The last 4 carry outs here have been awful. We call, place an order, they tell us itll be ready in 10 minutes. We give them 15 minutes, we arrive to pick up our carry out and we end up waiting for 20 to 30 minutes for our food. This happened again tonight. I placed an order at 6:05pm. My wife got there at 6:30pm. Wife texted me at 7:00PM saying she still hadnt got the food. I called, and long story short, they no longer cook the food until the person arrives. Theyve had too many people call and not pick up food. Fine, then dont tell us over the phone that itll be ready in 10 minutes, give you 15 to prepare it, get there, and then wait for another 20 to 30 minutes for you to actually prepare our food. Also, pay for carry out over the phone if youre having such an issue with customers calling and not picking up their orders. Thatll fix your problem right there.

Do NOT order food for carry out! I ordered a taco salad to go. I asked for extra lettuce and sour cream. I figured I would pay at least 50 cents for extra, but they charge 1.25 for extra LETTUCE, and the same for Sour cream which is not terrible. But we had an order for three, had to ask for chips and they gave us a tiny tiny container of Salsa for 3 people and that was all I had to put on the blandest taco salad I have ever ate. To top it out they also charge for the carry out container. I guess if I did not want to pay for it, I could have somehow carried it out by my hands. Will not ever be going back when we have so many other wonderful Mexican spots in the area.

Food good, staff nice, price reasonable, wait LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG. Our fault for showing up at 6:30pm with tired, hungry kids. But waiting an hour for our food, watching another family enter, order, eat and leave, and then finally having to leave ourselves without even getting our food... Two stars is being generous. But if you have a lot of time to kill, and dont mind being told "another 10 minutes" 3 times in a row, you will enjoy the food. Just know what youre getting into. And dont show up at 6:30 with tired, hungry kids.

Wonderful staff. The restaurant was busy but everyone was fast and friendly. Great food. I got the enchiladas supremas, all were filled with adequate amounts of chicken, meat, cheese, etc. Boyfriend got the beef and chicken quesadilla combo. The quesadillas were so full, he ended up eating them like tacos! Great value, great quality of food and service.

One star for the last 4 times we have called an order in. Get there and wait 40 mins to an hr later to get the food. When I call an order in at 5:15 and get there 20 mins later and then sit for 40 mins is a complete waste of peoples time. Dont have a carry out option if you cant take care of people. Thanks. Not recommended

Wife and I come here once a month. Our favorites are the chimis and San Jose platter. Beer is served with an iced mug and lime. Food is affordable and consistent. Close to true authentic but who would want to eat a taco with only meat and hot sauce in it? Darn good queso. What more could you ask for.

The staff here is excellent. They always go out of their way to ensure we have a nice evening. El Maguey on Mid Rivers is out favorite place to go for Mexican food. Favorite dish, El Toriado or Pork Carnitas.
