My family and I ate at the Windansea today for a late lunch/early dinner. I was pleasantly surprised when I called ahead to find there wasnt a wait. Its very difficult to find a restaurant with outdoor dining on the water that has no wait. We were promptly seated to a table for four on the patio. Our server was very eager to please. There was a short delay in getting the steamers we ordered for an appetizer, but our server and the manager got them out fairly quickly with plenty of apologies and I must say they were worth the wait. Dinner was delicious as well. I had the crab cake and lobster tail meal which was wonderful. My husband had the scallops and the kids ate mozzarella sticks and sliders. Everyone was very happy with their meal. We decided to have dessert even though we were all pretty stuffed. I was a little disappointed to find they were out of Key Lime Pie, but our server made the change to the Pecan Pie/Torte which was probably just as yummy. Thank you Windansea for a lovely meal on a beautiful August day. We would go back in a heartbeat.

One of my best friends got married here on friday . The wedding coordinator was a mess. They were promised the entire upstairs for the reception and the downstairs for ceremony. As the cemony was about to begin we noticed regular customers sitting at the bar. Seriously? And during the ceremony random people were walking in. The wedding coordinator was disorganized the entire time, stressing the bride as well as the groom. Nobody even asked if the bride or groom needed anything until the wedding was almost over. They paid good money for their wedding and what this place did to them was unacceptable. Personally, i feel they deserve a refund just for the aggrivation they were put through. DO NOT go here. She was rude, unattentive, and inexperienced.

We found this place from across the water in sandy hook. Its a cool place over lookimg the water. The food was good, not great. The bread and meat were burned not seared on our crab cake and burger. It was not terrible but there is room for improvement. Service was what you would expect. I think the service is good though. Its a huge place and the time it took to cook our food was a little long, but not gut wrenching. Would i return, maybe but not right away. I would like to explore a few more options in the area. Prices are a little high and my favorite spot is Mobys its quick cheap and done well. I am looking for a better sit down experience.

A place for the views and food. The WindanSea does both effortlessly, from the fresh fish to the great steaks they can do both sides of the culinary spectrum with little to no work. Being right on the water makes summertime a beautiful mix of sunshine and great food with live music a blast. Even dead of winter they excel at bringing the local foods into a piece of art on your plate. Additional to the great food their drink menu always lights up the outing from mixed drinks to locally brewed drafts. WindanSea does the utmost out of a restaurant on the water that you could imagine.

Expensive eat inside but food is excellent, especially the seafood. The dressing on the house salad is amazing. Save room for dessert. I prefer to frequent this place in the warmer weather so you can sit outside at the tiki bar have a few cocktails and enjoy the live bands. A must to get there early if you want to get a good seat at the bar near the band, you may have to have quite a few drinks before the bands starts playing. you can also sit outside and have a casual dinner. Burgers are amazing!

Find a restaurant with a great water view and great food and you have one in a million. Find a restaurant with a great water view and very good food and you have Windansea. Get there early or late and grab a table next to the rail. Watch the boaters try and dock in a side tidal current for a million laughs. Enjoy the calamari, venture into the land of crab cakes and flounder, relax and enjoy this really cool place by the sea. Dont worry Be happy

I am simply baffled by the poor reviews, Windansea is the best in the area. Nobody has better crab cakes and the fish tacos are to die for. Prices are more than reasonable, bartenders make a good drink and the view is top notch. I love this restaurant and would recommend it over bahrs, moby's, on the dock, off the hook, pirates cove and even salt creek grille. It must be people from these restaurants writing the other reviews!

Really good food, great music. A bit on the expensive side for outside dining and beverages but THEY have HALF OFF specials before 6:30 pm SO get their early eat some delicious food have a few drinks and spend the night dancing to great music from many great local bands. My suggestion is definitely bacon wrapped scallops drizzled with maple syrup.....delicious Bon Appetite

We had a nice time here. The food was good and didnt seem over priced. We sat outside and enjoyed the view as well as the old hippy who played his guitar and sang some of the old hits of Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, etc. Not too much Jimmy Buffett which was a bit of a disappointment to me. Over all it was a pleasant evening and I would go back.

Nice patio. Okay menu selections. Great views. Scallops wrapped in bacon are worth it. Mahi tacos very well done and pretty spicy. Pork sliders also very good and the slaw was great. Prices were too high though but I guess you pay a premium for the area. Can get the same meal other places for 30% less. Nice place though.

Whoever says the food is crappy, there is bad service, and high prices must be real ignorant. Atmosphere is great, much better then that Inlet cafe and the servers actually have teeth unlike the inlet. I highly suggest this restaurant over Bahrs, Mobys, Clam Hut, or Off the Hook. Unbeatable.

Excellent Service, Great Food. Went there for Fathers Day. My son suffers from Celiac Disease & had to work that day. I was able to order him a GF dinner to take home; given to us as we were ready to leave. Our Servier Allie was wonderful! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Very good food, nice breezes off the bay, but very expensive. Good bands play here a few times a week. The burgers offer a good mix of choices with the brisket, rib and beef burger being my favorite. Mahi and scallops were also very good.

Food is very good, but overpriced. It makes sense though because youre paying for a spectacular view. Just know that youre not going to catch any good deals here if thats what youre looking for.

Great place by the beach. Good food, drink and staff. Good entertainment. Especially when the band Skinny Amigo plays! Great band and worthy of a visit when they are here.
