Review is specifically for the sushi. Reviews for this place are great and I can see why, the service was great and the menu looked very appetizing. I do not recommend the sushi and the reason isnt the fish, its the rice. Ive never not liked sushi rice before because its simple enough almost everyone gets it right. With the proper balance of sugar, salt, rice vinegar etc it should have a nice mild, balanced flavor that compliments the fish. The rice here absolutely overpowers the fish. I could barely tell the difference between the tuna and the white fish or salmon because of how sour and pungent the rice was. Ive loved sushi my whole life and I am by no means finicky with food. It just simply didnt work, it tasted like someone dumped the whole bottle of rice vinegar in the batch. The cooked meals however looked fantastic and if I ever am in the area again I may try one.

It was terrible. Service was very poor had to keep waving to hostess to get water and other things as waitress disappeared and we never saw her again?? Sushi was some of the worst I have tasted and the rolls were loose and fell apart. Spider roll was soggy and loose. Shrimp Tempura was the same. Spicy Tuna was very dry and had no flavor-- Never got our soups. My wife and I were very disappointed with the quality of the food and poor service. I would say their food tone is more Korean then Japanese. The place was very neat and tidy though and bathrooms were very clean.

This is really a very good restaurant in the middle of Lebanon. There are many Korean dishes and some Japanese dishes. The place is relatively small and the decor is OK but nothing fancy. The food is pretty good but the price seems to be a bit on the high side. The seafood pancake is good while its hot. The chicken dish in spicy soup dish I had was OK but not particularly flavorful. The cold bibimbap was OK but curious it was not over rice. Instead, the rice was provided on the side. The service was a bit slow.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch since we craving some good Asian food. We were not disappointed. Their bento lunch box special is an amazing deal! I had plenty left overs for a second lunch the next day. The sliced pork in their house made sauce was so delicious. Just the right amount of heat and flavor. Best part was the starter dishes they bring for free, 2 types of bean sprouts, cucumbers slices in a red sauce, and several other vegetables. My wallet also thanked me as it was a really cheap meal for the area!

This restaurant is one of my and my wifes favorite in the area. The food is always delicious and promptly served, and the sushi specials are incredible. In addition the service is wonderful. Always very courteous and helpful. We were here a while ago and my wife dropped a $20 bill under the table. We didnt notice, but our server Arnaldo held onto it for us at the restaurant until we returned for another meal almost two months later. Great people and great food!

They are an institution, bringing nostalgic memories. And it hasnt changed a bit! superb service everytime... everytime. The female host has been there since I can remember and almost appears to be a spirit, permanently tied to that location, and ebullience. aside from there supernatural ability to remain amazing, the food shows, fried pork dumplings from yama, to me? it should be a patented brand. If sushis more your thing? you will not be disappointed.

Ive been going to Yamas in Lebanon since a local first told me about it. I was new to the area. It is reminiscent of the hidden wonders I grew up with in SF. The food is wonderful. And the people who work there are wonderful! Ive been to the Hanover location a couple of times and my only complaint there is the parking. We go to the Lebanon location unless we need to meet someone in the Hanover area. I cant wait for my next visit! Jean

It certainly stand out as a great value with any of their lunch specials. It is a nice option for a quick takeout or dine in option either for lunch or dinner. The place is small and unassuming but the food seems good at a first take out. I would rate their miso soup a 4/5 but with the Korean on-the-house appetizer, small salad, white rice and a dumpling and two maki pieces to top the main dish the lunch box special is a great deal!

The waitstaff and owners are so warm and welcoming. The sushi is very good, too. Plus, they give you fantastic (and free) appetizers. I only have two gripes: 1) The atmosphere reminds me of my high school cafeteria; and 2) I ordered a meal, and the vegetables were frozen. This was in the middle of the summer, so I know there were plenty of fresh veggies to be had.

Refusing to specialize in a specific cuisine, Yama is sort of a pan-asian restaurant, and for the most part they do a good job with all of them. The sushi is good, the Korean is good, the Japanese is good, etc. The Bibimbap is a particular favorite--make sure to order the egg over easy. The only dish I wouldnt recommend is the pho. Its thin and mostly tripe.

¡Delicioso! Fuimos a almorzar y probamos un par de opciones del menú. Nuestra conclusión es que queremos volver para poder probar otras cosas. La atención fue excelente.

A great place for Korean food! I have not tried anything on their menu that I didnt like. Their lunchboxes are especially great because you can get a variety of foods, and its all super yummy! The staff is great. Its just a great experience! There used to be one in Hanover, but they closed it... so now this is the only Yamas near Hanover.

First time at this restaurant. I tried several dishes and found all of them to be too sweet for my taste. Even the ma po tofu was more sweet than savory/spicy. One thing I did like was the pickles veggies on the side. May give it another try in the future as I did not try anything from their sushi menu.

Food is great, ambiance is the reason for losing a star. I recommend any of the sushi, the yukyejang soup (spicy!!), and their kopdol bibimbap (in the hot stone bowl - dont get it without the stone bowl, thats part of why its so good!) Friends I go with say the kimchi is also very good.

We got waited on right away, and we immediately took our order. 3 mins later they came out with soup and hot tea and wonderful little starter dishes. And maybe 5 mins after that, they came out with our main dishes and it was the greatest sushi weve had! Definitely going here again!

Good sushi? In NH? This place is the best. There is something for everyone. I always get two rolls, the Lebanon and the Winter Hill. They are dipped in tempura batter and flash fried so the outside is hot but the inside is cold. This is West Lebs best kept local secret.
