I waited a few days to write this review... heres why. We didnt mind the 15 minute wait to be seated, thankfully we got there before a big crowd showed. After being seated our server introduced herself and we ordered our drinks. Water all around and one coffee, which came via coffee press. Cute. Yes. It was around 10 am when we finally ordered. We know this because we fired off several text messages to friends and family while we waited for the yumminess to arrive. Ordered: Duck Hash, scrambled eggs with onions and a side of grits. Duck Hash, fried egg Biscuits and Gravy After about 15 minutes we began to wonder when our delicious food would arrive. We sat back and relaxed and colored on the paper table cloth they provided. It was fun. We noticed the table that was sat after we claimed our table had gotten their food before we did. So far twenty-five minutes had past. The party that was seated next to us left and another arrived. The server returned and greeted them. I flagged her down and asked politely where our food was. She answered, "Its very busy, the cooks are behind," and walked away. She later returned and took the guests at the next tables order. So far 35 minutes had past. She returned four minutes later and stated that the food would be out in ten minutes. So a total of 45 mins to wait. We said no, wed pay for the coffee and leave. She got defensive and said it wasnt her fault. Clearly she and/or the kitchen staff lost/forgot our order/ticket. She brought the check with everything comped except one Duck Hash. When the food finally arrived the eggs looked dry, the biscuits and gravy had a film over it as if it had been sitting for a while. We told her we would be leaving and left money for the coffee and a tip. Not a good experience.

I was originally going to rate Egg 1 star, but the food was so good I decided to bump it up to 2. Let’s start with the pros: the FOOD. Everything about our food was delicious and fresh with a fair amount of vegetarian options. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. If you decide to go, be sure to try their hash browns – some of the best I’ve ever had (and this is coming from a person who doesn’t really care for hash browns). The décor inside was fresh and minimalist – a pleasant environment to brunch. The cons: After being seated, it took over 15 minutes for the waitress to come by and take our order for coffee. Our waitress seemed hungover and peeved. I ordered the “2 Eggs, any style” plate and asked if I could get 1 over easy and 1 scrambled. The waitress convinced me that it would be “a lot of trouble” to do that, so I was guilted into getting 2 scrambled. Not what I wanted, but hey, no big deal. We waited another 15 minutes for our coffee to come out, and another 15 for our food to arrive. We were sitting with our finished plates for about 20 minutes before my boyfriend had to get up and request the check from our inattentive waitress. By this time we were fuming at the horrible service. We paid and left as fast as we could. Judging by the other reviews of this restaurant, most people didn’t have as bad service as we did. All in all, if you’re ok with risking the potentially terrible service and leaving brunch angry, I’d suggest giving Egg a try.

Food is really really yummy. The service.... Dreadful, laughably bad. I know places get busy and stressful, I was a waitress for a long time, its a crappy job, but the sheer amount of disdain and utter rudeness was just funny! And when you pay 30 dollars for 1 breakfast 1 coffee and 2 sides its actually unacceptable. We also accidentally left our housemates new unopened bagel in a sealed paper bag on the table, went back less than 10 minutes later to pick it up and they didnt know where it was, just said it had probably been thrown away. 5 dollar bagel plus a 5 dollar tip just thrown away..... Shame as the food is very tasty. The waitress was also REALLY rude to the customers waiting to be seated "THERES A LIST, WRITE YOUR NAME DOWN". This could be a one off and maybe the service is really good, just thought that no one should be treated with such a manner, regardless of the situation.

Delicious fresh juice and good coffee but that was all. Egg is a fairly hip little cafe that presents modern/new American cuisine: pancakes and biscuits & gravy, eggs and bacon etc. My New York chef friend makes amazing biscuits that have visible layers in them. I think she used a ton of butter. I was hoping that Eggs biscuits and gravy with mushrooms would be cool- cowboy food with a twist. Maybe have some big fat juicy field mushrooms on the side and some delicious gravy rather than the bowl of grey gunk with submerged dry scone type things. It was so gross that I could barely touch it. Went home and lay down for a while to get over the heaviness in my stomach. My daughter felt equally disappointed in her egg and bacon breakfast. It was too heavy and lacked imagination, freshness and creativity. The orange juice was freshly squeezed, sweet and delicious. Good coffee too.

The breakfast tastes great, but the portions are really small. Finish your whole plate and youre still hungry. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs and my plate had more bread than eggs. It seemed like it was 1 egg. There hash browns were different, had a spicy touch to it. Was it special? No. Was it different? Yes. The worst thing about the restaurant are the waiters. Our waiter didnt smile, didnt greet, didnt tell us whats special, didnt tell us anything about the food either. He wasnt rude, but Id say, uncaring for sure. The restaurant has your typical Williamsburg artsy decor, and theres decent seating available as well. Overall, I am not visiting again because the portions are small and the waiters are not friendly.

food is delicious, because a lot of people dining, if you are more than two people, need to wait about 20 minutes,I suggest to eat before noon the best, try not get there on weekend.餐點的味道還不錯,吐司系列的餐點比較推薦,用餐時段會有很多人,盡量在中午之前過去,也盡量避開週末過去,因為超過2個人的話,可能要等20分鐘左右。

So... things I liked about egg: the crayons on the table for you to draw on the tablecloth, the kale that came with my brunch, the name of my lunch (the Rothko), the crayons (did I mention the crayons?). And... things I wasnt so fond of... the wait and the service. We deliberately came here midweek to avoid the weekend queues. When we arrived, all the other tables except one already had their food so we figured ours would come quickly. Except it took our waiter quite a while to even take our order and then a good 25 minutes for our food to arrive. By this time I would have eaten the crayons I was so hungry. The food was great when it came but the wait meant we were too hungry to really appreciate it.

My kingdom for more syrup. I got breakfast at Egg this morning, and ironically did not order any eggs. Is this review valid? I still think so. I had pancakes which came with a tiny cup of syrup for three very wide pancakes. It was not enough syrup; I probably could have asked for more, but Im not some 13th century peasant living in the dark ages casting about for spare syrup. Minus one star. The hash browns were a perfectly cooked shredded potato mass with just enough salt and pepper, and the homemade sausage was very good. Unfortunately it took them a while to clear my table while I was sitting there staring at my iPhone like an idiot. Minus one star for that.
