I wasnt sure I even wanted to post a review here since I knew it would not be a favorable one but isnt that what reviews are for to show not just the good but also the bad experiences people have with places they have been. This is of course not just so others know where to spend their hard earned money but also so that if the management of the establishment cares enough to read the reviews they will do something about the bad marks they receive so that they are able to stay in business and not be forced into early retirement. Im not sure how long ago it was but I am guessing about four years that I was in a Fridays restaurant that I think was in South Jersey and was made aware of the Give Me More Stripes rewards program. Thinking it sounded good especially since if I recall there was a special incentive you could redeem that day for a free appetizer or something. I decided to go ahead and sign up for it and was able on my visit prior to this one and at a restaurant in Delaware, to redeem my stripes for a steak dinner that although the meal was good the rest of my experience there was not. Since that had been my first bad experience at a Fridays I figured it was just that particular location that had as problem. That was until I came here last week and had a similarly unpleasant dining experience. I have actually been to this Fridays before and dont remember it being so bad but I might have been in a better state of mind since that was in the middle of the winter with a foot of snow on the ground and not on one of the hottest days of the year where part of the reason you are coming into an establishment such as this is to escape the heat. Once again since losing my wife 5 years ago I was dining alone so instead of asking me where I would like to sit they tried to sit me at one of those tiny little tables that are so small especially after they leave a bunch of advertisements and stuff that you really do not need that to get more room to feel comfortable you have to move the table away from the wall. Since I was there mid afternoon after the lunch rush and well before dinner I dont know why they wanted to put me there but I asked if I could sit elsewhere which turned out to be a mistake of a different type. As I had said it was a super hot day and they sat me right next to a window that after about 5 minutes was just as hot inside as it was out. I could go on and give you more examples of my dislike but will only give you the one thing that got me to write this review and that was that they did not give me my Give Me More Stripes points that would have moved me into a reward category for another free dinner. As I was driving here that day I almost checked out the Hooligans Restaurant up the road but decided instead to come here. Next time I will either do that or head into the TGIFridays in Princeton which is one of my favorites.

As far as chains go, this is the place I go to most often (Im a "give me stripes" member and get great coupons discounting the food). The food is good and getting better, with an attention to fresher ingredients becoming their signature. Pricewise, though, the cost of a meal has been rising, with their top entree now at about $20--a bit much for a family-style chain if you ask me. Unlike other nearby chains, though, the food isnt a total salt bomb, though not low-sodium by any measure. Drinks are good, and theyre not cheap on the alcohol. Appetizers are good and the food is, indeed, pretty decent--get the mixed fries with your burger which includes a good helping of sweet potato fries. The management is attentive, and the staff is friendly, bright (maybe drawing from nearby Rutgers is helping), attentive to your tables needs and, well, easy on the eyes. My wife and I agreed that their tight, black tights or body suits are more suggestive than what you see at Hooters but, unlike Hooters, not tasteless or traumatizing to young children. Location is both good (accessible from Route 1 and in the middle of a series of busy shopping centers) and bad (attracts a crowd that can seem a bit rough though Ive never seen anyone misbehave in the years Ive been eating there). Of the two Fridays in the area (Ive been to the Old Bridge one), this one is the best.

Avoid this place at all costs. After receiving rediculously slow service and mediocre food there twice, my friends and I banned this restaurant. Recently, I decided to give it one last try. It was worse than ever. The awkward host made us feel uncomfortable as soon as we walked in. The service was extremely slow, as expected. I ordered a "Ruby" martini--which was not even red, and made with bitter yellow grapefruit juice. My friend ordered a drink which was terrible because they put a chunk of grapefruit in it, instead of orange. When the food finally arrived, my friend received the wrong burger. When the correct one came out, the 2 slices of tomato on it were both top slices with stem core in them, speckled with brown spots. My burger was missing 3 of the listed ingredients, which I had to request. The french fries were very pale and barely cooked. The waiter was friendly enough, but would disappear for 20+ minutes at a time. We were there for well over an hour, and didnt even order dessert or coffee. Although I went there with low expectations, the experience fell short of even that. Absolutely terrible. Chilis, Houlihans, On the Border, and Omega Diner are all better choices in the area.

We walked into the restaurant at about 10:30. It wasnt a busy night and there were 8 of us in our party, and when I asked the host to be seated they asked if we would be fine with a 10 minute wait, we of course were because we had a pretty big party. But after over 10 minutes I asked the host again if we could sit soon and they accomidated us instantly at a table that was empty the whole time we were waiting. Being a group of college students Im guessing they assumed that we here for the $10 endless apps, and when we sat down our waitress moved very slowly. Taking our drink orders then not coming back til after 11, and the endless apps deal is over at 11pm. We asked the waitress for the endless apps menu and she told us that it was after 11pm and we couldnt order of that menu. We believe we were deliberately held up by the entire staff at this fridays so that we couldnt get the $10 endless apps deal. The waitress was nice afterwards, but this service is unacceptable, patrons should not be held up for a deal that the restaurant is offering.

ATTENTION MANAGEMENT today I went to your establishment and sat with my husband and daughter as we waited to be servered we notice 3 parties come in after us that sat in our region and got served before us. While we waited awkwardly and made eye contact with various waiters no one bothered to come and take our order! So after wasting 25 minutes we left. I usually go to this establishment and never have any issues but I dont know what went wrong ??? The waiters were not doing anything but talking to each other and taking orders here and there. I dont see how we got missed especially since my daughter was vary excited and moving about! I am disappointed at my experience and annoyed! I have done waitressing in the past and know when someone is behind or vary busy you help out so I am not sure why staff at this location could not be mindful enough on customer service. I hope no one else experiences this but, personally this experience had lead me to never want to dine here again.
