If you like spicy Indian food, dont miss this little gem in MacGregor Shopping plaza off of 64. Just be aware that they make their food to order so its often a good idea to call it in if youre pressed on time. Cilantro is counter-order and the food is then brought to your table but its not a quick-casual meal as you would expect. Ive tried their butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and their tandoori wings many times. Served with a side of chana masala, rice and naan, youre going to have a delicious and spicy meal. Just be aware that their spiciness level is the highest Ive run into in the Triangle so if you like it spicy, medium may be more than enough. For the spice-averse, Cilantro is probably not a good choice. But if you enjoy Indian eats, Cilantro is one of the tastiest choices around...

This place serves up good food in decent quantities. The place is decorated well. I was a little surprised this was order first, they give you a number and bring the food to you kind of service -- not a table service restaurant. The dining area was decorated nicely and it has an upstairs. The order area is more like a fast food ordering place so the contrast is striking. I could not make our what kind of restaurant it wants to be. The food tasted very good. The service was adequate. The prices are high for "counter service"... some dishes are $10 but others are $16. The lamb biryani has a nice flavorful kick to to. The chicken korma was tasty and the naan was fresh.

Great ambiance : They have a decent and moderate environment. They havent tried to decorate with cheap gaudy stuff to "Over Indianize" the atmosphere. Its mildly and tastefully decorated. EXCELLENT food : I like the food overall but their chicken dishes are awesome particularly (chicken wings and Chicken Curry (cant recollect its name). Oh yes, CAKES they are delicious and too good to miss..I loved Strawberry one but took a bite from my sons plate of Coffee cake. Loved both, they were very different from what I usually find at other places. Courteous Staff : The staff was very courteous and accommodating with smile.

My wife and I went here for lunch today. The restaurant was very modern, very clean and obviously well run. We ordered our food from the clear and easy-to-read menu and picked out our seats. Our food was brought to us quickly. Wow. This was some of the best Indian food Ive ever eaten, and Ive tried loads of Indian restaurants in Western Wake. While we were thoroughly enjoying our food, the owner came by twice to very politely check if everything was living up to expectations. Our answer was an astounding Yes. This is a top-notch establishment with fair prices and extraordinary food. We will be back often.

Great menu choices. Food beautiful, fresh and delicious. However all three meals were too spicy and too salty. We did not notice any " heat advisory " on the menu and were not asked about desired spice levels. So beware! Food took way too long to arrive and then one meal was brought out 5-10 min before the others. Our prepaid dessert did not show up and we had to ask/negotiate for it . They dont serve any alcohol, contrary to google maps info. Even with all these negatives I thought the food was really good. So 4 stars and one more chance.

The best indian food I have ever had. I have tried almost all the indian places in RTP area and none of them come close to Cilantro. Food is fresh, authentic, and really tasty. I have been here almost 50 times now (over the past 1.5 years) and not once did I have bad experience or bad food. FYI: It does get busy at lunch time. The staff is really nice. The restaurant looks very modern. It does not have a traditional Indian restaurant look to it. The desserts are Amazing!!!!! Better than what you get from most bakeries.

First visit to Cilantro: Took my Mom and daughter out for dinner. Extremely good and friendly service. Ingredients fresh. Probably the best Indian food I have ever had. Perfectly seasoned. I chose this place based on reviews. I think they have only been open for business for 2 months and I think its important to post reviews for new businesses that offer quality food and service. I am also happy their curries and sauces are gluten free. Prices are great, too. We will definitely be back.

New location for this restaurant. Ordered takeout on Saturday (Mar 8) and it took over an hour for our food to be ready. They had a huge order ahead of us, but they were not prepared. They did offer a free dessert (a slice of their chocolate and peanut butter mousse pie) to make up for it, which was delicious. Once the food was home, it was spicier (even the raita was spicy) and the portion size was smaller than usual, so I didnt feel it was a good value for the money spent.

This is a great Indian food place with a great look and friendly and attentive staff. The food comes out quickly and does not disappointed. They have mild dishes right up through the make you hiccup when you smell it its so spicy hot. The only reason this isnt a 5 star is that cilantro is a tad pricy in my book, 15 bucks for lunch before drink and tip is a lot. If this place was a touch less expensive it would be on a weekly rotation...

The best Indian food in the Triangle and my personal favorite restaurant period in the area. This place is just incredible with its spices and flavors and the staff is terrific. One word of warning, their food is a little spicier than your average Indian restaurant but if you like spicy this place is for you. Also for vegetarians theres some great options and they will make most of their vegetarian dishes vegan on request.

I just tried Cilantro last night for the first time last evening and the food was wonderful! The curry was flavorful and spiced just right, the naan was great, and the food was plentiful. There is a very enticing display of desserts as you enter (tiramisu, cheesecake, cakes). Cilantro is also decorated beautifully, and has inspiring quotes posted throughout. The staff were helpful and very polite. Well definitely be back!!

I work close by so this is always a great option for lunch to call and have it ready for us. Love the biryani the most - their combination of spices is perfect. The staff is always super helpful and accommodating to any requests. The dessert case is always full of temptations that are absolutely delicious. I have to share a piece most days - get a couple and split them in a group for the most variety.

Taste is good. But this is not authenticate Indian restaurant. This is more of americanized Indian restaurant. We had chicken karahi, it is unique and tasted good. But did not like butter nan much. Biryani also is totally different and did not get the feel of spices. The chicken in Biryani and curry is little hard unlike other restaurants, My 4 year old couldnt eat it.

OMG.... The Butter Chicken was absolutely delicious and the flavors were so mouth watering along with the sides that came along with this dish. This café was recommended for lunch while I was in the area. Truly authentic and as recommended, I too will recommend and plan on returning to try the rest of their menu. This place should have 10 **********!
