Unfortunately this was the worst food and experience I have had in the area. There is a ton of great food in Hampstead and the surrounding towns. I was told that Osaka was a great place for quick and fresh sushi as well as asian cuisine. I ordered the things that I like at a competitor in Plaistow, and was very disappointed. I ordered chicken fried rice, which was really salty but the chicken had little flavor. I also ordered a bunch of sushi. The spicy Tuna roll was decent but not great. I ordered a Kani roll (spicy crab), that was sweet, like it had ginger in it or something. I also got Unagi Sushi (2 al a carte pieces) that tasted like cheap fish. Unagi (Fresh water eel) when fresh has no fishy taste, it has a really great texture as well. The Unagi I received was tough, slimy and tasted old or spoiled. The last roll I ordered was a shrimp tempura roll, which is a classic. The shrimp was good but again, not great. The thing that really upset me, was not that the food wasnt even close to what I am used to at competitors, but it was the slow and disorganized service. I placed my order over the phone, was placed on "Hold" as the person taking my order complained about being busy to someone else, then realized that she had not actually put me on hold. She either couldnt hear me or wasnt listening as I gave my order multiple times slowly. I was told 20 minutes and arrived 20 minutes after ordering. I spent 35 minutes sitting in the ordering area waiting as very few orders made their way out. Nearly an hour after ordering my food was ready, a gentleman that I had been talking to told me that he had been waiting over an hour for only General Tsos chicken. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I am hoping that this experience is not typical, but who knows? I know I will go to the other places instead from now on.

I think I might be oversimplifying things a bit, but I think that with the exception of a few subtle differences, almost every small Chinese restaurant in the area is exactly the same in the food department. Osaka has the Japanese style Hibachi menu as well, which sets them apart. I think their Chinese food is a bit better than other places in the area. Service is good. Dining room is clean and nice. Recommended over other places like it.
