This place is a diamond in the rough. The neighborhood seems iffy. But when you walk inside the atmosphere is very nice. It looks like it may be slightly updated since the last reviews. We ordered 2 rolls of sushi and 2 entrees then decided to get a crab salad as well because it was recommended in another review . We also got edema and a soup as kind of "freebies". I think it was meso soup, but it was very flavorful compared to other places Ive had. We got these little cooked crab cakes that we thought were our salads. They were yummy! Turns out they were freebies too. When we got our crab salad we were pretty much full! It was very good, too. Our hibichi entrees came with fried tempura vegetables, a ginger salad, a few sushi pieces and a fried sushi peice! It was served in a divided box style. The hibichi was very good as well. It had a white creamy sauce and was served over a bed of white rice. We accidentally had a feast! I will definitely go back again.

This is my favorite sushi place in the triangle. Mr. Yung, the owner is hilarious and hes got a wonderful friendly staff trained. A fixture of the community, you can really tell they care about their food and the people that go there. Theres always extras and the price is unbelievably cheap. Plus, the best part is, the owner talked my bf into asking me out apparently after he took me there on a date and the rest is shall we say history. A delicious, wonderful, happy history. This is an awesome date place. You really cant go wrong here. The food is cheap, yummy, and the service is wonderful. Good luck on your next night there. PS-Tuesday night is one of the best nights to go for a first time.

If your not Asian prepared to be hated on! My girlfriend and I came her to meet some friends of hers for a friends birthday, they had accommodated us a big table which was nice. My only problem with this place is that they are racist toward white people they brought me a sweet tea when I asked for water and we were with friends who are asian and when are food came out a friend of hers who was white was given french fries with his meal when he asked the asian friends at our table they said they did that because you white. I got sushi instead, it definitely didnt taste fresh and the fried sushi tasted burnt. I wont being going back here!

Traditional Japanese sushi with quality food and cozy atmosphere. The sushi is more expensive than some other places and no bogo rolls, but very fresh, and well crafted. They serve traditional Japanese beer and high quality sake. The seaweed salad was top notch and they serve fruit as a pallet cleanser to finish the meal. The space is somewhat small, so this place seems most ideal for a quiet family meal or date, rather than large a group gathering. The lighting was too dim in my opinion. Overall, a good dining experience. I can tell the owner really cares about their business and traditional Japanese cuisine.

I love Sushi. The sushi here has alot to be desired. Maybe other items are as great as the reviews say or they have never had good sushi. This is our 2nd time here. Both times the older lady that waits on you was rude and always smerks and in a hurry. The first time we were having a late supper and the staff was extremely rude when we were not finished eating and out the door at 10pm. The food is presented nicely, but for the price go elsewhere and eat on a buffet. Dont order the tea, its nasty and when you return it she gives you smerks again. I will not be returning!

This is sushi the way it SHOULD be! Ive eaten sushi all over the country, at some very expensive and fancy places, and this is where I always come back. The chef is the real deal, aka did the proper entire 8 year apprenticeship in Japan to become Master. And it shows in the attention to detail and perfection youll get on your plate! If you want a fancy snazzy place with flair this isnt for you. The decor is minimalist and nothing is at all flamboyant. But if you want real Japanese cuisine, youll be in the right place!

Ive been eating at Little Tokyo in Cary for 25 + years. While Im sure it has changed ownership from time to time, I have always enjoyed it.If you want expensive atmosphere, you probably will not like it. But I like the small family atmosphere and the food has always been good. And on the rare occasion something has not been ok(usually my wifes food , shes picky sometimes) they have always been accommodating and fixed any problem we had. My son and I are going ther for lunch today. I expect the food to be as good as ever.

Its true that the location could be much better, but the sushi is hard to beat. My wife and I have eaten sushi in every major (and many minor) cities in the US and this is on par with some of the best. Its not Nobu, but it is excellent for lunch and dinner. I recommend the Kissme roll and the spicy scallop nigiri sushi (not on the menu but they will make it for you). Give it try. You will not be disappointed. Be aware, it can fill up quickly for both lunch and dinner since the seating is limited. Enjoy!

Try the Sushi Appetizer before you Die. thats one of my all time favs... I did really enjoy going there and eating a huge amount of Sushi and sashimi.. man it was tender and quick....our waiter did need to stop talking to the lady in the front but overall, I love the sushi. didnt try anything on the menu except the steamed gyoza, and that was very tasty...So go try it b/c I am a Reviewing Fool...i like reviewing restaurants...too bad i couldnt do this for a living

Ive been coming here for years, and the main waitress has gotten to know my family and me well, and is always very kind to us. I still love the food here and come whenever I remember to. I remember coming here since I was about ten years old, and Ive always loved coming here. Sometimes they go up and down in quality, but I know they are an overall good place to eat at. c:

I go there from time to time. While the decor is not fancy, the friendly and attentive staff make up for it easily. I find their sushi the best thing they have to offer The prices are very reasonable. Overall a very good value I like supporting them because it is family own restaurants like them that help maintain the diversity of choice we enjoy Good job.

The server was sweet, but what really made me happy was the price point. $12 will get you all you need: the Sushi & Sashimi Bento was such a great choice. It comes with the chefs special roll of the day (4pcs.) So I recommend this if you like sashimi & nigiri. Some free green tea and some (average-priced) hot sake made for a great meal.

Me and my friend used to be regulars after terrible customer service experience . Very nasty and pushy waitress that is there almost everyday messed up our food on multiple occasions and never apologized and even followed us out to our car to ask about the bad tip. Disguted! I recommend Ginza or sushi Nine will NOT be returning
