After hearing recommendations and seeing such rave reviews my girlfriend and I decided to try The Main Pub out and it might have been the worst restaurant experience weve ever had. After being seated it took between 5 to 10 minutes for our waitress to see us initially and bring us water. After receiving our water and ordering a beer apiece, it took between 10 to 15 minutes for the beer to be delivered to the table (not by our waitress so we couldnt even order our appetizer and meal yet). When our waitress returned after another 5 minutes we ordered fried pickles for our appetizer and a main course each, with my girlfriend ordering a soup to be delivered prior to the main meal. Again, there was much wait for our appetizer, nearly 20 minutes, and about 5 bites in a hair was found in one of the dipping sauces. We notified the waitress, who went and spoke to the chefs in the back, only to return 10 minutes later to offer their apologies and explain there are measures to prevent this (that failed). At this point the soup was delivered to the table (again not by our waitress), about a minute before the main courses were brought out, giving little to no time to even taste. By now we had finished our glasses of water and beer, having to wait until our waitress returned, yet again after a 10 minute wait. We were left without service the rest of the meal, and only then did we have any interaction for the waitress to bring our check. Its a bit perplexing to have little to no service at the table for a majority of the meal after already finding a hair in the appetizer and wanting to make a better impression on paying customers. The only saving grace of our experience at The Main Pub, and the reason we arent rating it a 0 out of 5 stars, was that all of the food was very delicious. Theres a less than .01% chance that we will return as customers.

I had to wait 25 min after my friends recieved their meal until I recieved mine at which point they were done with their meals. Our server was rude; ignoring us each time we called him and completely avoiding our table for over 40 minutes after we finished eating. The fries were burnt and he didnt even ask if we wanted refills or even waters after we finished our drinks. We had to call another server over to get us our drinks. When we asked to have my friends meal wrapped, the server merely threw the sauce into the container with the other food without packaging it seperately. And finally even though we asked for seperate checks at the BEGINNING of our meal, he not only delivered one check, but slapped it down on the table. Disgusting! I will NEVER go back there again!!!!

Keith the owner is a complete rude jerk! he has no respect and gives attitude, he is very strict about his parking, as i have seen him yell at people who probably were only gonna be parked there for 20 minutes the most. Yet he allows his costumers to park in the Walgreen parking lot which is not allowed SO he is a hippocrate! He isnt even nice to the people when he tells them to move, there is only a tiny sign there which he should get a bigger one, and he should patrol walgreens as well since alot of his costumers park there, Also he walks around his restaurant with his dog, im not sure if he brings the dog inside but i still dont find that appropriate at all to be walking around your resturant with the dog!

We were there on a slow night, so the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The third star is for that, and for the drinks specials. The salad was good, but the meat I paid to have added to it was so far overcooked, or cooked so badly, that it was inedible. It seemed to have been either boiled and then microwaved, or served to someone else and microwaved, or something. I left it on the plate uneaten. Ugh. When I told the waitress she said, "Im sorry," but I was still charged for it. Its too bad, because the menu offers a variety of good choices, the place is pleasant on a slow night, and its close to where we live. The food you pay for should be edible or should be taken off the bill. We probably wont be back.

Yuck! Bad food. Ordered Caesar Salad with prime rib for an extra $7.00!! Salad consisted of iceberg lettuce with a few croutons out of the bag paired with a watery Caesar dressing. Prime rib was a few thin leathery strips of something more like beef jerky. Not a hard dish to get right, this was a complete failure. My wifes appletini was pure mix-no alcohol and was promptly sent back. Her pulled pork sandwich was left on the plate - too dry and inedible. Waitress was pleasant but service was slow. Not an experience we will ever repeat.

I have been going to The Main Pub for over twenty years. I moved out of state but always make a stop there when ever Im back in town. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff are always friendly and treat you like family. The food is above and beyond for Pub food and the prices cant be beat especially for the quality. You can get anything from personalized pizza to rib eye. My favorite are the muscles. Better than any Ive had from Maine. I hope to be able to continue to visit The Main Pub for many more years to come. Tamie B.

My wife and I had our reception of 20 people at the Main Pub. It was a WONDERFUL experience. The staff and managers were more than helpful and there was nothing we asked for that they did not deliver on. We even brought in our own dessert that they set it up for us and also the wedding favors they displayed for us. The food was amazing and HUGE portions. Drinks are very reasonably priced also!! Sells incredible local craft beers and shops local. Also the menu has many options for guys and gals. The daily specials are creative and unexpectedly appetizing! THE PATIO IS awesome this summer! Thursday night trivia IS A BLAST ! DRINK SPECIALS and a late night menu keep the night going!!!! Local bands and big names tear up the stage and rock the sound system weekly! Def a place to stop and grab food with friends and family for any occasion.

One of our favorite places to eat. Been going here for a couple of years now. The Prime Rib is out of this world and the Best I have found in the state of Connecticut but only available on Friday and Saturdays. Overall the menu has many options all of which are very good. Soups are excellent. The servers were very helpful and professional. Over all and excellent choice for evening and lunch fair.

My quick review for the Main Pub as far as dinner is concerned is that you have much better options in this section of Manchester to choose from. Food is very mediocre at best. Beer list rates a good. Social atmosphere is fair to good since everyone that was here in a group, Hence some of the other positive reviews I read. Parking bad, Location poor. Staff fair to good.
