Picked up some food to take home after an all day meeting in Springfield. My co-worker raved about how delicious this food was so I took the bait and ordered cashew chicken, crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice and pork lo mein. I am from SoCal and was fortunate to have eaten some of the best versions of all kinds of Asian food in the country. I try very hard NOT to compare the food here in Mid-Missouri with the food back home. However, this food blew my mind and made me very sad. It wasnt bad, it wasnt good, it was just the blandest, plain, unexciting versions of the above dishes Ive ever eaten. The Chinese cooks in the kitchen have definitely dumbed down the flavor of the food to the fit the tastes of the folks who live in Springfield. I swear when I open the pork lo mein, I smelled Campbell soup...again, not bad, but just like a cafeteria meal. The shrimp fried rice had large, tender shrimp but the rice itself was an insult to the phrase "fried rice." The sesame chicken was the best of the lot but again, with nice chunks of chicken but skimpy on the sauce. An order of 6 pieces of krab rangoon was big, crunchy and well priced. But the filling was 100% plain cream cheese, not a shred of krab in any of it. The restaurant itself was very clean and the bathroom was spotless which is unusual in a Chinese restaurant. The young girls working the drive through and the register were friendly, efficient and on the ball. All in all, a decent meal if you want Chinese food that tastes like youre eating in a Campbells Soup cafeteria.

I visited Pacific Kitchen as part of my ongoing quest for my favorite" inexpensive Chinese food in Springfield. I was not disappointed whatsoever. The building seems to be a remodeled Captain Ds location but combined with the name and light fixtures it actually kind of evokes a beachy mood. The entry and order counter is simply functional, but the dining room was clean and had a decent ambiance. Service was good on my visit. For the price, this food definitely beat all of its competitors Ive tried. It was delicious food and you could tell it was made fresh, so I certainly didnt mind a few minutes longer wait than expected. I had the orange chicken and it had a good mix of vegetables and perfect rice. Also, the sauce was excellent. The crowning glory of the meal, however, was the crab rangoon! PERFECT in my opinion. Best Ive had in awhile; very oniony and savory filling with a light, crisp texture on the outside. My husband ordered a side of chicken wings, which made me laugh but he said they were good. I will most definitely return!

BEWARE I eat at this place a lot MEANING 3 TO TIMES A WEEK.I went there last night 11/5/14 at 845PM in the drive through ordered paid for my food. While I was waiting inside on the front counter crawled roaches, I knocked on the window and asked her if thats what I think it is, she knocked it off and stepped on it and did not pick it up. I told her I wanted my money back the went and got the owner he came looked at it also didnt pick it up and went back to the back and continued cooking and didnt say a word the girl didnt say anything at all gave me my money and shut the window. One roach carries over 7 diseases, if there is one there is more there is no telling how, many more come out at night and, crawl over every thing and while they are open this makes me,sick to think what I have ate and what has been crawling on my containers and utensils let alone food. And on top of that how the owner conducts himself if he washes his hands or not. Beware

My wife drove 20 min to get the meal for 2 cashew chicken because it is very good but when she got home it turns out they mistakenly gave us orange chicken which I am allergic to carrots. I called them and the girl spoke with the owner in the kitchen and asked us if we could bring it back but we stated we didnt want to drive all the way back so they just wrote our name down for another day. NOT, they ended up not writing our name down so when we drove another 20 min to their establishment to get the free meals and to purchase other meals they said they cant do anything because it wasnt written down. The owner wasnt able to man up and even get the the phone because he was cooking. HORRIBLE BUSINESS AND OBVIOUSLY AN IDIOT RUNS THE BUSINESS. Having a good product is only a portion.of running a successful business. Cant ruin customers orders and not do anything about it!!!

Went there because I heard good things from coworkers. Noodles were mushy (overcooked), service was slow and the little girls that were running it were arguing in front of customers. One of them was ignoring customers on her phone and had cigarettes near where the food is brought out. I smoke too, but you dont put cigarettes anywhere near where food is prepared or served. The girl was very snippy and I felt rushed to place my order. I will not be coming back again or recommending it to anyone. From what other people have said, either the owner doesnt care about the bad rep or he doesnt know about it. Either way, its a gross place. I dont care how cheap it is. When I buy food I expect it to be made and served in a clean environment and I did not get that. Mcdonalds has a cleaner restaurant. Food was subpar otherwise.

I would really like to give this place a better review but since I havent been able to get ahold of them in over 3 weeks to place a order for my office (10-15 orders) I probably will never go back. It is honestly a shame because their food is really really good, it is usually very hot and right when I get it back to the office. All of my co-workers have been craving it but since we have a limited time for lunch we have to call ahead of time. The wait staff is usually friendly but the last couple of times they havent been. I think it is very important to have friendly service along with the ability to answer the phone. Please hire people that are willing to bring this kind of service to increase your business or im afraid your business will fail.

Pacific Kitchen provides slightly better quality than the average Springfield Chinese eatery, but not enough so to make me rave about their food. The price to portion ratio is positive, but you can find its equal elsewhere in town. You should be able to walk away, feeling full, for under $10. The atmosphere is bland to the point where I actually dont like eating inside the restaurant. Still, when given a choice, Pacific Kitchen is one of the first Chinese restaurants I consider. Theres nothing they do that is remarkable, but they consistently provide good, cheap, food at a reasonable price and thats what makes them worth visiting.

Best Chinese restaurant in Springfield for the price. I grew up eating at Hong Kong Inn, but hands down Pacific Kitchen took their place for me. They have the best Chinese style chicken wings in town and they sell out of them on a daily basis to prove it! Also another secret here is to get the sesame chicken extra spicy for amazing flavor with a good amount of spice. They can have a long wait in the drive-through, but its worth the wait for fresh food.
