I want to give this place a better review, and the quality of the food deserves better, but the service (even for takeout) has earned them 3 stars. The food here is reliably good - we eat here about once a month, on average. The inside has absolutely no charm or ambiance - its a strip mall Chinese restaurant with almost cafeteria style seating. I think Ive seen people actually eating in about half a dozen times in the 5+ years Ive been coming here. The biggest issue I have is related to how long orders take. There is no good system in place for them to manage food orders as they come in, so things are scattershot and take longer than necessary. My wife and I ordered take-out last Friday, and it took over an hour and a half to be ready (we were told 45 minutes to an hour). The ladies in the back were calling out one dish at a time for the only chef to cook, and they were calling them out of order - so our takeout order was completely done except for one dish, which they hadnt even given the chef to start cooking yet. I hope they can find a way to improve their organization, because the food is great, and theres no reason for this to be quite so disorganized and slow.

This used to be my favorite Chinese in the Upper Valley. The Chinese here is nothing compared to MA Chinese, but this place was the closest. Now theyre never really open and the quality of the food has gone down hill. I happened to drive by today because they were open! So I ordered the usual for the family. The Crab Rangoon had barely any stuffing, it was all wonton. The GT chicken was mostly all breading with little chicken. Such a disappointment. This was my favorite place! Im assuming theyre trying to make up for food costs and decrease in business time, but this is a great way to drive the regular customer base away. It also seems theyre more interested in advertising their kids restaurant in Hanover called Noodle station. I went to try it one day when they were closed and was also not impressed. High prices and the food was not impressive at all... I really have to leave them a bad review when Ive been going to the place for so long, but the quality has just gone down so much something had to be said. I probably wont be going anymore and will steer my business to Peking Tokyo, their food is good and theyre the only place around that delivers.

I was there on 7/19/14, and ended up ordering beef and broccoli after trying to order the Szechuan Beef, which was too confusing for the person at the counter, as their menu called it Beef Szechuan style or some or close variation with the basic root words being Szechuan Beef. The beef and broccoli was about 2-3 dollars more than what I am used to paying. After the order was placed. the counter person notified me that rice was not included. I have never-in New Hampshire, Mass., Maine, Rhode Island, etc. -ever have a main dinner course at any Chinese place ever charge extra for rice and try to sell you lo mein for even more money. The food was just OK-nothing special. This is like the gas station just off the highway or the gas station in a small village-no competition, so they raise prices and provide less than what is standard in areas where there are more Chinese places competing with each other.

Been going for over 20 years, since opening. The food was amazing best Ive ever had until recently, the owners are wonderful and the location is easy to find though the service was hit or miss at best. However, the last six months or so the open times have been erratic, prices are rather expensive for Chinese food, the food has been less than desirable ( I ended up throwing most of it away it was that bad twice) and I feel I get blamed for being irritated I have to wait over an hour sometimes for a simple call in order. Im not sure what is going on if its just an aging restaurant that is on the decline or its something else. Doubtful I will continue going to this place given recent changes in times, quality and personnel. It pains me fully to only give three stars, but its really at that point and I am not a difficult, needy costumer.

I dont even care if its the slowest service -- We plan ahead for that. Heres why: Its local and its the best tasting Chinese food around; the owners are caring and make great conversation with us when we come; they have taken our order when we called 5 minutes before closing (without complaint); theyre always willing to adjust menu items to suit my preferences; the portions are generous enough that you have leftovers; and, I would hate to see them ever shut down, because theres no place equal to it in taste. Love China Station. <3

Been going to China Station for 20 years. Second time in a month, the phone is either busy or they answer the phone and put you on hold. During christmas I sat outside and watched people stand in a line until 1220 PM when they were supposed to open at 12 PM. There is such a thing has putting on more help. Updated 7.19.17 Phone rang for 20 Minutes no answer.

Pete makes the the best Chinese food in the country hands down. I have traveled far and wide and in every city, I look for a place that is even half as good as China Station and it simply doesnt exist. Ive been out of the area for quite sometime but on the rare occasion I visit, I have to stop in and have a meal. 20 years of #11s and it never gets old.

The food is absolutely amazing, definitely the best Chinese around. The only thing I would suggest is trying to speed up a little. First time we came it was very busy but we got our food within 25 min. This time we have been waiting for 40 and still are :-/

This is the best Chinese takeout in the Upper Valley. Its quality, cheap, tasty food. Dont expect fine dining with its plastic dishware and unadorned tables, but do expect a wide range of Chinese dishes that will keep you coming back.

Food is really good, but it couldnt possibly be any slower. I walked in at 6 before a 7:00 movie and never got any food before having to leave. At a Chinese restaurant. If you go, plan ahead by calling in your order well in advance

I would have given a five star rating, however I got there just before they were supposed to open but they were ten minutes late opening and despite the fact that it wasnt busy I waited a half hour before my food was ready.
