Worst food experience Ive had in years. Wouldnt suggest Hitlers Mother eat there. My goodness how does this place stay in business. Perhaps it was the efficient friendly waitress? Raw Matzah ball in the cold greasy Matzah ball soup. The replacement soup of cold split pea was cooked but equally unappealing to the palate. My salad came with rancid Greek dressing and fake cheddar cheese shreds. The mousakka was greasy mashed potatoes with ground meat with grizzle in it topped with some yellowish slimy topping that I suppose was to be bechemal. My ordered eggs and halfway through eating an over easy eggs chewed down on something rubbery. I asked for the check, declined to take any food home when offered a box and advised the waitress that the food was disgusting and inedible. I left her a reasonable tip as she did her job well and walked out. Run folks and spend your money at Burger King across the street. Hmmmm, maybe that is where the chef got his training?

OMG! Do yourself a favor and drive the extra distance to New Paltz for a better meal. I recently had the misfortune of dinning there with my family. I ordered a cheese burger deluxe, figuring that hamburgers have a high turnover rate in a diner. The waitress was very nice. She brought our meal over, when I was about to take a bite I noticed a large portion of my bun discolored and slightly green. I brought it to the attention of the waitress, she apologized and brought me another bun. When I grabbed that one, the bread crumbled in my hand. The waitress apologized again and told me that I would not have to pay for it. I told her, no kidding. I left the burger on the table and watched my family eat their meals, which appeared save to eat. Upon paying for my familys meals the owner didnt have the decency to apologize for the terrible dinning experience at the Highland Diner.

With a well-stocked liquor cabinet and 24-hour operation, this is not exactly your average diner. My wife had a breakfast consisting of a waffle with ice cream. Cantelope replaced strawberries which the diner had run out of. The hard, immature canteloupe that my wife feared she might get didnt happen. The canteope was at the peak of repeness. This is breakfast? I had the more prosaic eggs and bacon which was - prosaic. The menu is extensive but we can only talk about the breakfast we had. There is another Gateway Diner in Newburgh with the same owners and menu. You better be sure you know what you are looking for if you want to find this diner. The only identification outside is DINER. We asked some customers on the way in if this was indeed the Gateway Diner. It was. Best, Terry

The food is okay, Ive dined in and had good service but more recently ordered for delivery and had a not so good experience. I looked at the menu on their website and ordered based on the pricing found there. After ordering, my total was much higher than priced on the site. When I asked about it they had no clue what I was talking about then casually dismissed it saying the pricing was out of date. They did not honor their pricing as listed on their site. The food was overpriced to begin with. Upon delivery, they forgot several items in the order. They remedied this by giving me a free dessert. I understand that people make mistakes, so my rating is generous. I just cant justify the cost of food here. Wont eat here again

today i went there with my wife for some breakfast and i ordered a basic breakfast, eggs, potatoes, toast, sausage, and coffee. Simple right? my potatoes were rotten and horrible. i thought it was me, but my wife the same about her potatoes on her plate. As we left and went to pay i told, i believe, the owner or the GM about my concern over the food nicely. i get a response that i didnt expect. Rude, unfriendly, unprofessional, and hostile. he said "Dont give me that BS i eat the potatoes and there is nothing wrong with them." For real? Then i said that i am the customer, and he replied with "Malaka." or Μαλάκα in greek or whatever he is. He called me an A**hole. Google Translated it. Are you kidding me?? DONT GO THERE!

I ordered m & m pancakes with eggs and fries. It seems very simple but for some reason i got no fries and Guess what, they used Peanut m&ms, when i took the first i notice it. But what if i was allergic to peanuts, i could have sued them for a lot of money. i loved the boneless burbon wings

Great fresh food at reasonable price. Great place to come before or after a nice walk along the Walkway Over the Hudson or the HV Rail trail. Great home town atmosphere. I came here as a kid and now I bring my children here to eat.

The food is not so great breakfast is probably the best thing to get there but the staff are very very nice people we enjoy going there even just for a cup of coffee because the staff is great

Horrible, I ordered a steak and literally got ground beef mushed into a steak shape. The food at the salad bar was very old and shouldve been thrown out. Definatley NEVER going back again!
