This was touted as the best Southern food ever, particularly renown for the fried chicken. The appetizer was described as a shrimp salad, but it was actually just a plain shrimp cocktail presented very sloppily. The main course was fried chicken. They didnt ask us whether we wanted dark or white meat so they brought out a thigh/leg quarter and the rest of the plate was heaped with anemic, clearly microwaved or boiled to death broccoli. Just plain broccoli. No sauce, nothing. When I tell you that KFC tastes better than this tasted, that would be a gross understatement. Yes, it was a pre-fixe meal but it wasnt cheap and it ranks as possibly one of the worst meals I have ever had.

If I could give a 0 I would. This place is the pure definition of pretentious. No flavor to the food. Came for the raved about southern cuisine, left with such disappointment..i hope this was justva bad day for them because if not people really need to take back the reviews they for great food. Under seasoned would have been welcome to my nonseaoned plate of pan fried chicken, and mushed up bland vegetables. Just because you are on vacation does not mean everything is great.

Southern fried chicken is the specialty for the Chalfonte. My wife and I thought the chicken was ok. We enjoyed the drinks and dining on the patio was devine. We enjoyed watching the horse and carriage tours circle the house as we dined.
