Avoid this place at any cost. Dishonest owner. Understand they have lunch buffet hours. If I reach at almost end of the time, they may not be able to serve... Got it. On reaching there, The owner says take seat & start. On having a quick look at the self-service counter, I noticed most items are either finished or very little is left on edge of the pots. On checking, the owner said, not to worry, more food is on its way. We were happy thinking all reviews below re service are true indeed. The owner then collects the left over in each square serving tray, walk to us as if nothing happened. He was asking why we are not starting? On highlighting again re food, he said thats all he can offer. They (his employees) refused to cook more. Being tired + hungry, we decided to eat it, I showed him half the trays are empty and if he is willing to offer a discount. Instead of saying yes or no, he gave us sarcastic look as if we are begging. We walked out after being ill treated and wasting 25 minutes. Such insensitive and dishonest person did not have courtesy to offer apologies for wasting time. God knows what he put in his ingredients. Stay away.

Many wouldnt agree with me, but since I appreciate good food and I am an Indian, puts me in a right spot to judge the food served here. Firstly the food is amazingly yummy. It is fresh and nicely served. I have tried taste of India, moti mahal, kabab & curry and few others in Niagara falls but nothing comes close to the satisfaction I get when i leave this place. I stay quite far from elmwood, but the ride to this place is worth it. I leave happy. They dont provide parking but so dont most other restaurants on elmwood, doesnt make them bad. There is parking right behind the restaurant (1$ for 2 hours), which according to me is acceptable. Enjoy the food, try chicken/ lamb madrasi, mughlai, chilli. theyre yummy..

We are never disappointed at India Gate, a family owned and run business where they really care about quality and service. Mr. Singh Bath, the owner/host, is a gracious and delightful man who will come to your table throughout your meal to make sure that everything is right, and to engage you in interesting conversation if you care to talk with him. He loves Buffalo, enjoys his work, and truly appreciates and remembers his customers! India Gate is reasonably priced, comfortable and authentic. We tried another, newer place in North Buffalo (name withheld) a few weeks ago, and it didnt compare. Watch for India Gates new patio to be opening in time for summer.

Awful experience. We reached the restaurant on Sunday around 12 pm (during the long weekend). There was only 1 family apart from us. The Pakora which was served was from previous day and only little was left. When we asked the waiter to bring more pakoras they got the newly prepared pakoras. I believe they were waiting for the old stock to get over before they start serving the new ones. When we told this to the waiter who served the food it was obvious that they didnt want to listen. He showed no interest and did not even apologize. The other food were just ok.

My husband and i were looking for AUTHENTIC Indian food and we googled india gate and to no avail, we made way to the restaurant. We ate lamb biryani and it was very delicious. Not dry and was all moist and juicy. We went back for the buffet and they had a lot of variety from chicken curry to vegetarian meals. Buffet is really cheap and is really worth the money. We will come back for the tandoori chicken because we saw a lot of customers ordering them and the smell still lingers in my nose.

We had gone to Niagara Falls and had very bad experience with the food there. Someone suggested this restaurant to us and believe me, we had a great experience. The food tastes really good and the service is also good. They do not rush you into anything and give you time and space to relish the good food. We had a buffet (only $8 !!!!), which had good variety of food. The appetizers were good too. It was worth a drive from Niagara Falls. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The best and tastiest indian food I had in buffalo. We came to visit niagara and the indian restaurants around niagara falls area are total waste. This restaurant is little far from niagara but worth a drive. I would reccommend this place for the best indian food in buffalo. Service is prompt and I was greeted with a smile. Staff is friendly and courteous. Their buffet has a lot of variety and every dish is tasty. Definitely recommended.

I have been to a lot of indian restaurants in buffalo, but India gate is my favorite place to eat. The entire staff is very welcoming and the food is just amazing. i go here whenever i miss home and that is like 3-4 times a week. I have never been disappointed with the food and the people. i suggested them to change the music and now they play different type of indian music everytime i go.

Very slow service. Kind of rude with customers. Server is forcing us to order our food all at a time. And if you are looking for dhum non-veg biryani, you will be served with a combo of fried rice, broccoli, some veggies and boiled meat. Broccoli in indian dhum biryani ?! Seriously ?! And Indian music doesnt only have "thuje dheka tho". Please update your music box

The only reason I gave two stars was because of their good service. The appetizers we had were not bad and the green chutney goes very well with any appetizer. But the entrees we got were very dissapointing. The chicken vindaloo is one of the awful dishes I had. It may even top the list. I hope they focus on their food because that good service deserves good food.

Visited with few friends....i was disappointed with my dish. Ordered "Goat Biriani"...hardly any meat in there...counted...only 4 small pieces of meat + 1 bone...in a large amount of too oily rice....couldnt even eat half of it...my friends though liked their dishes...probably they didnt wanna disappoint me as i kinda suggested to check out this place...

We came her for their buffet special for lunch and the food was very good. Everything was fresh and very nice spices. Their goat curry is awesome. Could use a little design and decor work inside but overall it was a nice place for Indian food. Very reasonable for their buffet lunch.

But, the foods bland. Every once in a while I get hungry for Indian, yet am feeling too lazy to cook - or trek out to Amherst. So, I go back to India Gate. The foods not bad, but its not very tasty. Maybe the meat dishes are better. The Veg dishes are flat and way too salty.
