Our group of eight came here to celebrate a friends birthday. I had the veal Milanese, which tasted like it was bathed in balsamic vinaigrette and served with over-seasoned vegetables. Desserts may as well have been store-bought from Kings and reheated. We were still gracious enough to get all eight of them and share them with the group, and so it was even more infuriating to see how the restaurant handled us after we paid the bill. Also, they charged $7.50 for a large bottle of Pellegrino, which is highway robbery. We had paid our bill, but were having a last bottle of wine as a group. One of the servers was trying to clean up and bus the table. In a not so subtle hint, he attempted to remove a glass of beer from a friends hand while he was still drinking it, until the friend protested and reminded him he wasnt done. They then sent a teenage hostess to try to get us to leave until my friend expressed his displeasure. They also sent a waiter tersely telling our friend that it was time for our party to leave while we were enjoying our wine. The owner should have either spaced out the reservations longer or at least tried to show more civility in asking us to wrap things up, especially after we had ordered appetizers, entrees, and every dessert on the menu and spent over $350 as a group. I would have also liked to see the owner address the group him/herself rather than send a teenager to do it first. I regret tipping these guys 20% as their courteous service ended with the bill. Seriously, its northern NJ and there are more BYOB Italian restaurants than there are people in the state. Dont throw your money away at this restaurant.

We have gone to this place about 8 times, dining outside is nice in good weather, but one day it was SOOO Hot. In addition, even though the food is good, the wait staff remains extremely rude, They never smile, act as if they are doing you a favor and never acknowledge that they know you or even care to know you. Also waiters very pushy and often place their arms right in front of your face. Also not good when you let them know that they had forgotten something. They forgot my brother in laws dish and did not even apologize, but said " we can;t get everything at once". This is no way to treat customers that are paying ALOT for dinner. Inside is nothing great, decor is ok, Food is good though Wish they got a whole new wait staff

Took a girlfriend for her birthday. The edges of the leaves In the salad were brown. I really think the "pine nut " vinegarette dressing was missing the pine nuts. The salmon was great! It wasnt until we ordered coffee...... the entire inside of the creamer pitcher was FILTHY!!!! At first I thought maybe it was cinnamon but I scratched it with my fingernail and it came off BLACK! Ugh!!! If that was the filth I saw, what about the unseen filth! Also, they keep the grated Parmesan cheese outside uncovered - perfect for the flies to breed in! I certainly wont return

We had dinner here to celebrate a birthday and were quite disappointed. Although we had notified them of the birthday, not one person at Cafe Azzuro acknowledged this special occasion. Prices seem to have increased since our last visit with several entrees near $30 each, overpriced for this modest restaurant. Service was average and not as attentive as previous visits, although 4 waiters stood around talking amongst themselves with a nearly empty restaurant. Although we have eaten here several times, will look elsewhere in the future.

The service is efficiently cold. We went on a crowded Saturday night and had to wait 25 minutes past our reserved time. We were given menus, and our wine was opened and poured. Our orders were taken quickly and the food appeared in good time. Would it have been so hard for 1 employee to smile and make us feel they were glad we were eating at their restaurant? I have never had such cold and detached service in my entire life. I feel more welcomed at my in-laws. The food was OK, nothing to go back for, but nothing to complain about.

Great Night. Well my wife of 18 years and I decided to go out for a special night. I made reservations, advised the staff of the special occasion and boy they did not disappoint. Great table, great service and spectacular food. The owner stopped by to say hello and ensure we were recieving the best service and food. I would highly recommend the Pollo Scarpariello and my wife the Rigatoni Azzuro....wow. Great Night, great food with a relaxed and elegant atmosphere.

What a lovely little restaurant. We were taking a leisurely Sunday drive and happened upon it. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. If I lived in the area this would be my favorite spot for lunch or dinner. Unfortunately its an hour drive from my home and work. I highly recommend it to anyone who is nearby - youre lucky. Enjoy!!

incredible service (over the top) and fantastic food - and its a BYOB (with a liquor store very nearby - walking distance). We live close by, so have dined at Azurro at least a dozen times or more. Outdoor dining in the summer is really nice. Have never had a bad dish here.

Great Italian food. Enjoyed the fried calamari, baby greens salad with walnuts, pear and blue cheese and the chicken parmigiana. Everything was prepared perfectly. The service was very good too. The crowd was a bit on the older side. As many places in NJ its BYOB.

The waiters are rude, pompous, and arrogant. The food is mediocre, and when coupled with lack luster service, this place is not worth it. Our waiters were passive aggressive, and wanted no part of listening to us. Dont waste your time.

I enjoyed the best linguini ever, with chicken Parmesan. It may sound crazy but I dream of it still. The atmosphere was conducive to one of the most enjoyable, relaxing evenings out that i have had in a long time.

We went to the cafe azzurro for a quick lunch on a sunny day. The outdoor seating was great, very clean and quiet. The food was definitely above standard and pretty unique and creative.

Food is great, just dont go on a busy weekend night as they often do poorly estimating reservation and wait times. But the food and service make it a great restaurant.

The outdoor seating ambiance is very nice. The food tastes good, but the presentation could be better. The waiters were attentive although not one cracked a smile.
