At first I was blown away at how expensive I thought a slice was, and then I saw the damn thing. A slice in Kansas City means something completely different than where Im from because I could have gone hang gliding from this thing. You are getting a steal of a deal with their "slices." This place his all the right notes. Killer food, a non stuffy and legitimately relaxed atmosphere, genuinely nice employees, and a building that lets me know they focus on the food and hospitality and not hitting the corporate hipster high score for decor. The best part however is their menu. Unlike another popular pizza restaurant we attempted to visit in that area, Pizza 51s menu didnt require a faux translator. They keep it satisfyingly simple. Pizza. How big? Breadsticks. How many? Products, price and Times New Roman font on a 5x6 flyer. Im not here to frame your menu, I want the best pizza in the city without a fuss and I think Pizza 51 knows that. Go here or regret your choices in life forever.

This used to be my go to spot for gigantic slices of Pizza, but havent been able to enjoy them in awhile until I learned they started serving Gluten Free Pizzas recently, so basically you get a 7" pizza starting at $4.51 for cheese and $.75 for additional toppings. The crust is very similar to Minskys but not quite as flavorful, it was nice and chewy with a little crisp to the bottom of the crust, I would suggest taking it home and baking it for a few more minutes. Overall a great value, at almost half the price of other gf pizzas in the area. I shall return soon!

Really love this place. Huge pies, and quality pizza. Maybe a bit expensive for a student budget, but I think it is reasonable for the quality, and compares to most other pizza places in terms of size/toppings for the price. Lots of UMKC students, but also a great place to take the kid and have a few beers in the summer. They have a large patio where kids can (and do) run around, so you can let the kid loose while you enjoy a pitcher, and what kid doesnt love pizza?

It is amazing place, the pizza is delicious and filling. Love the price and personal slice. The patio sitting is the best thing when the weather is nice, we also enjoy the fact that we can bring the dogs with us when we eat. This is one of favorite pizza places to go to when we are going to walk the plaza. Also the staff is friendly and personable. I highly recommend this place for another with or without pets and enjoy pizza and beer.

Really good pizza by the slice. Cool atmosphere. I love the area and the food. We couldnt get into Minskys Pizza, so we came here. My wife and I were blown away by the variety and quality of the pizza. We were going to wait to eat it until we got home, but kept munching away at it until it was gone. Yum!!

Hi stopped in for lunch today and had a calzone. You could tell the ingredients were fresh which is always a plus with pizza. Cool restaurant...almost like an old school garage remodeled. The chick up front taking orders was really nice and helpful when ordering. Id recommend to anyone.

We are too lazy to make the drive to DBronx but if you want good NY Pizza, this is the best in the Waldo/ Brookside/ Plaza area. Generous slices, fresh vegetables, and plenty of variety. One of the best vegetarian pizzas in the KC area.

For the gluten-free people around the area they do a good job at keeping down the cross-contamination. They have two GF alcholic drink options, too. Not too bad, but be aware they charge per each individual topping.

The servings are very generous and the cheese is great, however they go a bit too heavy on spices for my taste. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful and they have a small but respectable selection of beer.

They have the best veggie pizza in town, and the outdoor seating is ample. We love to go there for pizza and beer on a warm summer day! We have also ordered to go and to be delivered--both were very good.

Ive gone to Pizza 51 a number of times for carry out and they always take 20 minutes to make a simple sandwich. They either screw up the name or the order. NEVER GOING BACK!
