We went for lunch and the service was incredibly slow. Our server took a long time to come take our drink order. Then another long time to take our food order. When we did order our food it took a long time to arrive. The restaurant was not busy. When our food arrived we were not given silverware. The server who brought the food (who was different then our original server, not unusual but just worth noting) then went to get us silverware. She took so long that another sever who was passing by noticed us sitting staring at our food that she took silverware from an empty table for us. When we did start eating the food it was underwhelming. It wasnt bad but it wasnt good either. The salad I had was pretty basic and the club sandwich did not have a ton of flavor. Then it was time to pay. Our server brought the check in a reasonable amount of time but then he left us to wait. We waited so long that we took our checks up to the pastry counter to pay. Our server then noticed us and came to help us. He said he had been helping another customer. Overall it was a bad experience and we wont be back.

Ive been to Baked KC twice in my life and both experiences were more than great. Im going to talk about my second experience as I was floorwd by the service we got. My gf and I sat down after a short wait for brunch. We got coffees and enjoyed converaation. 5 minutes later we placed our order and continured our conversation. Our waitress was Adriana who was super nice and very helpful - she was definitely trying her best to make it a great experience for us and knocked it out of the park. After 15 minutes Mike the manager came to our table and apologized for our food taking too long to come out (we didnt even notice) and without hesitation he paid for the food and apologized again. We thanked him and said it wasnt an issue but he insisted. We loved the food, the service the customer experience and above all, the staff. What a great place this is - if youre reading this, give Mike a raise, he makes coming here great!

Had high hopes for this place. First time there was great. This time not so much. We waited for 2 hrs for our food and when it came out, our orders were incomplete, cold, and there was a hair in the potatoes. We watched people who arrived and order After us get their food first and special treatment of free food and drinks. We were rarely checked on by the wait staff. We did bring the hair to the attention of the waitress, and the manager came by and claimed that it was a "fiber" from a bag. This so called "fiber" was curly and had a follicle base. This is the third time weve been here and the second time wasnt pleasant. Unfortunately we have to write this place off and wont be returning.

Awful service on a Saturday afternoon. Long waits for everything. No silverware when food arrived. Waited a good 5 minutes for that as well while our food got cold. Waiter very inattentive with everything. Waited 10 minutes for him to run our card for the check. 3 other employees walked by our table, looked us in the eye and saw the cards waiting to be run, and did nothing. Our waiter when he saw me going to have someone else run my card said "Ill be back to run that, Im helping a customer outside now." Food was mediocre at best. Overpriced. Ill never be back.

This used to be one of my favorite place to go get a pasty and chai latte. The chai is the only thing that Im still excited about here. The very best dish on their menu used to be their french toast that came in a skillet covered in a custard sauce and raspberries. Its was amazing. We just went this morning though and when they brought out my french toast, it was 2 dry, burned pieces of french toast laying side by side on a plate with a few blueberries thrown on top. So disappointing. What kind of menu update is that?

We also ordered a few goodies for dessert from the bakery that were excellent! Then we ordered a box full of bakery items to bring home, ha! The girl that rang up our bakery purchase was very nice & even have my mother a rose! So, Im am expecting to come back to Baked in KC for a 5 star meal very soon. Unfortunately, I expect the service will be hit & miss. Still, I would highly recommend coming for the bakery or the brunch! Their dinner menu & nightly specials look good too! You should definitely give them a try!

Im currently eating here. I thought we could give it a try. I ignored the pleas of horribly slow service. This was a mistake. My coffee took 10 minutes to arive. Ive had enough coffee (and worked with coffee enough) to know that I was givin decaff. They do not make there own muffins or cinnamon rolls. This was also a disappointment. My cinnamon roll tasted like vodka, and was cold. My fiancé said the same. I wont be returning and urge you to do the same unless youre hung over. Then you may enjoy it.

The menu choices are a BIT different at first read, but pretty standard fare, but once you receive the food youll find theyve put a rather unique twist on everything. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, as was the french toast. I also recommend the Das Boot blood Mary. Very good. We did get pushed out the door after our meal was over, but we had been there a while, it is a smallish place and it was Valentines Day so none of us were offended. Still a bit off putting.

Good food and pastries. The service was bad in the sense of the operation flow. The people are nice, but no one seems to know what is going on. The people at the front bakery are quick, but the table service took 15 min to get water and 45 to get food for 2 people. Im not sure if its the kitchen, the way orders are placed, or what. I love this place, but they need to improve the restaurant side of the operation or it may not last. Crossing my fingers they get better!

Service here is always below average for weekend breakfast: brunch. At the most recent visit, the wait staff had a meltdown resulting in crying/fighting. Nobody seemed to be in control... Lots off angry customers. I waited for about 20 minutes after we were seated and finally gave up. I couldnt even find anyone to ask to help for service. This place has a good menu, but there are much more reliable options for brunch nearby. Recommend avoiding this place for now.

It is a strange little place, the bakery side is super bright and comfy, while the other side is very very cozy but really dark. It doesnt seem like a place for brunch at all. The biscuit and gravy is super good as other suggested, and I had a tomato pesto mozzarella sandwich and thats good too. The fries might be disappointing for people looking for crispy fries, but for me who loves soft fries it was ok, it was a little heavy on salt.
