I dined here before a Nets game around 6pm before a 7:30pm game and that was certainly the time to arrive as within a few minutes, the place was packed and not in a good way. Its a bit cramped, very loud and hard to fully use your elbows when dining since they cram the tables in. Perhaps its better in the warmer months when the huge backyard is open. From 4-6:30pm, they offer a happy hour menu with ~$4 drinks and reduced price (and size) plates though are initially inflexible about adjustments like asking for dressing on the side or adding grilled chicken to a happy hour salad (despite my offers to pay full price). Eventually, the meal was delivered as I required based on my dietary requirements. Other than that, its a nice space with wooden booths (limited amount) a pretty decent beer selection and otherwise friendly staff. When compared to its sister restaurant Hamiltons in Kensington, the space is a bit nicer and menu more extensive, but Id stick with Hamiltons as I like the crowd better. They DO accept credit cards despite a lack of stickers on the front door.

Much like the wizards of old, who tried to turn lead into gold, Alchemy has turned bar food into a top flight meal. While so many bars in the area offer good drinks with a passable, if often absent dining experience, Alchemy is the rare place that does both great. Having come here for dinner with some friends, this dimly lit bar serves up top notch meals, namely their grilled chicken sandwich. Succulent white meat served on a delicious cibatta roll would make a fantastic sandwich, but Alchemy turns it up a notch by adding top notch bacon and avacado to the equation. (On another occasion I tried the burger, and while good, pales in comparison to the chicken sandwich). Seating is cozy indoors, with a backyard for drinks in the summer. Although small in size, theres almost never a wait for a seat or a table.

Awful service, mediocre food. Waitress didnt even smile once the entire time we were there. A friend ordered his steak medium rare, and it came out with no pink. The waitress didnt even apologize and ask if he wanted another steak, she just said "so you dont want it?" and took it away (we had to fight her to get it off the bill!). We asked for a manager, but she was just as useless. If you want to be looked down on by an entirely incompetent staff, this is the place for you!

This place is awesome. Ive been here 2-3 times for brunch and once for dinner. I always get the Eggs Benedict, which is pretty awesome. I got the burger for dinner one night, and it was delicious. If you go to brunch and love coffee, get a cup. Its fair trade organic and is delicious. Servers are always super nice (especially Hayden) and the decor is typically awesome Brooklyn - booths and brick walls, and theres a bar. Highly recommended.

we ordered eggs florentine and the eggs and chorizo and both dishes were fantastic. the eggs were cooked PERFECTLY. the jalapeno grits were insanely good. the only downside was our waitress was super, super slow and annoyingly over the top (which would have been fine if she hadnt taken 20 minutes to bring the check and 10 minutes to take our order - thank god for food runners).

Alchemy offers healthy dishes like the grass-fed burger, it has a hip bar, the weekend brunch is amazing (I recommend the French Toast or Pancakes), the outdoor area is a perfect spot for summer days - what more could you want? Oh yeah, and its perfect for kids (not too late of course), and perfect for date nights - both occasions of which Ive participated =]

Alchemy is a mix of casual bar atmosphere with delicious food. With a name like Alchemy I expected something more pretentious and some type of gastronomic experimentation. But instead, I found a cozy, neighborhood bar atmosphere with a good white bean soup and a tasty salmon entree. The alchemy part comes with dessert from the lab (Il Laboratorio).

Great brunch place in Park Slope. Their hamburger is my favorite thing on the menu (very juicy), but their Guinness pancakes and brioche french toast are also delicious. Its set up with an Irish pub and offers outdoor seating in the summer and spring. There will usually be a wait for seating around lunch/brunch time, but its well worth the wait.

I daresay this Brooklyn spot praised for dinner is not going to be my go to brunch spot. It was surprisingly quiet and my Guinness pancakes, though intriguing, were slightly underwhelming. The Guinness flavor was faint and the pancakes flat, rather than fluffy. Next time, Ill be sure to visit later in the day, with fish and chips the likely order.

Eh on everything except the company. Actually the 1st Bloody Mary was delicious with just the right spiciness for me. The second was made by another bartender and proportions were off somehow...Another batch Im guessing. Burger was at best mediocre in flavor. Also make sure you check expiration on condiments at table. Trust me on this one.

This place is awesome for brunch. They are always crowded and in the warmer months they have a nice little outdoor patio area. The bar is great and the people are friendly. It is a bit small, but cozy inside. I love the dark red brick walls. Brunch is mostly egg dishes, with some other sweet brunch options too.

Service excellent. Burghers were really good. Mac and cheese very good. Dont get fish and chips. Very disappointing. tasted like they were previously made and warmed in a microwave. Hanger steak was tasty but chewy. Great Beer selection and white wine was cold. Bottle of water on table a nice touch.

Dropped in by chance for an after-work draft one HOT summer day and ended up calling my wife to join me there for dinner. Great, knowledgeable staff, very good pub food, welcoming atmosphere and intriguing rotation of beers and ales. Happy Hour plates are good value. Our go-to bar in the Slope.

Ive been coming to Alchemy pretty regularly since I first discovered it. The mussel deal on Mondays is great. Their burgers are great. Their spicy penne is pretty good. Theyve got a great beer selection. Some nice seating in the back. Decent beer selection, and friendly and quick service.

Probably the best cocktails my wife and I have had in New York City. We had three and all were consistently fantastic which is incredibly rare. The drinks were surprisingly affordable and the staff was really friendly. I couldnt recommend this place enough and will definitely be back.

My wife and I really enjoy the atmosphere and food here. Super laid-back and friendly. Not trying to be something theyre not. They have a full bar, but still family friendly during brunch and lunch hours. Great for a quick bite or a reasonably priced drink.
