Over the years, a lot of genuine "pizza" places have added a boatload of other food items to their menus. My unofficial poll results from managers of these restaurants has given me a general sense of why: Need to keep customers happy with changing times. Understandable, right? Pizza Luce offers options for those Vegan and Gluten-Free peeps, while still maintaining their delicious Italian menu. They have salads, sandwiches and pasta, all true Italian style. Check it out: Bruschetta, Focaccia Katerina, Lasagna Abruzzi, Mostaccioli... and thats not even the pizza! The pizza is (self) proclaimed the Best in Minnesota. Seriously, these folks know their way around a pizza crust. And pizza sauce. And every topping you can throw on top. "Without a solid foundation, youll have trouble creating anything of value." -- Erika Oppenheimer, ACT and SAT test prep coach Ms. Oppenheimer could have been talking about the pizza crust at Pizza Luce. The crust is a perfect vessel for delivering delicious pizza, without being too doughy, too thick, too thin or really, "too" anything. Youre welcome to create your own pizza, but the specialty pizzas on Pizza Luces menu are original and outside-the-box creations. If youre a big time carnivore, try The Bear. Loaded full of Italian sausage, pepperoni, marinated chicken, ground beef and Canadian bacon, The Bear is not recommended for vegetarians. For pizza you never knew you needed (wait until you taste it), try the Baked Potato Pizza. This pizza crust is smothered in buttery, garlic baby red mashed potatoes, topped with broccoli, fresh diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese and chopped bacon and served with a side of sour cream. Also available gluten-free on request. The BPP will fill you up pretty fast, so get excited about your to-go box which may feed you all week long. Pizza Luces Richfield location is great for couples or large family gatherings. Last time we visited, we had a group of 14 people for a birthday celebration. Great atmosphere, the staff was initially helpful with our group. The server (only one) assigned to our group left huge periods of time where she left and never returned to ask if anyone needed anything. Since most people in our group had refillable drinks (water or soda), attentiveness was desired in waitstaff. Especially in a large group and especially when multiple people notice. For the foods sake, we will be back. Service is something that can be hit or miss, Im hoping this was an off day.

Hello, I am not one to complain, so i want to apologize right off the bat. I did talk to Alex, who is a very nice gentleman. I have also considered posting this on Yelp but still considering. Yesterday was my brother in laws birthday and i was talking at work where to go. A few coworkers HIGHLY recommended Pizza Luce. I took their advice and I went. I brought myself, my wife, 3 children ( 10, 2 and 5) which you can imagine a zoo in itself. I also brought my brother in law for his birthday and his pregnant wife ( my sister) I called ahead and asked what the wait was. ( about 20 -25 minutes sir) is what i got on the phone. When i arrived i expected that. So we drove from burnsville ( about 20 min) and unloaded the van into Pizza luce. We were givin a buzzer and waited we arrived at 5:40. I made sure that the children stayed to the side and out of anyones way. After 30 min they were growing impatient and grabbed them some crayons and sheets to color.. That tied them over for another 30 min.. So waiting an hour .. I asked at this point twice when we would be seated..A" THERE IS NOTHING THAT I CAN DO...WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? I CANT MAKE PEOPLE LEAVE" is the response i got from the hostess with the red hair..... After ANOTHER 30 min wait i asked to speak to the manager and seen Alex talked to him, He was very helpful and nice and said he would take care of my table and get us seen us right away. Keep in mind i have been waiting with 3 children and a pregnant sister ( who should have been offered a chair to sit on or at least a glass of water) and HOUR AND A HALF,, and even longer when we eventually order. we were buzzing and ready to sit and eat, only to get to the front and the rude girl with red hair and her friend with black hair say they only had a high top.. How do i do that with a 2 year old? I asked... she said "well i can give you your buzzer back and you can keep waiting i guess".. Well that was IT, FINAL STRAW... We left and went to OCB, Now i dont know if customer service is something that Pizza Luce is the place for that but we as a family did not receive anything close to that EXCEPT for Alex. UPDATE: There is a General Manager there named Mike, who responded almost immediately so i know that customer service is important to them, maybe just need to have a talk with a select few.

Rude and disrespectful staff, average at best pizza. Take your money up the road to the next pizza joint or another location of Pizza Luce if youre in love with their adequate, not great pizza. Better yet, take your money to Punch! To get in more detail, my family has been to all the Pizza Luce locations but this was our first time at the 66th street location. Each location has consistent pizza and has up till now had adequate to above average service. That is until tonight. If you dont want to read the entire review just suffice it to say all you need to do is request not to sit in "Jens" section if youre hankering for some pizza and are in the area. Shes out of her depth and the rudest server I have ever experienced dining in the Twin Cities. It will keep me from dining at this location again even though the food was consistent with other PL locations. I have no idea what my family did to piss this server off minus simply sit in her section but she was rude and inattentive from the jump. It took 20 minutes for her to even come to take drink orders for the initial people in our group and that is not exaggeration. Subsequent drinks came after significant delays along with her consistently leaving before getting all drink orders. We had to ask three times to finally get limes in our mixed drinks - basic requests here for simple Jameson diets. Every interaction was awkward and she was clearly out of her depth as a server. When the bill finally came she dropped it and came back within a minute of handing it over, record speed for this chick. We jokingly asked if she was rushing us out and she left in a huff and didnt return for literally 20 minutes. We finally had to wave her over to show her we obviously wanted the check taken where she proceeded to lecture us on our innocent comment and rudely asked if we were sure we were finally ready to pay. We apparently "didnt need to be rude" to this delicate flower. Get thicker skin lady. The manager we spoke with after her outburst acknowledged seeing the incident (but didnt come over??) and assured us he would take care of it. Sure buddy, but you already lost my business and I will go out of my way to steer people to other pizza joints now.
