinner was closed. As such, the space was limited & people were constantly bumping into the few tables that were jammed against the wall. Should you want to sit anywhere other than the bar or tables, youd be out of luck. This would be a great spot once its fully opened.

The food is REALLY GOOD !!! You can tell the kitchen cares about the quality of the food they send out. Great local bar with great customer service and worth traveling to if not local. The price point is very fair. The atmosphere may seem loud on certain nights however a separate dining room and plenty of TV screens so you will be sure to tune in to your favorite game!

The food is the only good thing. Service is terrible, we only saw the waitress when she took the order. It wasnt busy so thats not even an excuse. Never gave us the waters we asked. Charged for extra blue cheese we never got. This the second time we try and it will be the last time. I guess there was reason they were pretty empty for the first nfl game of the season.

Lame. The bartender was as slow as she was clueless. I guess the owner figured that as long as theyre cute, they can tend the bar. Id rather they hire staff who can perform their duties rather than posing and flirting. My first drink took a full 10 minutes, and it wasnt even busy. My first time there...and the last time.

Pub is pretty good , their wings are great ( only thing i would change about them is a lil seasoning on the chicken, but the sauces are great) .... Everybody is friendly the owner is a real stand up guy... and the waitresses are gorgeous ... Im definitely going again

The atmosphere is great I really enjoy the acoustic during a Sunday morning breakfast. The customer service is partially perfect and friendly I must say. I look forward to my Sunday breakfast at the village idiot with great friends who make laugh.

BY FAR THE BEST BAR ON MAIN STREET PATCHOGUE. All of the staff are wonderful, very accommodating. The food is always hot and flavorful. They always have new specials. Their brunch is my absolute favorite part about them though.

We didnt have a terrific dining experience here. Their bar was great but, their food wasnt terrific. I had a burger that didnt have much flavor to it but was served on a nice bun. It was nice sitting near the windows, though.

Love this place! The drinks are good, the staff is amazing, the food.....well its awesome and the specials certainly arent your usual "pub" fare. Great for lunch with family, and drinks with friends.

A good place to hang out. Do not use the female bartender if you can help it. Shes cute but a real dingbat. She takes forever with a drink order and I once saw her lose a guys credit card.

This bar was interesting in the sense that it had an upbeat crowd doubting along to the music that was playing. However, it was a bit crampedand the drinks could be a bit pricy.

If you go too late, the food can be cold/warm. However, this is such a great spot especially whwn a DJ is there. St. Pattys Day was CRAAAAAAZY fun!!

It was a good dive bar, but now its twice the size and clean. Its usually too crowded and they upped the price of the PBR cans from $2.00 to $2.50!
