Karahi is a solid Indian restaurant and a great lunch spot. Ive ordered from here 3 times now and its been very good. For $10 you get a meat entre, rice, and naan or $8 for a veggie entrée. I typically get one of each and the food is plenty to split over 3 days, one lunch special is definitely more I could eat in a day and they give you a good amount of meat. Ive had both the tikka masala and the butter chicken and both were very enjoyable. The sauce was creamy with a good flavor and a hint of spiciness. The dal makhani was a little disappointing, while it tasted good it wasnt as creamy as Im accustomed to and enjoy. I switched to the dal yellow and its very good, nice and spicy. Delivery is usually decently quick, it took an hour one time which I didnt even mind and the delivery guy was very apologetic. This is definitely a go to lunch spot for me though they dont seem to delivery cutlery so make sure you have some available.

I was really craving for Indian food tonight and tried to order it over the phone for delivery. The order taker was very rude and he hung up on me when I was about to give the card number. I called back again to give the card number and he told me to order it online, when I said I tried but the Internet was very slow so I couldnt place the order. He said, he doesnt have time to take the card number for such a small order($23) over the phone. He is very busy there. When I told him they will get the bad reviews now, he said "pls give the card number I will take it". I said NO. I am very disappointed!

Good value: paid about $40 including tip for a generous meal for two: lamb saag, chicken biryani, and the eponymous karahi naan, which has ground chicken. All tasty, well spiced, piping hot, plenty of food. Quiet atmosphere, great for conversation. For conversation also: the staff gave us space -- they didnt check in constantly or rush us out the door -- and they were responsive when we glanced their way. Very nice.

Amazing authentic service, great food, great prices. Today on my "me day" I decided to treat myself to dinner at Karahi, I ordered chicken moiley and garlic Naan. Absolutely great! Both the owner and the server are super nice. When I was about to leave they gave me a bottle of water to take with me and I thought that was so thoughtful now that its so humid and hot outside. My favorite place!

Been coming here for years. Food is always perfect & as expected. Afternoons are quiet and easy to get in. Weekend nights...call ahead or drop by ayor, it may be a short wait. Have a good time with your other half. If you feel the food is bland maybe u need to order Highly spiced dishes next time. If you are a smoker that can effect your tastebuds soo....

Came here for the first time back when they were on Broom street. Love the food. Great value. I get the Lamb Rogan Josh and Garlic Naan. Have not been disappointed yet. The service is never that great but the good food and value make up for it.

I ordered a vegetarian dish of spinach and potatoes. It was so spicy the actual food could not be tasted. The potatoes were uncooked. The poori was oily and greasy. Overall the food was poor and I will not order from there again.

Karahi is AWESOME! Dont pass this one up. Everything on the menu is delicious and the restaurant itself is very cool looking and relaxed. Delicious! Ive been dreaming about the food ever since. ;-)

Terrible Navratan Korma (menu lists "fresh" vegetables, but they were clearly frozen, and mostly carrots), accompanied by overly greasy naan, and inedible complimentary desert. Delivery was on time.

Really great Indian food. And Ive tried about a dozen indian restaurants in NYC in the 12 years that Ive lived here (including some pretty high end ones). Good atmosphere also.

Fantastic Indian food. I went with a friend and we devoured EVERYTHING. The chicken tikka masala and Lamb Rogan Josh were delicious. Naan was well seasoned and perfectly baked.

We were the first customers of the evening and we couldnt have been happier with our meals. Mixed Tandoori and a chicken dish. Both came sizzling. Even the wine was great.

Karahi is the closest to home cooked Indian food in NYC. My husband and I have ordered in from here as well as dined in and have always had a wonderful experience.

The food was average price for below average quality. The portions were small. They gave us a hard time for wanting separate bills. Do not r recommend.

Very bland and lacking spice and authenticity. Im not sure the locals here know what good curry is. Try Mirch Masala for a much better experience

Possibly the worst Indian food Ive ever had. How a place like this gets above one star by anyone is mind boggling. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Older Indian restaurant. Standard menu, limited beer and wine selection. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about.
