I went to Bombay Grill expecting quality vegetarian dishes with flavor and spice, and I came home feeling unhappy and with a very sugary taste in my mouth. I have been living in this neighborhood for 20+ years, and had been going to the same Indian restaurant over and over again. Although my local place was great, I was looking for more of a change and I thought Bombay Grill would be the place that I could go to for a great culinary experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We arrived at the restaurant and ordered a Malai Kofta, Saag Paneer and naan. We were first served 3 chutneys and papad. All of the chutneys were sweet, not appealing for my taste. We waited for our food for about 15 minutes, not long at all. We were then served with warm, but not hot, dishes and very, very small portion sizes of food. However, the appearance of the food was good. We started eating the Malai Kofta first. This was probably the least appetizing dish we had at the restaurant because the gravy, like the chutneys, was sweet, even though we ordered for all dishes to be medium spicy. The main problem with the dish was that the koftas were really dry, and tasted like unseasoned and grainy falafel like balls. They had no vegetables in them, as described in the menu, and were not tasty. The Saag Paneer, though sweet like everything else, was good and appetizing. The naans were great, however, in the menu they were said to cost $1.95, but they actually charged us $2.95 per naan. My main two concerns with Bombay Grill were the portion sizes and the sweetness of the food. The North Indian dishes that we ordered were too sweet considering that I ordered for spicy food, and did not taste like traditional Indian dishes. The portion sizes were too small and you would have to order 2 veggie dishes in order to feed one person, and each dish was for the price of a large dish compared to other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood. In spite of all this, the environment was great and clean. Overall, I was not happy with the whole experience.

I came here with a very close friend of mine today, attempting something new and different for the both of us. When we walked in, the place was empty, but we didnt find it weird or discouraging at all. The atmosphere, food, service, AND bathroom (very important) were all equally as amazing and clean. The preparation time was quick and seamless! Moreover, we asked to take our left overs to go, and being the klutzes that we are, we forgot them at the place. Our waiter personally chased us down on a bicycle and hand-delivered our forgotten food. What a kind soul! His devotion truly epitomized the vibe of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place, and can honestly say that my friend and I will be returning.

We ordered Chicken Wing, Chicken Pakoda and Chicken biriyani. Chicken Wing is like the one you will find in KFC fully coated with corn flour and deep fried. Chicken Pakoda is kind of funny. They fried the chicken with besan coating on top of it. But chicken piece tastes okay. In Chicken Biriyani, chicken pieces are nice. But the flavor is kind of schezwan and ghee. They gave complementary papads in the beginning and mango rice pudding in the end. Overall complementary food tastes good than ordered one. If you would like to go then try to taste the onion & tomato salsa on the table with complementary papads. Items are indian and recipe is kind of strange.

First time eating Indian food had a great experience food was delicious! Only cons are the older male waiter seemed a little impatient and no smiles from him. The Chicken curry couldve used more curry to spread in the rice. Complimentary thin crispy roti and rice pudding which was a nice touch. Mango chutney is better than at Taj Mahal. 2nd time we went there we got a different older gentlemen who was over complimentary of my girlfriend to the point where I was confused if I should feel awkward, amused, or humorous. Think well go to Taj Mahal next time.

Very delicious Indian food for a great price. As always, there is variation in flavor in dishes, for instance their masala is a tad too tomato-y yet still very creamy. Amazing naan as well. Where this place really shines, and why Im giving it a full 5 stars is the Tandoori. After the sale and closure of Indian Passage, I spent literally years looking for phenomenal Tandoori and this place is it. The Lamb Boti tandoori is out of this world but the rest are exceptional as well.

This restaurant does not know what Indian food is. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala which was stale paneer with artificial orange color in the gravy. I ordered Chicken Tikka Biryani and it was vegetable rice floating in oil with uncooked chicken. Dal Makhani was stale pulses. Such bad food and the prices are so high. It seems like the owner is from Bangladesh and not India. They do not know what Indian food is. Please save your money and never order from this place.

This was my first visit to BomBay Grill and my expectations were exceeded. The food was absolutely delicious! The environment warm and cozy and the service was superior. The wait staff is very attentive and polite. One of the best dinning experiences Ive had.

Lamb shag was excellent. Service was very attentive. Indian background music was nice. Decor is circa 1960, but reminded me of many places Ive eaten in india. Dinner for 2, including onion Kilcher, was just under $30... a bargain.

Good entrees to go. My girlfriend and I sat a table once, and the experience felt like a trip to the 1950s. BomBay Grill, you have great food! Now you need to make your restaurant more appealing to the younger generation.

Good Indian food for the tail end of Brooklyn, though the Americanization is visible. Service was weird, though - attentive, but waiter constantly wanted to be clearing our plates, even when we werent done.

Best indian food in Bay Ridge! If they put english speaking person on the phone, they get more stars. If you not shure what to order then get Chiken masala with Nan(bread) and enjoy.

The food was good. I had a difficult time communicating with the waiter. Other than that, everything was good. The area is great and interior design was elegant.

Best India Im Bay ridge. The Tandoori was so delicious and tender. The Biryani was also delicious. The Keir was some of the best I have ever had.
