I wish I would have read the reviews before eating at this restaurant!!!! I was so excited to eat here with my family after my friend recommended it months back, I treated mt friends and family and 4 out of 6 of us got violently ill:( STAY AWAY !!!! Im assuming from my experience and other reviews , (in my opionion )its 1of two things or both(a) staff or CHef are NOT WASHING their HANDS, or (b) they Are SERVING SPOILED Food. I WILL NOT RETURN to this RESTAURANT because * Service was horrible,* waitress looked high and uninterested in serving us,*our hostess was more interested in taking her sweet time to seat us and could hardly walk in her heels( why is a woman at a restaurant wearing what seemed to be 6inch heels ?is beyond me)we waited what seemed like an eternity to be seated.and when we tried getting her attention she was busy flirting with some guy who im sure didnt spend what we did on our meal.on his one drink... ** Food tasted salty and was cold .* when we asked to speak to the manager or chef we were told to leave our number and they were too busy to attend to us.. what a joke!!!! GOOD Luck getting patrons to come back to such an unprofessional establishment.Did I mention 4 out of 6 of us were violently ill that night or next day??? STAY AWAY !!! BTW google will not let you post unless you give at least one star . They dont even deserve one:(

Terrible Palm Sunday Dinner. I took my family out for what I thought would an enjoyable meal. I was surprised when we arrived that we were only the second patrons there. We went ahead and ordered anyway, drinks, salads, dinner. The drinks came 10 minutes later, my beer was warm, the salads never came, oven dried bread and butter came 15 minutes later. By now I was losing my appetite. My kids were complaining they were hungry. By the time our meals showed up I was already fed up. My dinner was luke warm, like it had been sitting under a lamp. I sent the whole thing back to be wrapped to take home. The dinner my son ordered came with tomatoes on it (which he can not eat), even though he requested it without them. My kids slammed down what was put in front of them because they were starved. When I asked the waitress to cancel our salad orders (because we never got them) she said "Oh sorry", and seemed completely disinterested. We left as soon as we could without ordering another round or desert. I do not recommend this restaurant.

This is Kevin Stender, the owner of Spring Street Pub. I am deeply disturbed by these reviews and promise that I will personally investigate any and all of these issues. I can assure you that all of our staff follow recommended food safety protocols, including washing hands well with soap, properly maintaining the temperature of our foods, and storing food appropriately to prevent spoilage. The safety and enjoyment of our diners is amongst our top priorities, and we encourage anyone who thinks they might have gotten sick from any dining establishment to report this to their local health department so that the appropriate culprit can be identified and fixed. We take customer issues seriously, especially complaints about our food or service. If you or any member of your dining party is less than 100% pleased, let us know and we will happily make you something else or refund your money.

The Fair rained out last night. So what to do? We had often wanted to dine at the Spring Street Pub & Grill in Newton. The food was amazing. The prices were more than reasonable. Everything was served promptly. The wait service was pleasant and accommodating. The portions were large but not overly so My husband chose hanger steak. I had one of the best burgers ever. The chef came to the table at our request so we could thank him for a memorable meal. Of course it was raining but there is a depressing air that pervades Spring Street. It had nothing to do with the Pub & Grill. Nothing was open and an air of desertion permeates this area. Nothing so far that has been tried has opened Spring Street to a lively and fun place to shop and dine out. Unfortunate. It is our hope that more people eat at the Spring Street Pub & Grill. It is well worth it.

The first time there I went with three of my friends. The food was to say the least horrible. We placed our food order and had to wait 40 minutes for our entres. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was very thin and dry. Tasted like a piece of bad chicken jerkey. Two weeks later a different friend insisted I give it another try. He said "there must have been a different chef on when I last went." Well, my second experience with the food was just as bad. My friend sent his fish entre back to the kitchen and asked for a burger instead. On top of that our table could hear what we were told was the "owner chef" screaming curses at his wait staff. I live nearby and will share my experiences with everyone I know.

Great experience. The server was prompt, friendly and informative. I am a foodie and because I cant afford to go out much when I do Im a little fussy to say the least. I like all kinds of cuisine and was surprised to see that the Chef/Owner took on a German selection. I have had two of the German selections so far and was really Wowd. The calamari is excellent and the Bang Bang shrimp is a nice change, real fun and has an unusual kick to it. It was yummy. I could go on but the point is the price is very affordable, portions are great and the atmosphere is new, upbeat and you can dine in a bar setting with TVs or a fine dining side. Give it a try! Tell em Larry the fussy guy sent you.

STAY AWAY!! My husband wrote a review and it mysteriously disappeared. We took my family and friends out to eat and 4 out of 6 of us got violently ill after eating there that night. Afterwords I called the restaurant to let them know how sick we got from their food and the employee was very rude and did not seem to care about this serious issue. Besides that, service was slow and our waitress seemed to be under the influence. I will never return there and recommend that ANYONE goes there. From all previous reviews it seems that this place is very unsanitary or serving spoiled food in my opinion.

My wife had been bugging me to try this place so we did. Probably one of the worst experiences Ive ever had at a restaurant. We were the only ones eating in there and service was terrible. They had the bartender tending bar and waiting tables. Our Cesar salad contained a piece of eggshell. The shrimp sandwich tasted like the frozen bagged shrimp. The coby sliders were the highlight of the day and pretty good. At the end we waited 20 minutes for the check. I had to get up and ask for the check. Remind you we were the only table. Sadly, I had high hopes. Low hopes couldnt even be met.

WOW. Awesome food! Never fancied myself a fan of German food but I took the leap and ordered the German sampler. It was sooooo good. I would order Jager Scnitzel (sp?) anytime! Drinks are good. ohhhh the bang bang shrimp were...banging! get em! No joke everyone in our party finished everything on their plate! The service was on point and made you feel comfortable. We never needed for anything. They were always right there asking if we needed anything and the food came out quick and hot. Will be back there soon and often! Keep up the great work!
