We came in and the host told us to have a seat anywhere In the first room so we helped ourselves to a two top, took a seat. Spent about 15 minutes until I asked the host if someone would help us. The waitress came and asked us if we would have more people join us since we sat near a 4 top. We said no. She asked us to get up and move.... and here I am writing this review. Cant go anywhere else since Im here on my lunch break. Not great host or service. Maybe they are having an off day. However its not an excuse.

Nice ambiance, friendly staff and great service. Parking lots on both sides were full on a Thursday early evening - always a good sign. Lots of choice on menu including breakfast any time. Food is above average and prices are very reasonable. My Eggs Benedict were great and came with home fries at only $9.95 (I took half with me when I left). Grilled cheese sandwiches are NOT $7 unless you add stuff like bacon and tomatoes at additional charge.

I see people giving bad reveiws on here. The fact is,the Sherwood Diner is a Diner, not a resturant. You cant just walk into a restaurant 24 hours and eat a meal .Diners kitchens are small and limited to selections. If you want steak,go to a steak house,if you want italian,go to an Italian restaurant. The salads are fresh, and the breakfasts and dinners are tastey. Good, fast service also.

Headed back to the Hartford area from a day walking all over NYC and needed to eat. The Sherwood Diner sign on the highway beckoned to us. It turned out to be the perfect place for a 9 pm refueling. All of us opted for breakfast fair and the feta and spinach omelet was great. Cherry pie and ice cream for desert made for an interesting combo but a great meal. Our waiter, Gus, was awesome.

Two weeks ago my kids had the pasta and meatballs. The "meat"balls were flavorless. Tonight, I took my daughter in for a quick bite on the way to Barnes and Noble. She ordered the mac + cheese. The pasta seemed like it had been left in boiling water all day. And for the cheese, Velveeta would have been better than what we had. Sherwoods a good place to miss.

Took amazing good care of us. Our toddler started melting (crying) because she couldnt have a booster in the chair but didnt want a highchair. The hostess moved us to an appropriate booth and made her feel better with crayons and paper. Food was pretty good but I could have been eating anything and would have been so happy because of the personal touch.

Nice little diner with a focus on Greek food. The Greek flavors are really good, but somewhat spoiled by piles of lower-quality garnishes like mealy tomatoes and piles of gnarly iceberg lettuce. Solid dinner-style food at reasonable prices, but could be better with a little effort.

A favorite of mine for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is great diner fare and reasonably priced. The service and food preparation is consistent and good, even the way they always serve slightly burnt toast! If you cant think of where to go to eat out, go to the Sherwood.

If you want to sit and not be helped, this is the place for you! Waited 10 mins; no one took my order no one even tried helping me. When I asked for help I was told this isnt my section. So steer clear of this diner. Better service at a Dennys.

This is and always will be one of my favorite places to eat. Definitely my go-to place for lunch and dinner with my sister when our parents give us 20$ for some food. I would recommend for anybody... The toast is great!

Way over priced diner food. Small portions, large price tag, low quality. Still seems to be a very popular spot. Lowest price item is toast which is a dollar a slice. You pay seven dollars for a grilled cheese.

My second home...I love my breakfast because they make it exactly how I request it. They are alway so accommodating and I love all the servers & hostesses. I have my favorites...they know who they are.

This is the best diner ever, everything is delicious just I guess the napinks are too expensive because they give you only one, if you ask for more they will still bring you one single napkin!

Stop on our way through Connecticut. Classic dinner food done right, or even better. Huge servings. I was hangry but still had enough left over for ANOTHER meal. Service was great too.

Wait staff wonderful. Ambience cozy. Food caters to the masses. Remember Bill Knapps? A bit bland...Lots of selections... Great to get off expressway during rush hour for a break.

all of the bathroom walls are so nasty with grease and dust you can draw pictures in it. I wonder whether the kitchen is as dirty. Food was ok but I have to wonder about cleanliness.

Worst steak Ive had at a diner. Completely unseasoned and tasted like charcoal. Poached eggs overdone, pancakes only passable. Toast was hard too. Worst diner in the area.

NOT 24 HOURS! I love this place, but just stopped by at 5:30 AM and there was not a light on in the place. Had to turn around and go back to Athena, which was open.

Nice diner, but not just diner food. My blueberry pancakes were a little undercooked, but the coffee is good. I wish Id ordered the turkey burger.

The food is reliable, the place is always busy and clean, so the food is fresh. The service is fine. Nothing great, but never a problem.
