100% vegan, warm and welcoming, the friendliest coffeeshop in town, cozy atmosphere, an amazing and colorful array of creative baked goods of all kinds - cupcakes, scones, donuts, cookies, cakes, childhood favorite treats, pesto pretzels, cinnamon rolls, etc, featured local vendor treats, a varied drink menu with house-made milks like coconut, hemp, almond, etc, a variety of sandwiches like bbq jackfruit, "eggy" salad sandwich and Beyond Meat on foccascia, vegan mac n cheeze, and fresh pressed juices from next door. A designated gluten-free kitchen and gf items, and the owners are really wonderful, genuine people. Free internet with many outlets available. And the BEST porch and people watching in all of W. 39th or Westport. Whats not to love!!

I cant say enough good things about this coffeehouse & bakery! I love the coconut milk lattes, theyre my favorite in all of Kansas City. The GF scones are SO great, also my favorite GF baked good in the City. I had Mud Pie cater my cupcakes for my wedding and they did a phenomenal job! They looked awesome and tasted even better! Its still one of the biggest talking points when I talk to one of my guests from that day. The Peanut Butter chocolate and Mocha Espresso were the best, but all were EXCELLENT!!

Absolutely unbelievable. Im a vegan and make it my mission to try any and everything vegan approved to minimize my need for cooking- especially baking. I went in and bought essentially one of everything and proceeded to eat EVERYTHING. The most mouth watering deserts ever. Their ding dongs OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG legitimately I slid off my couch. I was doing good and lost a lot of weight going vegan but singlehandedly this place will destroy that. I need it all. Every. Day.

Frequent customer. Love the food, and a great place to get work done, if you want to stay inside. My only complaint is the amount of smoking on the patio. I have asthma, and being around much smoke does terrible things for me, and while I dont expect them to completely get rid of smoking on their patio it would be nice if people were not chain smoking while Im trying to enjoy a nice afternoon. Ive had to take my business elsewhere because I cant relax if I cant breathe.

A very welcoming and unique vegan bakery and coffee house in Kansas City, MO. The pastries were packed with flavor. I watched as a baker rolled out dough for a donut while waiting for one of the best scones Ive ever had get heated up (Ive eaten a lot of scones!). The building is a two-bedroom house painted bright yellow, sitting next to Exile Tattoo. You dont have to be vegan to enjoy this family run bakery.

A friend and myself stopped at this quaint little bakery for a late breakfast and boy was it awesome! I got a latte macchiato and a pumpkin sheet cake and a coconut bar. All of the food was fresh baked that morning and my beverage was piping hot with a nice later of foam and spice. If you are digging for a great breakfast locale, then give this bakery and coffeehouse a try.

Always friendly staff super welcoming. I honestly dont think its that expensive no more than any usual coffee chain I actually spend less at mudpie than I do at Starbucks. I really appreciate that everything is vegan so I can eat it all! I love the location o love the food and the atmosphere I drive twenty minutes just to come here:) love you guys!

My only concern is a report of excessive use of canola oil which is known to be questionable in the health food world. I try 2 only eat vegan organic and non-GMO. Thanks visual goodies on Facebook for the heads up and the great artwork. Coffees great food is great going to make sure that the ingredients are as great otherwise nice spot.

Repellent Excellent coffee selection, amazing pastries that I always purchase more than I had intended to. Free WiFi is great and helps those of use who like to work in a laid back atmosphere. I take all my vegan and gluten free friends here and I, as a total omnivore, always find something utterly delicious to munch on.

The cafe is in an old historic home and feels just as cozy. There are four separate dining rooms with varying decor from cafe tables and chairs to couches, recliners, and coffee tables. The coffee is fairly high quality and very reasonably priced. On top of it all, they have an excellent assortment of vegan baked goods.

Mud Pie. The name says it all indeed does it not? It is safe to say that this fine establishment is making the global impact more than a topic by aiding everything from the filtration of fossil emissions from our lives to the very land itself benefitting from the leavings of traditional sustenance made accessible. ^_^

Great coffee shop both community emvironment and consumables. They do have a kids area so you can belring your kids, they will be entertained, and not be distracting to other guests. They also have an outdoor patio as well. They are vegan, and they make many of their own milk substitutes. Even love it as a non-vegan.

Sanduiche muito bom! Ambiente aconchegante e agradável. Atendimento padrão que poderia ser um pouco melhor mas não prejudica a experiência

This place may be vegan, but Im not and I always love going here anyway. Their drinks are very, very well made and they have an awesome assortment of baked goodies for any sweet tooths out there. They usually make a few gluten free items as well and I think Ive seen dog treats in there before. <3

Took 20 min for the barista to make a drink for the woman in front of us. I think he asked her what she wanted 4x...granted, she changed her mind twice, brought her own stevia, and had a hello kitty credit card. So not sure who was more at fault there. Not good if you dont have a time surplus.

Awesome people and the food was very tasty. Had a raspberry crumble, lemon bar and cheddar sausage (all vegan) scone and they were all excellent. Warm atmosphere, quiet enough for study or reading but lively enough to be entertaining just people watching. Comfortable and reasonably priced! A+

The Mostess cupcake & banana muffins rock! Coffee is alright, not my top fav but a good non-dairy latte nonetheless. I wish the t-shirts were a little cheaper. Suuuper limited parking and long weekend lines but if you have a need for a damned good vegan baked good, its well worth it!

I am non vegan. Stopped in here for my vegan nieces bday to get her a treat. I just had to review to say how VERY good the cupcakes were. I was extremely impressed. Way better than any non vegan cupcakery Ive tried in town so far! I will definitely be going back. Yum!

Everything is vegan, usually 4-5 gluten free items when I visit. My only complaint is I dont get downtown often enough & you never know what they will have available on any particular day & time. Love the Mostess the best, but also love the kolaches!!

Both sweet and savory pastries better than non-vegan. Best gluten free. Great service. More milk alternatives you thought possible. Plenty of drinks for kids and non-coffee drinkers. Lots of work space, plenty of outlets, and tables for large groups.

The place was great. The gentleman who made my mocha put some art into the foam and I have to say that is what separates the hand crafted from the mass produced as far as I am concerned. The cookies were great too and the atmosphere is awesome.
