I was not impressed by the Blue Hen. I ordered a taco salad (which clearly was a mistake at a wing place) and was served a bowl of just meat. There was barely any lettuce or anything else in it! I tried to order wings, but soon found out that they were all fried in a contaminated fryer and therefore, not gluten free. Having a sensitivity, I was strictly limited at this place. No one here tried to make any sort of accommodations for me. The sweet potatoes were a mushy mess and oversweetened, ruining the natural, healthy flavor that they should have. Needless to say, I wont be returning.

I gave the Blue Hen a couple of chances, both times the wings were dry and tuff. Not to mention the sweet potatoes were dry and the macaroni and cheese was just okay. I was happy to have a wing place back in Mahopac but sadly I will not be stopping by there any time soon.

I do take out from here often. On the expensive side for what it, I have never been disappointed in the food. Staff is nice and restaurant always looks clean. It is my go to place for wings
