I think that Taste Of Thai Express is a way better choice for thai take-out. Based on the other reviews, Im guessing Sticky Rices Laotian food has got to be better than their unimpressive Thai. All I know is that I have ordered Chicken Pad See Ew a million times, from many different Thai places, and this was hands down the oiliest dish I have ever eaten. At Taste Of Thai its fluffy and flavorful; The same meal from this place was literally swimming in oil, yet the noodles were mostly gummy, white, and flavorless because they were stuck together with so little black bean sauce and SO MUCH oil. It was gross and unappealing. I needed to sit the dish in a colander and drain it. There was practically no chicken either, just a strip or two, then the rest was all little shredded bits. Also, the guy who was taking orders was somewhat rude. I guess he puts the seated customers first and the take-out customers second? Who knows. This first-time take-out customer will not be coming back for a sit-in meal. Even though I live extremely close to Sticky Rice, Ill travel across town for the better meal.

I ordered from Sticky Rice and had to wait AN HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES before it arrived. When I called an hour into the wait to see where my order was, I was told that it was on its way. When I called back fifteen minutes later, I was told that they had "spoken mistakenly" earlier, and that the food was still at the restaurant! When the food finally arrived, it was cold. The salad, which consisted of a quarter of an iceberg wedge, was delivered in a plastic bag and the lettuce was not cut. The portions were ridiculously small for the price. Do yourself a favor and order from Taste of Thai, Thai Express, or any of the many other Thai places in Ithaca that give you quality and quantity for a reasonable price. Spare yourself the exasperation of ordering from this place.

Great food, affordably priced. A rookie mistake would be to order any fare that you would find in other asian restaurants in town (fried rice and the like). Though they are delicious, youd miss out on this hole in the walls other tastier, authentic dishes. The eponymous group of dishes are their sticky rices: a main dish accompanied by a nicely presented purple or white sticky rice. My personal favorite is Laab-Nua (Laotion spiced minced beef). Their desserts are also fairly unique, and my go-to is the mango sticky rice (unlike the main sticky rice dishes, this is sweet, due to the mango and the coconut milk coating the sticky rice).

Ive ordered 2x and love the flavor, that would be 5 STARS! The only problem and why not 5 stars is this: first time the food I think it was Massaman Curry, felt like i got half an order. It was swimming around in the container like they had run out of it and just gave me what they had. The next time same thing, was fuller, so there is issue of portion regularity. WHICH IS AN BIG ISSUE, I hope they see it. So the 3 rd time will tell me was it jsut fluke as now its 50/50. Pluses flavor is awesome- Massaman Curry but try the purple sticky rice, so good. And the Drunken Noodles also great!

We ordered about $100 worth of food for delivery. When they food arrived it was totally inedible! Soggy, flavorless, and honestly looked like wed get sick if we consumed it. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager... he said that its because of delivery and that delivery isnt a good representation of their food. If thats the case then they shouldnt offer a delivery service!! They did not offer any sort of solution and when I asked for a refund they said they could only give me 15% back. We threw the food away and ordered a pizza. Complete waste of time and money!!

Sticky Rice is the best!! I went there to get take out last night with a friend. I got the laab-moo which was very very good. It was salty, savory, a little sour, and I could clearly taste the herbs. I ordered medium spice, and while it was much hotter than I expected it went perfectly with the other flavors. It came with yummy purple sticky rice! My friend got the green curry. It was so, so good! Creamy, flavorful, deliciously spicy. Im so glad we decided to stop by here and I look forward to trying more of the menu!

Their purple sticky rice with orm gai is my favorite. I love Sticky Rice. It is not the easiest to find, does not have the best ambiance, may have flies hanging around, and never seems to have enough space, but boy they do food well. Youll have to try their purple sticky rice if you come, but everything else on the menu is excellent as well. A hidden gem in Ithaca and highly underrated.

Sticky Rice is the best Thai restaurant in Ithaca, hands down. The Laotian sausage and catfish dishes are specialities you cant find elsewhere in the area. Ingredients are always fresh. The sticky rice dishes are superb, also unobtainable elsewhere. Dont go for the Thai standards (e.g. Pad Thai); order things you havent seen before at a Thai restaurant. You wont be disappointed.

Having eaten at this fabulous Restauant for 10+ years, I can highly recommend that you try it out. All the dishes are fabulous and tasty. Prices are affordable. Once you find this carefully hidden gem in Ithacas eating scene, youll be tempted to keep it a secret of your own. Can sometimes be a bit crowded at dinnertime, but worth the wait.

This tiny, hidden hole-in-the-wall restaurant has some really fantastic Thai and Laotian food. Recommend take-out or delivery, as it only seats about twelve people maximum. Some dishes are kind of "meh", but others - like the Panang curry I just finished - are good enough to lick the plate. Seriously.

This place has the soul of Asia food in. It is not your pre-processed slap dash noodle joint you can find in any American city. Honestly, this place rivals any Laotian spot in any city on either coast. You want pad thai, or some other pad, go someplace else. Every time I eat there I am impressed.

Everything is Fresh and made to order! In addition to this the owner is an actual chef and a native of Laos! i.e. he can cook the hell out of any dish on the menu! Also the food is reasonable priced, but make sure you get there early. This "hole-in the wall is worth checking out!

Delicious food with more unique and seemingly authentic ingredients and flavors. Each dish actually tastes different, not just the same flavor with different ingredients. Also, I believe this is one of the few restaurants in Ithaca that actually serves mango sticky rice.

good food but tiny portions! especially for expensive price. unique b/c laotian- I love the sticky rice and the fact they come in the authentic serving containers but not worth the price...also limited seating can have slow service. delivery even smaller portions.
