I had such a bad experience here that I felt compelled to write my first google review. I went in late afternoon to grab lunch. After being seated, I was actively ignored by the wait staff. This was late afternoon so there were barely any patrons, and the one woman who seemed to be working disappeared for 10-15 minutes. She got the check for another table that was leaving, rang them up, bussed their tables, then went in the back. She even made eye contact with me but kept on walking. The place was virtually empty! They just intentionally ignored me. There were also two french speaking workers just standing at the front not even saying anything as I walked out of the restaurant after having been ignored with not so much as being brought water. Luckily red rooster is next door, so I was able to get something to eat and get attentive, friendly service. Hopefully you dont waste your time or money on this place. In summary, rude staff (not just to me, I heard them be short with another man who walked in asking for the owner or something) and not what the neighborhood needs. Everybody please stay away! Maybe the next place that moves in will have better management.

Worst dinning experience ever since my 12 years eating in NYC. The menu was a prix fixe with a foie-gras salad that could be nothing more then cat pâté and an actual piece of the plastic wrapper. Never saw the entrées because we had to leave. Theres only so much any self respecting individual can take while being made a fool of. The manager did manage to step out for a cigarette break while our table laid dormant. The owner didnt seem bothered that our table of five was neglected from the start and during our entire one hour and a half hellish experience there. Even the ginger ale tasted stale. Its a can of soda: how can you f*** that up? What disappoints me the most might be that this is a French restaurant, and being a French citizen this was disgraceful, cowardly and really just tasteless. I cant imagine how you can pretend to charge good money for thrash and think you will get away with it. I will never step into this restaurant again as long as I live. And to the owner/cretin: go back to France and learn how to run a business you make the rest of the hardworking expats here look like idiots.

My mother, brother and I went to Harlem yesterday to see my sisters new place,we ate at Chez Lucienne for brunch. We had a wonderful time. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was Maya, who was absolutely charming and very attentive. We got our drink orders in good time. We ordered fried calamari it was excellent. My brother had the escargo (snails). He loved them. Our main courses were hot and delicious. I had the Ceasar salad with grilled chicken it was perfect, my brother had the coq au vin he loved it, Mom had the crepe with salmon and spinach and sister had crepe with cheese and mushrooms, they all loved their dishes with sauces. We will eat here again when we take another trip in to the city. Mom and brother live on Long Island and I live in Queens.

This restaurant is single-handedly showing Harlem (and other parts of the city looking at the restaurant scene in central Harlem) what happens when you put good quality, good service, good atmosphere and good price points together. Ive been to Chez Lucienne for brunches, lunches and dinners and its always been busy and for good reason. Central Harlem has needed something like this for a long time. Its irrelevant that its French (it could have been anything) - its a beckon call to other restauranteurs that they can succeed in Harlem. My only reason for not giving the final star is that its success has oftentimes affected service times (the service itself is impeccable; timing not so much). Otherwise, great little restaurant and my go-to in the nabe.

Dined here for the fourth of fifth time last night and as usually the service was bested only by the food. I had LAPIN A LA MOUTARDE (rabbit stew in a Dijon mustard sauce, carrots pealed onions, mushrooms and served with pasta) my friend had TRUITE ARC EN CIEL (fresh trout with lemon sauce and served with sautéed kale) both were fabulous. Normally I have no room for dessert, but we split a CHEESE CAKE (Traditional New York cheese Cake) and all I can say is cheesecake factory look out! Rich creamy and not too sweet. Will definitely be back (again and again). Red Rooster gets the fan fair, but for my money Chez Lucienne is the place to be. I should also mention a very nice wine selection and full bar.

Very hangry about this place. I order first course and main course, everything come in the same time! Order glass of Provence rosé, they poor me a very bad sweet rosé! Ask for wifi they didnt care! Team was totally insufficient tonight! Put the clean glass rack on the top of the trash... For a French brasserie the wine list is not poor but very poor, only 3 wine to 12 where French !!! Last point this place is very very noisy, you can almost not hear the music ! First time in my lige that I write a comment but sorry I have to do it!

I hope that they calm down on the prices a little bit because the food isnt that great, you can get better from a corner store down the block or something. The staff tried to be attentive and were sorry unsuccesful. We ended up having to eat only have of our food because they said they had a party o 7 comin and needed room. We paid just like everyone else did and your going to rush us as if we were bums eating free food? My mom really liked the place i could care less because I know what is expected in New York and this isnt it!

We order delivery form Chez Lucienne sometimes. Food is very flavorful in the old kind of way, every time I eat there I feel like this is something that a (really talented) grandma would serve me! Fish special on Thursday is an amazing value at $12.95. Eating in- the cozy French bistro atmosphere is great for when you want comfort mixed with some scene and generally francophile vibe.Service is good, not excellent. Music on the patio can get strangely louder than inside.

Great French restaurant in Harlem that is making a name for itself, but sometimes (and unfairly) overshadowed by the Red Rooster next door. This is a wonderful place to take a date. It is a nice atmosphere, not too noisy and a very attentive staff. The food is pretty good. The chicken, which I had, was tender, though a bit salty. The restaurant isnt too large and it has nice outdoor seating. This is definitely a nice restaurant to have a low-key relaxing meal.
