Im almost embarrassed that Ive just learned about The Simone. Its five blocks from my home, and I pass it regularly. In a sea of mediocre $200 NYC meals, The Simone is a shimmering island. Yes, dinner and drinks here is closer to $250, but relatively speaking, The Simone is a genuine bargain. That out of the way, last evening we had the great pleasure of dining here, and everything was ... pretty much perfect. We spent considerable time speaking with one of the owners throughout our meal, and it was apparent that everything runs as it does at The Simone by design. From classic service (serve from the left, clear from the right ... when did you last see THAT?) to the absolute invisibility of water and wine glasses always being refilled and napkins refolded. theyre doing everything right at The Simone. Everything. And the food ... well, lets just say that our party of four sampled and shared a wide variety of things and everybody loved everything; and were kind of an eclectic crew of palettes; thats no small feat. Truly wonderful. If you can get a table, go.

Was looking for a special place to take my lady, and we had decided on French. I needed some place near our hotel or near Radio City where we were seeing a show, and out of the limited options, this looked like the best. Unfortunately, when I called at the end of November for a reservation, their outgoing message said they were booked for the entire month of December. Well, I knew I chose right at that point, but what to do? I left a message hoping there would be a cancellation, and they called me the next day to tell me they could squeeze me in at 5:45 for a pre-theater dinner (meaning they knew wed be out in an hour or so). Score! This is a very small restaurant - only a handful of tables. Very minimalist decorations, but extremely classy and a dress code that if they dont need to enforce, because the patrons know better. Our waitress knew the menu inside and out - i was thoroughly impressed with the breadth of her knowledge. She was extremely helpful in making our choices as we were both a bit stuck between a couple of items.

The Simone is a wonderful elegant restaurant offering French cuisine. Every detail of the restaurant is lovingly decorated, down to the handwritten menu. The food is delicious and visually stunning food. A feast for the eyes and the stomach. The wine list is extraordinary to say the least. But best of all, one of the owners is a sommelier, so we just trusted her judgement and she was spot on with her wine recommendations for us. We had a very lovely dinner and will be back.

This might be the best dining experience a person can have in New York City. Tina is the most gracious, generous, warm and caring person who will do everything in her power to make sure you have an amazing night. Her husband Chip is a masterful chef and pastry guru. Together they are a powerful force and delightful in their humility and ability to entertain.

Tina created this wonderful restaurant 4 years ago and it keeps getting better. The trick to getting a reservation is to go from June - September. Otherwise, if you know her and youre just 2 people its likely she can add a table for 2. Figure dinner will cost about $100/person all in........and its worth it.

The Simone is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. The service is impeccable, the food is beyond amazing, and the environment as though youre dinning in someones home--comfortable. I highly recommend the Simone.

Confident food and service. Excellent preparations and a well priced wine list with many unique selections. Handsome dining room and a very welcoming group. I left the dining room as a friend. Will return.

Love this restraint. Great food, expensive, well spaced tables, good wines, only 11 tables. Reservations hard to get but worth the wait. Attentive and smart service. Rapidly becoming a favorite.
