I made a 7:30 reservation to go there to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. We got there 5 minutes late then waited ten minutes before anyone came to the front check-in stand. The restaurant seemed pretty full and when the hostess took us to our seats she brought us to this back room where it was cold, dark and barely decorated. The furniture was un-upholstered. Frankly, I have better furniture in my garage than what was in this back room. When you make a reservation you expect a nice table or booth waiting for you. And being a few minutes late should never be an issue. We waited in this cold dark room for another ten minutes before anyone came by that I could talk to. So I asked the hostess if she could get us a better table and she said it would take a few minutes and we could wait at the bar. So we go to the bar and there is no bar tender there and we wait another 15 minutes before anyone comes over and asks us if we would like a drink while we wait. I then ask young girl to talk to the manager. It turns out that the young girl who sat us was the nights manager. She comes over and heres my complaint and then she has the gaul to tell me that I showed up late for my reservation and that is why we did not get a nice table or booth. In all of my years dining out I have never been treated so poorly for showing up five minutes late for a reservation. And then we wound up waiting another thirty minutes just to have the opportunity to talk to someone. And when we did this manager was rude to us. What was strange was they sat other couples while we waited and one couple had two young kids who were screaming and crying. After talking with this rude manager we wound up walking out and got a terrific sushi dinner at another restaurant located up the street. And the atmosphere there was warm, inviting and the service was impeccable. I do not recommend Fuji Grill to anyone. I can only imagine that if they treat their customers so poorly just think how poorly they handle and prepare their food.

I didnt even know that Fuji Grill existed, and Ive been mourning the lack of sushi in the Buffalo area (I only know of "O" for non-Wegmans sushi, and it can get expensive there.) We went to Fuji for my birthday and it was amazing. The prices are reasonable for it being semi-fancy: rolls go from $4-14 for the daily specials. Entrees were $8-15. My boyfriend ordered chicken teriyaki and instead of the traditional "slab of chicken surrounded by broccoli" that most restaurants do, it was piled in an artistic arrangement with various veggies and crunchies on top. I ordered some very creative dragon and "sunset" rolls and they were so aesthetic we took pictures. They also have udon, more Chinese-style dishes, fried tempura ice cream, and a large selection of sake and liquors. The interior is small, so make reservations! Also, its in a strip mall, but dont be fooled!

Went 4/25/10, and absolutely loved it. Reasonably priced at 11-20 bucks a plate. Great decor and atmosphere. Waitress was super nice. Bumped into another one and she said excuse me, so thats a plus (manners being such a relic and all). Food is grade A, chef Ramsey quality, but word of advice: Beer was skunked, so dont order beer as I think they keep it unrefrigerated, but wine was great and soda was good too. I also went with my parents, and they have a habbit of saying some of the most offensive things without realizing theyre being offensive. I think my waitress overheard them, but she didnt seem to mind and continued to be warm and friendly. I really cant say enough good things about this place. It will be one of my favorites easily (and Im not that big on Sushi either).

Im Japanese, was born and raised in Hawaii and went to college in California. I thought for sure that when I moved out to Buffalo, there was no way I would find some really great Japanese food. I was SO wrong. This is easily some of the best Japanese food Ive ever had. Their chicken katsu is skinned (I hate it when its not), their donburi is as good as my moms (maybe better), and its definitely the best sushi/sashimi Ive had in Buffalo (the tempura tuna is godly). It can be on the expensive side, but its definitely worth the money if youre looking for some really good Japanese food.

Wont be going back. The place wasnt very full when we walked in and we still stood by uncomfortably at the door for a while until finally being seated. We then waited another several hoping that someone would offer us water or say something to us. Didnt happen. I guess if youre looking for a place to wait around waste some time maybe check it out, but if you actually want to eat or be greeted go somewhere else!

Great japaneese place and sushi bar. They served me a really interesting appetizer on the house for no apparent reason. Just brought it out and said enjoy! Also I got the "out of controll roll" and it was rediculous how much meat was on this thing and it was damn good. Wish I could reward then by coming back but Im an out of towner.

My wife treated me to sushi for my birthday. I got the sushi regular. Our kids split a grilled chicken and vegetable dish. Surprisingly there was a small chinese menu as well and my wife ordered general Taos chicken. The sushi was the best Ive had, and the other dishes were great as well. The 4 of us ate for under $40 too!

Wow! You would never expect this place to be this good from the outside! Took my wife and daughter out for our anniversary. Daughter had the Angry Dragon, wife had the Rainbow Roll and both were absolutely thrilled with it. I dont eat sushi, so got the Beef Zugeyaki, which was quite tasty. Will definitely return.

Came in with a party of 7, food was delivered shortly after ordering. Amazing! Presentation was awesome, very creative for all of our dishes. Those that were vegetarian they accommodated and subbed in tofu with no problem. The sushi was to die for, the server was very friendly. Cant wait to go back :D

Food was excellent. Had the seafood salad which was a lot of different raw fish on a bed of mixed greens with a sesame dressing. The seafood was super fresh. It was like sushi with out all the rice and extras. Also had shrimp teriyaki this was also fantastic. Highly recommend.

One of the top sushi destinations in WNY. You can argue about Kunis and SeaBar, but there is NO argument that Fuji is the best outside the city. Excellent service, nice ambiance, good list of not-sushi to order from. But really, come here and order sushi.

If you are looking for sushi, this is the place. The fish is very high quality and very fresh. The best sushi I have eaten outside of Japan and the presentation is stunning too! Waitstaff is friendly. Overall great place- highly recommended!

Pretty good overall, but now that Ive been to taisho bistro the Japanese throne was taken away. Sushi is great. Everyone in my family loves all the food, not just the sushi. As the others have said, the outside is very misleading.
