I have ordered for many years from this restaurant and there was a time I enjoyed this food, but they are not consistent they are continually changing the food prep for cheaper alternatives and smaller takeout boxes and raising prices. This last incident was the straw that broke the camels back. I tipp very well because I know it is hard to find my place and now I was charged an additional "Johnston delivery fee" WHEN I DO NOT LIVE IN JOHNSTON... I LIVE IN DES MOINES. I CALLED THE RESTRUANT to let her know I should have not been charged and she ssaid she would only charge half the price for delivery but then hung up on me! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.... PLEASE TREAT YOUR GOOD CUSTOMERS WELL BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MAIN PEOPLE WHO RECOMMEND AND KEEP PROFITS GOING! wITH THAT BEING SAID.... I WOULD RECCOMMEND TSING TSAO IN URBANDALE BECAUSE THEY REMAIN CONSISTANT AT LOW PRICES AND GOOD FOOD! However, they do not deliver... hopefully that will change one day.

Horrible junk restaurant in waukee neighbourhood. Waste of time & money. Never take chance. I would rate in negative if there is a provision. We paid for all the food we ordered we did not even touch the food we had to pay and leave the restaurant. Horrible experience The waiter does not understand the order my wife ordered for mushroom egg foo young as she does not eat meat and seafood. To our surprise the waiter brought shrimp egg young and insisted that we only ordered shrimp. The waiter showed attitude and he was forcing my wife to eat shrimp egg foo young. The waiter near the counter and cook did not pay attention as they were only interested in collecting the money. No one took responsibility and they did not even apologize for what they did. We paid for the food that we never ate and came home. Horrible Friday dinner for us! I would never go to this restaurant again and will not recommend to anyone!

I have had Chinese food in just about every establishment from Des Moines to Waukee and HANDS DOWN Phoenix is the best I have had. The food is always good and the price is good for the portions you get. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. Raja must have caught someone having a bad night because I have NEVER had a problem with my order or the staff there. The deliveries have always been fast and my food is always hot. I would recommend this place to anyone and one of the best parts is they deliver and when I say deliver I mean pretty much anywhere. If you have had a negative experience here I would suggest you give it another shot, you wont regret it.

Forgot a bunch a of stuff that should have been in the bag but not even that I found hair in my food I called and I was polite I told the guy on the phone they forgot stuff and I found hair in my food they guy didnt say anything didnt apologize he handed the phone to a lady didnt explain to her what was going on so I had to repeat everything got no apology nothing all she said was "well what do you want me to do" I asked for some kind of discount or something and she said shed give me $4 off my next meal!!! Like I want to order from them again!! Please , I was very disappointed with there costumer service and food NEVER AGAIN!! 23 dollars wasted

Consistently get the order wrong. Feed up with this place. I had quite a bit of bad luck with them forgetting my order all together or missing items that I stopped ordering from them. Thought I would give it a try today and low and behold I did not receive my soda. I called to tell them and was told the driver was called and it would be brought. I waited an hour, called again and then told if did not make sense to send a driver back out just for a soda so I was refunded the dollar. Does not seem to matter that I had really wanted it or that it was there mistake in the first part. I will never order from here again!

Late night delivery. Ordered Orange Chicken, Veggies, Fried Rice, and Appetizer Plate. Everything was really soggy and bland. I asked for extra spicy, but there was virtually no spice. I wouldnt say it was inedible, but it wasnt good. This was my first time trying this restaurant. If I had to guess, I would say that the food was taken from a buffet (if they have one) and not cooked to order. I wanted to try something different that Cool Basil, but I will stick with CB in the future.

Ordered a appetizer sampler for 2 and variety with pancakes. Food was very bland, appetizers didnt come with much and the egg rolls would have been better microwaved from the grocery store. :( The pancakes were old tortilla shells and were crumbly. The chicken, beef and shrimp were overcooked to the point where I didnt even eat it. Out of the 20$ of food I ordered I ate the soup and the friend shrimp and chicken wings from the sampler. Sad to say I wont order from them again.

Their portions were small and the food was of low quality...you know...where there is more breading than meat. Its kind of gross when you bite into a piece of "seasame chicken" or "generals chicken" and the soft gooey breading is 1/2" thick on all sides and there is a piece of chicken the size of a marble inside. What did I pay for? Fried breading? Also, we ordered delivery as we just moved into a new house and they did not provide us silverware.

Ordered the dinner for 2...choice of any entree. Hunan chicken was very tasty and not too spicy. The Mongolian Beef was tender and very flavorful. Ample portions. Hot and sour soup had a nice tang and good heat...(ordered extra to take home to have with leftovers)...crab rangoon were filled full. The fried rice was the real thing and not just colored with soy. We will definitely be back many times. Friendly owners and great service.

Tried them for the first time today, as they are local to work and deliver. Took around 1 hour to arrive, and what seems to be a theme from the reviews, they missed items on the order (missing fried rice & lo mein), and the black pepper chicken had so much pepper on it, that it burnt at the back of my throat. Far too much pepper, could have put half as much in, and it still would have been too much.

The chefs serve up delicious meals. Order lunch from here and youll get more than your moneys worth; Soup, egg roll, crab rangoon, rice choice, and entree. Phoenix is legit, never a food coma and always fresh. This place also delivers waaaay out of their way; a hater below said he got food in Johnston..... Phoenix is in WAUKEE!!!!! The family that owns this joint are good people to top it off.

This is our go-to place for quick take out or dine in Asian food on the west side of town. They have a delivery menu all that we havent utilized it yet. The food is very tasty although not fancy and they have a fairly nice menu selection. The dining experience is very simple and rarely crowded. If youre craving a good quick Asian meal I would suggest you try out Phoenix.
