First of all, I want to say that Im vegan and so is everyone else who ordered from here with me. I was extremely dissapointed in the customer service. We first called and were very clear twice that we wanted TOFU. The lady said ok and when we opened it at home, there was chicken in both of our dishes. We called them back and they were extremely confused about the whole thing. Jesus christ, I understand that you arent a fluent english speaker, but it is that damn difficult to understand the difference between tofu and chicken?! They said they would make it again and the curry had no chicken but the pad see u still had tiny bits of chicken in it that were very obvious. We called again to complain about this and they were still so confused about what was happening. OH. MY. GOD. All in all, the staff here dont know how to run a restaurant. They are nice people, I just think they should pursue a different business. If you are vegan or vegetarian, DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Always pleased with the quality of the food and the "service with a smile" received at Tamarind. Perhaps a claim to being the best Thai food in Ithaca is somewhat subjective--but you will find plenty of people who hold Tamarind up as an exemplar of the region. The restaurant itself is quite small and quaint, but it has a more upscale atmosphere than some place like Taste of Thai, whose food I dont personally care for either. The Tamarind staff really makes a difference with their attitude and practice of making you feel like a valued customer.

Very good thai considering number of options, generally the best tasting and staff are always very friendly/helpful/conversational. Following the other Thai restaurants in this area, the decor and atmostphere is much more upscale compared to your average Asian restaurant, yet the authenticity of the food is still intact. Usually my favorite Thai for dining in.

Dont let the outside fool you, the inside is lovely. Everything I ate was absolutely outstanding - meat rolls, tom yom, panang curry and the Thai custard. My husband enjoyed his pineapple fried rice as well. The staff was so friendly and kind. I dont know when well be back in the area, but we would absolutely come back to Tamarind and tell our friends too.

Our familys favorite Thai place for several years. Massaman curry chicken is great and Salmon green curry is amazing! Dont order anything spicier than a 2 on the scale of 1-5 unless you want your lips to burn for hours. The house salad with peanut sauce is great and my kids love fresh rolls and gyoza as appetizers. The service is friendly and fast!

Food was ok, not great, and barely spicy at all even though I ordered 4/5. This is hardly the first place Ive been to that goes easy on the spice for non-asians, but its annoying when I order 4/5 spicy and it still takes a few bites to notice any spice at all. Ive enjoyed the other Thai restaurants in Ithaca much more.

I never write reviews, but I had to write a glowing one for this place. I order from them all the time and they are always so so so accommodating... I recently ordered the wrong side and they decided to throw it in for free! Get the mango chicken or the yellow curry. Simply the best!

The food at Tamarind was really tasty- I think better than Taste of Thai and more reasonably priced. They dont have a liquor license yet so its BYOB, so bring a bottle of wine with you. It is really warm and cute inside, despite looking a little shady outside. I highly recommend it.

The Pad Thai was the best weve ever had and the Panang was amazing too! The food and service were great!! After getting the food to go, we were heading out on a 6 hour drive back home. They went out of there way to make sure we had what we needed. Well definitely be back.

Great food, very polite and helpful staff. Seems to be very popular as the place filled up from empty to absolutely full within our stay of around 45 mins....Strongly recommend. Also, very vegetarian friendly! They can convert any dish into the vegetarian equivalent,,,

Great food, affordable, nice dining atmosphere (nice decor and easy to have a conversation). They dont have a liquor license, but you can bring your own wine, which is actually really nice, if you plan ahead (Red Feed Wines is just a few blocks away).

Tamarind is my favorite Ithaca restaurant. The food is excellent in every detail; someone in the kitchen is both talented and inspired. If you are tired of spending too much eating at mediocre restaurants, try this place and go home happy.

I eat here often. The food is always good. Many great appetizers with the meat rolls a big favorite. The duck dishes, eggplant, and pad thai are also excellent. Its not fancy but the great food, staff, and prices keep me coming back

Authentic as it gets. I had the green papaya salad, and it was SO incredible. Crunchy, left me feeling very healthy and satisfied. My friends got other stuff that smelled incredible. Decent price. We had 10+ for less than $150.

Best place to get thai food in Ithaca! Ive ordered here over 15 times and have NEVER gotten food poisoning unlike other thai places. Their green curry is hands down the best thai curry Ive ever had. Always consistent!

I really appreciated the attention and the food was great. Wonderful place. It looks kind of shady from outside but the atmosphere is great once you come inside. Fantastic experience.

Pad Thai was decent, not the best Ive had. I got a 3/5 spice and didnt find it spicy almost at all. I would like to try out other Thai in Ithica to see if there is better.

Absolutely delicious food. Classy and charming atmosphere. Good prices. I crave their pad Thai, love their curries, and often get the taro dessert.

Great curries! Service is a little slow at times but the food more than makes up for it, and there is always pick up and delivery. Try the gyoza.

Serviceable Thai food. The service and ambiance is excellent, as are their noodle dishes. The duck here is very so-so, however.
