Jade Garden pursues the fine Chinese-American dining experiences for their customers in Helena area. However, their dishes are questionable depending on your previous experiences. Quantity of food they offer is more than plenty and you can still see many customers come back and enjoy what Jade Garden can offer. However, if you have experienced and enjoyed authentic Chinese or even good Chinese-American dishes, you will be disappointed with Jade Garden dishes. Their interior and exterior décor are very good compare to other local Chinese restaurant in Helena. That should be one of the attraction points why customers dine here. Hostess and waitress are friendly but during busy hours (sort of expected) they need to improve how to provide their quality service to customers. • Service: Slightly below average (a bit slow and less responsive) • Price: over average (compare to dishes they offer) • Atmosphere: Good (interior and exterior décor are done well) • Food Quality: Below average (large quantity but less tasteful) • Parking: Good enough (They offer their own parking lot) • Avoid factor: If you are looking for authentic Chinese food or even good Chinese-American food, you may get disappointed. • Recommendation: Call ahead of time and make a reservation since they tend to get busy during weekends

Weve eaten at Jade Garden many times. After living here for many years, we just had to stop eating there. Slowly, over time, their food quality and level of service has deteriorated to the point that you just cannot get a good meal there. The dishes are rarely clean and the tables are usually sticky. One thing I found is that if you have children of any age, they tend to try to bracket all the families together. My children are 10 and 13, and we always get sat in a room full of parents with babies because they just assume all parents should be grouped together. I personally do not like the segregation and I dont like having to be in a huge group of children when I want to go out to eat. I think there are better places to eat in Helena.

The "Garden Special" "fried" rice was gooey white rice with gooey gravy poured over it. It was definitely not fried rice. The pork pieces and chicken pieces were rubbery and unchewable. Got it to go so didnt know what I was in for till I got home. I drove it all the way back to get my money back. Unfortunately, they had "no mechanism in place to give refunds." Really? They did offer to give me another order of gooey, chewy "fried" rice. Well now, that was thoughtful! :( Be sure youre ready to put your money where your mouth is at this place. You try it, you buy it. Dont like it? Tough fortune cookie, cookie!

We never miss a chance to eat at Jade Garden. Quality Chinese food made with fresh ingredients, each dish made to order and excellent service. The best in Montana! 2014 update - Jade Garden has added allergen friendly options to their repertoire, including training in gluten-free cooking for their staff. 2017 - Jade Garden is CLOSED FOR REPAIRS. As of April 4, they dont appear to be close to reopening. Our family is disappointed that a favorite place is unavailable; we await a Grand Reopening soon.

I went there during the summer, and it was okay. The place has great service, but it is not real Chinese food. From being from San Francisco where we have many Chinese restaurants, this one was okay. The food was delicious and I recommend the teriyaki chicken by the way. It is a great place for someone who has never tried Chinese food, but is not authentic. For example, some people who sat near us ordered chicken nuggets. So some things you can order are things like that there.

This is still the best area chinese available, vegetables are not over cooked and quantities are huge and served family style. They are not always able to tailor the spice levels well, even very spicy is pretty moderate. The hot and spicey soup is mostly white pepper and egg drop. I think they may have a new cook. Anyway, it is still our #1 choice if we are hungry for Chinese. We eat early and havent had seating problems. Best picks: Moo Shu, House Noodles.

We ate dinner at Jade Garden on the evening of Dec. 4th. Our waitress was Janet. She knows her job well and had us laughing at times. The food was fresh, and tasty. It was my husbands birthday and a cheesecake with a candle was brought to him. Service was quick. The cook must be super good to make such tasty dishes. There was 6 in our party. Thanks for great service and great food. Dennis, Darlene, A.

Ordered take out and they forgot over half our meals, we called them and they were so rude, didn’t even offer to give us the food we already paid for (not to mention we got hung up on by the manager). We had to drive all the way back into town and they didn’t do anything to compensate for their mistake. Food was good but they lost our business for ever. Going to Yat Son’s next time we want Chinese…

Im writing this review while the food is still hot! Simply put, the worst curry chicken I have ever had. No flavor, wrong ingredients, terrible sauce. It was so bad I called them to make sure this is what I ordered, and of course they indicate yes, with no care that the food is bad and should have been re-ordered. Stay away if you actually like Chinese or Asian food.

Never again. I feel this place only has decent reviews because Helena doesnt have a large selection of restaurants. The food is very bland and overpriced. Its like minus cookbook type of food- like where the cooks try to follow the recipe but still manage to screw it up. The service is great- very wanna be high end restaurant feel. Once is good enough for me.

This establishment does not capture authentic oriental tastes. It was disappointing. Kung pao chicken was spicy but served with a medley of vegetables that is not comparable to other oriental kitchens. Another person in the group ordered a chicken dish that was just fried chicken chunks. Overall, the food is edible but a poor imitation of the real thing.

We like Jade Garden food a lot. Service is fast and portions are generous. The lunch menu is the best value and is available 11:00-3:00 daily; dinner is more costly and most options dont include soup and egg roll like lunch does. I recommend the walnut shrimp, the hot shredded beef, and the beef skewer appetizer.

Best Chinese in Helena, but chicken is generally too dry for my taste. Portions are generous and food is always piping hot. Unfortunately my favorite Chinese dishes usually involve chicken, and as I mentioned Im not a huge fan of the chicken here. That is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars.

Just plain GROSS! Although the service was good, the place is filthy and the food is disgusting. The linens smell so strongly of fabric softener that it is like having dinner in a laundry. And to top it all they are horribly over priced.

Well go here any time were in the mood for Asian food. The take-out places in town just dont compare. There platters are always piled high with food and the quality is the best in town. Can be a bit busy on weekends and evenings.
