I thought the food was absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately, there are not very many healthy options. They do not serve egg beaters, but they do serve egg whites. My sourdough toast was a little on the well done side. Our server was outstanding. The Blackberry seedless Jam is a real treat for the taste buds. Their chicken fried steak was beautifully done. They have cinnamon roll French toast, too. The lunch specials looked amazing and we asked if they could pack a couple to go, but it was too early and they couldnt pack them until after 11. Breakfast was really good. I will definitely go back here again. The restaurant is fairly small, so be prepared for that. Its pretty crowded and they are very popular.

The Western Cafe should get 2 different reviews from me. When Im hung over this place is 5 stars, and Im the happiest girl in the world with their delicious, greasy breakfast to help me turn back into a human being. When Im not hung over this place is a 3 star. The food is decent, the coffee is good, and it all comes at a GREAT price, but the service is usually... a little brusque. In the sober light of day, this is just an ordinary diner with little to write home about. But if youre ever hung over, you better believe this place is going to be your favorite restaurant in town.

From the outside it doesnt look like much, specifically when compared to the other breakfast places in town. However, the food and service will make you feel right at home, I got their "Best in the West" special and I have to say that their sausage gravy really takes the cake, I ate it with everything on that plate and I really wanted to takes some home for use at a later time! Lastly, Western Cafe is among the most affordable breakfast places in town, try it out!

Was on a road trip with two other friends riding our motorcycles from South Dakota back to Washington and needed to stop for food and heat. This place was a great stop for both. Great food, fast service, and very sociable staff. The owner even followed us out to our motorcycles to thank us for stopping by and give us well wishes for the duration of our trip. We will definitely stop by on future trips.

My wife and I are from Pennsylvania. We were looking for a small local business (we support the little guy) and as we drove past this wonderful place, I just knew I had to stop. Within minutes of being seated, we were eating a huge, hot breakfast. The place filled up with people, as well it should. My only wish would have been, we had discovered this place on our first day here and not our last.

Loved this place! I read that this restaurant has been in Bozeman forever. The rustic atmosphere inside was very comfortable, and our server (who turned out to also be an Arkansas native) had one of the brightest, most outgoing, personalities around! The chicken fried steak was delicious, and I recommend their homemade desserts too.

We arrived about 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning to find the restaurant delightfully crowded and filled with all kinds of early morning people. The service was friendly and the food great. I had the Harvest Scramble with ham and hash browns and coffee. Will definitely stop there again.

The Western offers an eating experience. ;). The food is amazing! Once you have busts and gravy here, you cant ever have them anywhere else because itll never measure up. The wait can be long - but its worth it. Everything is homemade. Just like Moms. Dont miss it!

The BEST breakfast in town! The biscuits and gravy are amazing! Love the atmosphere & hometown spirit. While enjoying your breakfast you can learn about the area and history of Bozeman & Montana. Definitely my number one recommendation for breakfast!

The last best restaurant in Bozangeles. Susan has done a fabulous job of making the Western even better while preserving its classic Montana cafe qualities. Best homemade pies in town and a cinnamon roll that is breakfast for two or desert for four!

Even on a busy Sunday morning, we were seated right away. We were outside, but never forgotten by staff. Food was delicious and portions were generous. Their menu reads "the last best" diner, and it was a true description. Highly recommended!

Not very welcoming, waited 45 minutes to get a table as others were seated before us. We had a group of 6, felt impossible to get a seat as groups of four and two were seated within 10 minutes. Not very friendly staff. Food is good.

One of the worst breakfasts Ive had in Bozeman. My friend was visiting from kalispell and we both agreed. Eggs and biscuits were cold and hard. Did I get a bad day?? So many other great breakfasts in town, Im hesitant to go back.

Incredibly fast, humble, and delicious. Dont expect micro-greens or homemade jams, youre getting plastic squirt bottles of ketchup and eggs cooked perfectly. The Western knows what it does, and does it so. well.

Good service, small dining area. Ordered the scramble and the potatoes and eggs were burnt on one side. They did swap the meal for an omlette for me just now. The omelette came quick and was just fine.

The coffee is pretty good and the breakfast is great! I love a good greasy spoon. If youre trying to take family from elsewhere to a place that captures the Montanan rustic charm, this is the spot.

Awesome food, bobcat special is my favorite. There is one waitress that acts and looks like she belongs in a bar. Impersonal and snappy attitude offset the welcoming local vibes of the restaurant.

We eat at the Western Cafe occasionally. The steak burger and fried eggs are my favorite, my husbands favorite is good ol bacon and eggs. Love the atmosphere, very old fashioned country style.

Great food, my kind of atmosphere. I love the cinnamon rolls, the cinnamon roll french toast, and the chicken fried steak. Perfect joint to go by yourself, read the paper, and break your fast.

If you visit Bozeman and want to taste the culture for breakfast, this place is a must. The look, the feel, the hospitality, and great food...I highly recommend the breakfast biscuit sandwich.

It has a Bozeman feel with a loyal staff! They have nothing but loyal customers b/c they have something that the Cattlemens Cafe will never have.... Scruples & excellent customer service!!!

Good food, large serving sizes, good atmosphere. Dont expect fancy creations with names no one can pronounce, the Western serves simple (but great!) breakfast (e.g. chicken fried steak etc).

A crowded, lively old west cafe with great food! If you want to see what Bozeman used to be all about, skip all those trendy, high priced joints downtown, and come enjoy the Western!

This place is an establishment, its been around forever and for good reason. Its always busy but well worth the wait, I always go for either the burger or the chicken fried steak.

The western cafe has gone down hill over the last few years. Service is sub par, super slow on a non busy morning. The great food that I remembered, now lacks flavor & quality.

Great service fast and completely accurate order. Best cornbeef hash that Ive eaten since highschool days at a local favorite cafe. Cant wait to go back to try other menu items.
