I have been going to Taras for years; it was always a nice Irish family type bar and still is. Very recently the pull tabs at happy hour were dumped-- the prices--heretofore very reasonable have increased greatly (4 x) while the portions have shrunk. Now its just a bar; what happened?? Yesterday I was there with my and wife and adult son--we noticed the change right away. People at the table next to us asked what happened?? Saying they wont be back. The only thing that is still there is the surly barmaid who has been there forever. That is one change they should make!!

This place is great. How can you go wrong with a dollar burger and angus beef? They use great quality meet, cook it to perfection and you only pay a dollar. If you like an old serene look with wooden floors as I do, you will love this place. For the price and quality of food, there is hardly a wait to sit down which is a huge plus. I feel this place would bring in lines of people. This place reminds me of the bars in Ireland, beat up, great drinks and food, and just a great atmosphere. I recommend this place in a heart beat.

I started coming here twenty years ago only because its a local Irish bar the food is no longer good the food went downhill the service went downhill all of the money they collect from the locals does not go into the place it never changes for the better the bathroom is like a shoebox the bartenders are not friendly and they dont take any credit cards or debit cards only cash which is sometimes inconvenient for some people you got served on paper plates

With all the overpriced burger joints around port jeff Im continually impressed that Tara Inn still gives you the best bang for your buck and offers a really good burger. The steaks, lobsters soups and salads are also excellent. They just added a new grilled chicken sandwich which in my opinion is better than anything youre going to find around these parts. Family friendly and a really good happy hour make this the place to be in port jeff!

Fab-u-tastic. Best bar, best bang for the buck, food, drinks, all awesome. Was up for a wedding on Veterans Day, had 4hrs to kill and Mrs & me figured it was a neat place to check out, being dressed up for nuptials, we got some looks, explained were between wedding and reception, we were told that we were in the right place. I would not go to this place ever again.. They are very rude and disrespectful. The waitress man handled my 73 year old mother... After my mother waited alomst 45 minutes for her food... Told her that if she doesnt want it she can leave. If you like trash go there... As they need to upgrade their service and employees..

Food menu is large and has great prices, taste is good in general but great for the prices. Bar is nice, the usual selection and prices. You can always find a friend or someone to chat with. Overall, a good place to go with a bunch of friends when youre hungry, in the mood to drink, or both.

My girlfriends and I had a GREAT TIME!! Food was ridiculously good, prices were awesome and atmosphere was just what we needed!! Everyone sang to some great songs on the juke box and Tara got everyone going. Cant wait to go back!! Nice crowd, mixed age groups. THANKS AGAIN TARA!!!!! ❤❤❤

Always a good meal with good drink. Prices are the best around the food is excellent. A fantastic pub. Just great to go. The prices are best for your meal and the food is that of the healthy type real food not fast food all cooked in kitchen. Highly recommended.

$1 burgers arent the only deal youll get here, everything else is great too. Can get busy and parking can be tricky, but still one of the best bars around. While other bars come and go, this ones been here forever and isnt going away anytime soon I bet.

The food is gross, the staff is rude, the place is falling apart. The owner is nasty and tried to tell me I was the issue when her bar staff ignored me and while doing shots with her friends at the far end of the bar. NEVER EVER EAT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best place on earth, simply put. Cheap beer and food. Get a full blow awesome and cheap meal until 3am. Burger with all the fixns and chips for $1???? How can u beat that? Soup, salad, STEAK and fries $5 come on!!! Insane prices!!! And awesome crowd

Great prices and quality. Servers are always nice and friendly! The crowd is usually borderline rowdy and always pervy. Dont worry though the bouncer will have your back if need be! They even walked my friend to her car once, really great staff.

Been going to Tara Inn for over 20 years. Inexpensive bar food, great drinks and a fun atmosphere. Its your local dive bar and more. I love Happy hour pull tabs, and always get excited when I only have to pay 10 cents for my drinks.

My favorite bar in port jeff. Great place to have a beer and burger. The prices are very cheap and the food is good. They have my favorite beer "yuengling lager" which is hard to find at bars on long island.

One of the best dive bars around with great prices on drinks and food. You can get a lot for $10 here. Only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is because parking is annoying and not the best crowd.

How can you not like this place? Sure its a bit cramped but the food offered late in the night works. My only gripe is that its not as cheap as it used to be. Thats whats made it so special.

Not what it use to be. Prices went up. Menu has been reduced to a few items. They run out of Lobsters early in the day. The staff is new and not a friendly as the old crew. Wont be back
