I feel guilty giving a bad review. I grew up on Nautilus, and was so happy to hear it reopened. My dinner was decidedly sub-par, though. The $30 Romanian Steak was tough, and had no marinade at all (requiring copius amounts of salt and pepper). It came with a soup, and the waiter wouldnt up-charge to French Onion, which was weird for a diner in Long Island (most are completely accommodating with order modifications short of barbecuing a shoe). I gave it 3 instead of 2 stars because everyone elses meal looked pretty good. Ill definitely give it another shot, though. Ill modify my review if my experience is a little better next time (promise). - - - - - SECOND VISIT today (about a year later) was just as bad (maybe worse). Downgrading to 2 stars. Waiter was rude and impatient. Still charging full price for French Onion Soup - they wont up charge, so if soup comes with your meal and you really want French Onion, prepare to have to eat two soups. Ordered the duck. Huge half a duck where slices would have been better. Barely any marinade or seasoning, and the citrus sauce that came with it was pasty and lacked the strong, sweet and pungent orange flavor one would expect with this pairing. Mashed potatoes had no gravy (which would have been fine if they were garlic mash, but they werent). Prices way too high for a diner. My guess is prices were high because of the large quantities, but the logic seems to be that, since you get a lot of it, it must be good. Bad logic. I wont be going back, unless I have to for a post-event dinner someone else planned for some reason. I miss the Nautilus I knew as a kid. Food was great, it was charming, people were friendly. Now it looks like a nightclub, the food sucks, and the wait staff seems to think wearing a bow tie makes them more professional. Fail.

I NEVER take the time to do this but I was so utterly disgusted with the whole experience. First, the staff did not seem happy to see us as they close at 1am and we arrived at 12am. Ive been a waitress for a long time and I understand the staff wants to go home, but it wasnt ten minutes before you close, it was an HOUR! And we were ordering to take out, so its not as if we were going to hold them back from finishing up and getting out on time. The waiter rushed us the whole time and yet, this still would not have pushed me to write this. We ordered an appetizer of calamari and Im honestly not even sure what I received constitutes as calamari. The breading just fell off (like GROSS not even cooked, just mushed and peeled off) and when it did fall off I was mortified at what was underneath. NOTHING resembles what calamari should look like. Its like they used the extra flesh of the squid instead of the rings and legs. Since its seafood, I couldnt even get past one or two pieces because it tasted terrible and I was honestly afraid to get sick because I know bad seafood can be a nightmare to your health. I posted a picture of a piece of this "calamari" under google pictures for the diner but most of all I just want others to be wary when ordering and reconsider going at all. I would never give them my business again and now I can understand why they were closed for so long and always seem so empty.

Ordered an "adios mother****er" (vodka, rum, tequila, gin, blue curacao, sweet n sour mix, and 7up) and they brought back a "Cinnamon Toast" from their menu. Which is rumchata creme rum and fireball on the rocks. Which is whatever, sometimes people get orders wrong. But it was dyed blue... And they denied that it wasnt an adios mother****er. It was creamy and cinnamon-y and had the very distinct flavor or fireball. They said their 7up gun was just acting weird. I thought I was on a prank show or something. How do you make a drink with light drinks and a lemon lime soda taste like cinnamon and cream?? You cant. What a weird lie. Food was okay, it was difficult to get to anyone to help our table though. Which is weird because we were probably the only ones there at the time.

My husband and I ate there for the first time last night, on the recommendation of my daughter, and LOVED it! The atmosphere, the food and the service (Dylan was our waiter) were outstanding. The only thing that freaked me out was there was an older gentleman sitting at the counter, very nicely dressed, and he just kept staring and watching everything that was going on in the diner. The gentleman never once smiled and, to be honest, he did not make me feel very comfortable (our booth was right next to the kitchen and near where he was sitting). #1 from what I could see and experience, the diner has excellent staff and keep everything running at a great pace and #2 if you are the owner, wouldnt you want to smile and have your patrons leave with a great feeling?

Firstly the service was extremely slow and unfriendly. There were 4 of us that ordered various breakfast meals, the Western omlet came out cold, the egg white and feta wrap was undercooked and very runny. We asked for milk for our coffees but that never arrived. The other meals were said to be OK with not real positives or negatives. The waitress was nowhere to be found for most of the meal and didnt come by until the very end after we had been sitting for several minutes. Needless to say we wont be going back.

Disgusting. Now I remember why I stopped coming here years ago. Ordered a chicken breast sandwich with fries and a soup. The chicken was super chewy and not fully cookef through. The side Cole slaw seems like it was there since 1989, spit it out immediately. Will definitely never go here ever again, 20$ wasted Rather drive the extra 5 min and go to Massapequa Diner on Sunrise. Super dissapointed. Even the soup was cold. How do you mess up Chicken breast and a chicken soup????? #Terrible

They did their job!!! I had a devistatingly delicious Eggs Benny, double eggs, avacodo on the side with some fried bacon. The coffee was actually good, most diners serve garbage but the black coffee with an ice cube I always have turned to seconds with the first sip! The staff were attentive, never missed a detail and were great to talk to. Overall, it was a perfect diner experience. I would absolutely return next time Im in the area.

The freshest seafood around town! A bit expensive however, its the quality of fine seafood restaurants. A real good variety of soups and they have Italian wedding soup everyday! Of all the places Ive been, they make the best blue cheese dressing and freshly chopped side dinner salads with entrees! Staff is unbelievable. The owners are there to greet you always.
