We couldnt take our mother on mothers day until today, she loves crabs so we decided to call The Crab house restaurant to make a reservation at 4pm, the person that answered the call gave us the price of the crab dishes and told us if was ok to get there at 4:30pm, our table was ready and the waiter came to take our order for the 14 of us ,8adults 6 kids. We ordered the apetaisers and the kids meals , two pitchers of sangria plus two orders of their Maryland crabs, after we got through our appetiser and are waiting for the entrees here comes the waiter and tells us THERE IS NO CRABS LEFT!!!!!they ran out of them . Why take our reservation, Why take our order!!!! why wait for us to finish the appetiser to tell us there arent any crabs left....We where very upset with this situation and ask for the manager, whose name was Barbara, who told us there was nothing they could do about this situation, and that the next time we call for a reservation to tell them to safe or hold some crabs for us.......are you kidding me and you are the manager. We went from different parts of Brooklyn and Queens to take our mother out and this is the customer service we got from this restaurant......you need a new manager and need to be honest with us the customers, and by the way isnt your name the Crab house!

THE WORST!!!!!!..RED LOBSTER IS PETER LUGERS COMPARED TO THIS JOINT...THE MANAGER OR HOSTESS NOT SURE WHAT SHE IS... IS NASTY..SEEMS TO HAVE AN EYE PROBLEM CONSIDERING SHE ROLLS HER EYES SO MUCH WHEN ASKED A QUESTION..ON TO THE FOOD..A CRAB HOUSE WITH NO CRABS...THATS A FIRST..MUSSELS THAT WERE HALF EMPTY..THATS WAS ANOTHER PROBLEM..THE SO CALLED SALAD..LETTUCE ONE PIECE OF CUCUMBER AND SOME SHREDDED CARROTS..AND A PAPER CUP FOR THE TABLE SPOON OF DRESSING.THANKS BUT NO THANKS..ON TO THE ENTREE...OVER COOKED PASTA ..A LOBSTER TAIL MORE LIKE A LOBSTER PINKY OVER DONE AND DRIED OUT....THE WATERFRONT CRAB HOUSE NEEDS TO CHANGE ITS NAME TO THE WATERFRONT CRAP HOUSE.....THIS PLACE IS A TIRED MESS...A REAL BUST OUT JOINT...DONT BOTHER..ZERO STARS WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE APPROPRIATE BUT IT IS NOT AN OPTION ON HERE... UNFORTUNATELY..WATERFRONT?????...THE ONLY WATER WE SAW WAS THE UNAPPETIZING GLASSES OF WATER THAT WAS SERVED TO US...DONT BOTHER....

Should of listen to the reviews. My husband and I went there for dinner and we were very disappointed. we ordered the calamari they were so small and the dipping sauce was tasteless. For our main course we ordered Seafood Fra Diavolo the mussels were the smallest Ive ever seen the 3 shrimp were over cooked so dry we couldnt eat them. The sauce was thin tasteless and horrible. I ask for mild I got blah. The waiter Jose was great until we told we werent happy with the food. Than he ignored us. The best was when we first got there I told him about the bad reviews and we would give it a try. He said dont worry we have a new chief from France and the food is much better he lied. To top it off our groupon expired and we had to paid the full price. I didnt know the groupons expire. Cross the Crabhouse off our list will never go there again .

Just went to this place tonight. Heard about it from word of mouth. The hostess was dismissive. She seemed like she didn't want to be bothered by the patrons. Finally sat down it took the waiter awhile to ask us what we wanted. When he did come over he seemed to be nice. But then took our order and never came back to check on us. He didn't even ask how the food was. It took forever for the food to arrive. The mozzarella sticks were pretty good. And the shrimp was ok, could have been better. We needed a refill on drinks and had to literally corner someone. Waiter came back during the end of the meal and asked if we wanted dessert. We had to say "no" three times. A little too pushy. Suffice it to say we won't be back at this restaurant ever again.

This place has great eat-with-your-hands seafood in a fun "dock"-restaurant interior. My wife and I live in LIC, and we cant believe theres a restaurant like this in walking distance. We usually would drive to City Island to go to something like this, but its right here. Weve gone during the weekend, and weve gone in the middle of the week. Seafood is always fresh and wonderfully prepared. Its not "high"-food. Just good ole eat-with-your-hands stuff. Prepare to get messy, but theres something gratifying sometimes about stuffing your face with shrimp, BBQ ribs, corn-on-the-cob, onion rings, fries, and ripping apart a whole crab or lobster. This is a real gem in LICs restaurant repertoire.

Love this place! Best bang for your buck seafood place close to Manhattan. Portions are huge and the price is maybe half what youd play in Manhattan. The interior reminds me of Apple Bees with all the neat antique items on the wall, there is even a lot of boxing memorabilia as the owner was a boxing fan. Make sure you load up on FREE peanuts from the bathtub near the bar. As for the food, you can get steaks in addition to seafood. Ive tried the Love Boat which is 1lb lobster, scallops, shrimp and crab cake for $33, the 24oz Prime Rib with frizzled onions on au jus ($26) and the NE clam chowder $3 a cup! Most entrees come with a side and a salad. In the end youll likely have leftovers.

Im loving LIC more and more. Waterfront Crab House is located on a corner street and the first thing we noticed upon on arrival was the beautiful Manhattan landscape in the background. Breathtaking. The minute we walked, we noticed the awesome antiques placed on the walls (we even found a1969 Mets poster by the bar). We came for the seafood and thats exactly what we got! We ordered a dozen oysters, Hot & Spicy Shrimp "New Orleans Style", and king crab legs. Delicious! The oysters came from Washington D.C., the shrimp you had to peel off yourself, and the crab meat was well - meaty! It was all about getting dirty, working for your meal, and having a great time.

Food is delicious.. Kudos to the chef for the absolutely great food, the fried shrimp, ole bay crab legs, crab cakes.. the list goes on! However, the waitress was very old and crazy looking. She never once smiled as she stood over my wife and I, pacing the floor. She simply did nothing but take the order, the bus boy did all the work. My decision was to tip the bus boy favorably and her less, only to be approached by waitress and manager telling me I HAD to give her more because she doesnt get paid much!...? I thought tips were voluntary according to SERVICE SATISFACTION when already included in charges. Food was expensive enough to pay employees well.
