Service here...SUCKS!!!!....We came in a group of 8 and after asking if we could have separate checks and the waiter giving the green light...it seemed to bother him. He had an attitude with everything everything we said. As I write this it is going on 20 minutes that I finished my beer and no ok ne has asked me if I want another one of if I want water or if we wanted extra food. When When we asked for the check, he put the check on ONE bill like he didnt already separate the checks at the beginning of the meal. He also charged a gratuity of 18% when he CLEARLY didnt deserve it. Felt like not being Asian had a HUGE part of why we werent waited on properly....but thats just what I observed......just one guys opinion. I will never come back here again. P.S. The stereo system is horrible...it cant handle any type of bass...one speaker keeps cutting out...and the music choice thay was playing was not appropriate for where we were. If it was was a bar...sure...not for a restaurant. Server "S"...bad service all around.

Ill start by saying that their wings are really, super tasty. Soy garlic would definitely be my favorite. Ill be visiting other Bonchons but I will not be back to this location. We sat at the bar one evening and were not addressed by any member of the staff (there were two bartenders, a hostess and a waiter or two) for an eternity. Said excuse me multiple times. Finally received menus after 20 minutes of no contact and it took another 15 minutes for someone to come back. Keep in mind we were AT THE BAR with staff immediately in front of us the whole time. Finally ordered and they forgot our only drink - an item that only needs to be uncapped and moved 1.5 feet from the fridge to our seats. Food was fine as usual but the staff - incredibly bad. And, you guessed it, it took another eternity for the check to come. Please, do yourself a favor, go to another location or their affiliate (Boka on St. Marks) until they fix their staff training issues.

Reviewing a chain is silly in general because you know what you are getting ...that being said Bonchon tastes amazing -- if you dont like korean fried chicken you are sub-human. You have 2 choices of what your chicken is flavored with -- garlic or hot.. or half/half -- get the half and half or the hot. The service is friendly and attentive. The location features some bench seating and tables upstairs, or if you plan on taking it out - you can wait at the bar at the front of the store. Otherwise the store was well maintained and clean -- as I was there I watched the hostess clean up some tracks that were dragged in to the shop. Finally the distance from Penn Station makes this the idea way point on your way into or out of the city. Just factor in the 15 or so minutes it takes them to prepare your meal!

I admit, I am addicted to this chicken. I love the crispyness and the sauce and everything about the food. I usually order delivery since eating here is rarely a good experience. Either the service is super slow or Im confronted with weird restrictions. One time I asked to sit down and was told they didnt have tables for one person and would I sit at the bar? Um, no. And they made me wait for 10 minutes while they cleared a suitable table. Had the place been super busy I might understand, but there were five empty wheen I got up there. Theyre not really good at having a sit down restaurant. And the only reason they really do it is because the chicken takes so long to cook that it cant really work like McDonalds. So I stick to delivery and am a much happier girl.

I noticed some people getting lunch from this place and my friends also mentioned it as something to get for lunch. So I figured I check it out because who doesnt like chicken? I got the lunch special during my lunch break and it was one of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The 8 piece wings are $8.99 before tax and for me, it was worth it for what I got. They also offer some sides like fries, pickled radish, or coleslaw, but that will cost you a little extra. They also offer other Korean dishes if you choose to eat in. The only thing I didnt find as appealing was the lack of variety in flavors. They only have soy garlic and spicy. Its not that big of a deal for me as I start trying this place, but it might be for people who prefer to have a variety of flavors.

We had been hearing all the hype about Korean fried chicken and decided to try some out. We had the medium drums with half soy garlic sauce and the other half spicy that came with pickled radish and we added the Takoyaki and seasoned fries. The food was pretty good. The service was greatly lacking and the restaurant was not that clean. We noticed it took along time for other customers to get the waiters attention to pay. After customers left, tables remained covered in trash. I think it might be best to try another place next time. 3 stars for lack of cleanliness and poor service.

Foreign Cinema. This place is such a cliche - like the hippest thing in 2003. Is it still relevant? Since Im still seeing new reviews for it, then I guess it is. My friends family went there recently, so I guess Gen Xers still think its cool. Its excess in the SF way - high prices and even greater pretensions. Even its name - Foreign Cinema - wow. Can it get any more pretentious than that? Maybe you can go here once to "experience" it and get a feel for it. The food is very good; the ambiance makes you feel good about yourself for being chic and trendy. But a repeat visit? Nah.

My father and I went here because when we searched for the "Best Chicken Wings in NYC" and Bon Chon kept coming up in our searches. We were not disappointed. The chicken was great and so was the service. The decor was so-so as the interior looks like a modern wannabe cool-hip place but it is what it is....a korean place with good food served on fancy plates with wall decorations that they dont need. I would not go for the atomosphere but I would go for the Wings/Strips and the Happy Hour priced drinks! I have only gone to this one but there are more Bon Chons in the city.

I went to the restaurant because my professor recommend it. My friends and I (total of 3 girls) ordered a medium combo (wings & drumsticks) with hot sauce and garlic sauce, a seafood pancake and a bibimbap. Their drimsticks are lager than I expected, crispy texture. Both sauces are great, good flavors but not too salty. I do not know what spice they add to the bibimbap but it taste different than any other ones I had before, taste good. We didnt finish the seafood pancake and each of us paid $23, which was a reasonable price for dinner in Manhattan.

One day my friends and I were on the hunt for a place to get chicken for lunch. Enter Bonchon. With a simple menu that makes choosing your meal easy, ordering is a stress free experience, but there are still enough options to appeal to every pallette. For their chicken, they have two signature sauces: a sweeter onion sauce and a spicier pepper sauce. Both were exceptional, but let it be known the spicy sauce is quite spicy, so proceed with caution. The chicken itself is crispy and satisfying.
