When did it become more about the worker and less about the customer? So i had a fairly bad x-mas. My kids are in Miami, i went to my mothers house she wasnt home and i locked my self out of my apartment. So i really spend xmas alone. While waiting for the super to open my apartment. I said let me go to the new neighborhood bar and kill time because i didnt know how long i would be waiting. Its 8pm Im the first and only person. Female bartender is still setting up. She is all over the place. I sit at the bar second stool with my back to the window. Im on my phone going live on Facebook, doing some Instagram vids and try to see when to supper is gonna drop off my keys. The bartender come to me and says please dont sit at the bar is you are gonna talk on the phone. She has a pet peeve the pervents her from concentrating and it makes her feel left out. Im like what??????? I tell her my story and order a drink (we have a little small talk) even though I start to think she is a little off I get a facetime from my girl because she is concerned about my situation.( me being alone on xmas her and the kids are in Miami) I get up from the bar and take a seat at the window. I now have my back to the bar ( this is me being trying to be respectful). I get a tap on the shoulder. I asked you not to talk on the phone at the bar. You can go sit in the back room if you wanna talk. I told you this was my pet peeve and its also my xmas too. I leave 3 dollars on table put on my jacket and leave. I waited out my apartment for 30 mins but is was better than being in a bar with her.

My new favorite neighborhood bar. Here are some reasons why: 1) perfectly dimmed, warm lighting in the bar area, back room, and garden. 2) music is at a reasonable level, and there is no music at all in the back room, which means you can huddle around a table and chat with your mates. 3) decent beer selection. The Smuttynose Hayseed is a delicious session, which is important because this bar makes me want to lounge around and drink six of them. 4) really great wallpaper. Lots of people are commenting on the bathroom walls, which are indeed sexy, but the first green floral in the bar area is the single greatest use of unexpected bar decor that I have seen in ages.

They pour a Guinness the way they teach you at the factory in Ireland. That alone gives this place many points in my book. When Ive gone there, its been a nice quiet spot to saddle up to the bar for a bit. Those who like some deep cut nerd references will like the decor, but its not as heavy handed as some other bars I could name in Brooklyn. I look forward to seeing what they offer when the kitchen opens up.

Honestly, I could not be happier with Hinterlands coming to the neighborhood! Amazing atmosphere, great cocktails and super friendly bartenders. This is definitely my new neighborhood go-to for a beer or drink any night of the week! (plus, a kitchen coming soon!)

Cozy tables in back makes for a great way to kick back, room for twenty. Upfront the bar is very chill. Seasonal beers and collegial denizens make this bar friendly to locals. Kid friendly. Wheelchair accessible. Garden in back. Great bartender.

One of the highlights of my trip NY. Great atmosphere with the music at just the right volume as to not be too distracting. Stuart was great to chat with as was the other bartenders. Ill be coming back on my next visit to NY.

Still new as of this writing but I like it. Very chill atmosphere, a quiet backyard, very good happy hour and a bathroom thats wallpapered with old Dungeons and Dragons manuals. Food is apparently coming soon .

Great neighborhood bar. Much needed addition to a growing and changing neighborhood. The sandwiches and snacks are a great idea to have. Went on a quiet night and the bartenders were very nice!
