My name is Kaliopi hair extension spechialist in nyc. Born in Ny but raised in Greece the island of Creta till few years ago that i moved back to NY. Let me share with you my experience at Kavala Restaurant!!! Although it is not a 100% Greek resturant. It is a very nice friendly environment restaurant to come visit and have a nice brunch or diner. Now how about there food ? I whill let you know in a while.... Let me first mention a little history of the name Kavala . Kavala is a city in the north mainland of Greece i had the opportunity to visit with my hubby sumer 2016 and get to know more about this part of Greece. Kavala city had two other names in the past first as Neaapoli (meaning New City ) and as Christoupoli (meaning Christs City) after several wars Greece had ...the City got named as Kavala. Its a very nice city combined of water and forests. I got so surprised i was living in Greece for 20 years studied the Greek History but never was told about Kavalas history..... ( coming now back to KAVALA RESTAURANT in NY........) In our Anniversary my hubby told me he wanted to take me out in a restaurant named Kavala in NYC i immediately told him YES...... We tried this place for brunch and diner and the food was amaizing good! Allthough as i told you in the begining it isn 100% Greek thay took the Greek original food and put a little of there art and creativity .... change it a little bit but made a very good taste! So good. As a greek women knowen cooking the Greek cousin traditional i am very strict in allowing anyone to change the traditional way and flavors of the greek cousin....but this Restaurant Kavala did a very nice respectful change that you can still tast tradition in each bite! It is defenetly 5 star rated!

Fantastic service and the food is divine. Simple, clean and thoughtful dishes. The space is so nicely done and made for a perfect late Thursday dinner. Nicely laid out with a bar in the back, candlelight, intimate and cozy. Dont skip dessert! The chocolate hazelnut baklava (not the typical drippy-too-sweet, in the best way) and cheesecake are everything. Especially loved the super fresh ingredients and liberal incorporation of vegetables into the dishes. Will definitely be back.

Kavala was amazing. The co owner Lucian and server Adrian were absolutely great and very helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is to die for, we had the lamb ravioli, grill head on prawns, lamb duo and the whole grilled branzino. There was absolutely no left overs, not even left over garnishes. Perfect size portions, reasonable pricing for such great quality food.

This place is incredible. the service was one of the best ive ever had. the food took a little longer than usual but they made up for it with incredible service. they gave me a complimentary appetizer as well. the waiters were excellent and the food was amazing. will definitely be coming back here. definitely recommend the salmon and the calamari

Simply Amazing! The pleasant ambience, great quality service at all time, very attentive personnel, and most importantly delicious food. Mediterranean based cuisine yet upscaled with a French touch up. Its a hipp/ fine-dining combo with very reasonable prices. Definitely different and worth trying!

Great atmosphere and amazing food, the roasted chicken may be the best thing on tbd menu! The staff is so nice and welcoming, the chef even came out to say hi and ask how the food was, plus the bar area was perfect for a drink with a few friends after dinner, cant wait to come back!

Excellent food, amazing chicken and lamb burger. Octopus was a bit though even great flavor. Service us very slow and they didnt listen to us when asking for the meat being rare. It came more than well done and they never asked, thus the three starts otherwise I would give five.
