The "NEW" Jewel of India!! A new owner/chef has taken over the old Jewel of India on Hertel Avenue (we were told he was previous owner of Star of India). My wife and I have tried many local Indian restaurants and we are both in agreement that we love the New Jewel of India the best. We really liked the food before the new ownership, but we love the food now... the flavors are so much more noticeable and rich, the meat is tender, not to mention an excellent variety of vegetarian choices for all palates (my wife is vegetarian). Besides the excellent and delicate flavors the owner often comes out to the table to see how your food and service was (this was a nice touch). We will be sure to frequent this establishment and we HIGHLY recommend that you give it a try... you wont be disappointed. BTW, order any of the Makhani dishes (or Tandoori dishes), see how amazing the flavors is for yourself!

Dont buy a Groupon for this restaurant! I purchased a Groupon, valued at $50 for Jewel of India. I went there with a group of (5) people. There were 2 adults, and 3 kids. They do not have a kids menu, so we ordered (4) adult meals. They refused to accept my Groupon because the owner claimed we need to have (4) adults at the table. The fine print of the Groupon states: "Must have at least 4 people at the table for the $50 value option." No where in this fine print is there any type of age limit, or does it say adults. The worst part was the manager refused to come speak to us, she kept sending the server back after we repeatedly asked to speak with her, so she could explain to us why our groupon was not valid. It was the most awful customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant.

We are from Seattle, WA and were visiting Niagara Falls when we decided to venture into NY to eat dinner. We found this "jewel" that got great reviews. We walked into a friendly, comfortable, and clean restaurant. Our server was nice, helpful with the menu, and appropriately friendly. I would guess that based on what we got and what I saw others get that the entire menu is good. We were very pleased with our dishes and ate until we were stuffed. Good Chai Tea and Lassis too! Wish this restaurant was in our neighborhood. They have a parking lot to the west of the building as well as street parking.

We went in based on the positive reviews on google but it was not worth the trip at all. I ordered chicken tikka masala and my husband ordered lamb briyani. The chicken in mine tasted almost uncooked, I ate around it, the sauce was reasonable I guess but even the color was yellowish I suppose to the orange color a masala dish usually is. My husbands Briyani had broccoli which was very unusual but it tasted cheap! Was a waste of money, I do not recommend this place. The staff was not all the welcoming either I thought.

Came here for the first time with friends who had been before. New Jewel of India is one of the best restaurants Ive been to. Had their naan, spicy chicken curry, a couple of appetizers, and a pot of chai. Food was hot, delicious, got to us quickly, and the portions were generous. Our server was helpful, kind, and really hilarious! The cook even came out to say hello and ask how the food was. I wont spend my money on another Indian restaurant, I will definitely be a return customer!

Fantastic service. Owner lady is always super friendly. I used to not care for Indian food....this place has completely changed that and will continue to consistently be the ONLY place I will ever go to for Indian food!! Why go anywhere else when the food here is absolutely perfect, its family owned, and the family who own it have never been anything but super sweet and more than willing to accommodate and provide excellent service.

I ate brunch and wasnt impressed with the vegetarian options. Looked like a lot of choices for meat eaters. However I dont eat cheese or fried food so there was only a couple options there for me and the options were not that wonderful. I had the Black Daal and some cauliflower and potatoes dish. Not my favorite Indian restaurant in the buffalo area and wouldnt have paid that much for what I actually enjoyed eating.

My boyfriend and I live forty minutes out of the city but we still make a point to come here at least once a week to get our fill of spice. Jewel of India is by far our favorite place to go for Indian dishes. Stock full of flavor, a whole vegan/vegetarian menu, and the sweetest owners in the world. By the way, their chana masala and okra bhaji is out of this world. (You should go get some)

Wonderful place. Family owned and operated, giving the place a special feel. The food is wonderful and doesnt upset my sensitive tummy. When you order delivery, the food is always hot, on time, and consistent. Dont know what to order? Try their buffet on Thursday evenings and you can try a little of everything. Autism friendly atmosphere as it is quiet with soft lighting.

Uncooked briyani and old chicken with fowl smell. This is a terrible restaurant which I have ever eaten. When you say the food is uncooked, these guys are really harsh. And the lady here thrown the plates when we say the food is uncooked.such a rude customer service which I have ever seen. Its a big no no to this restaurant

Absolutely the best place to get indian in the entire area. Home-cooked, lovingly made, and better than you will get anywhere else. This is family owned; theres more heart in it. Excellent service; polite, friendly, and funny, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. Why are you still reading reviews go eat here now.

Food was delicious, service not so much. It was buffet night and we ordered from the menu - maybe that was the problem. But we had to ask twice for a glass of wine and our bill and they never came to refill our water or to ask if all was okay. Nevertheless, we will try again. As I said - food was delicious!

This place is awesome! I am so glad that we found it Buffalo NY area. The Punjabi restaurant serves up fresh, hot great food. Then owner is Panjabi so you get real test of Panjab. Food is amazing, homestyle with reasonable cost and their butter roti is best which I never had before.

Delicious! Wide variety of food on the buffet (Thursday evening, Saturday lunch) always the best quality and fresh. The dinner menu has a huge selection and they will adjust the spiciness for your taste. Excellent, friendly service a d the restaurant is clean.
