Amazing. Simply amazing. This was my first fine-dining experience, and I was blown away. The service and the food were both incredible. The menu is definitely on the pricey side, but the quality makes up for it. The average entree is about $28. We tried the Gruyere Souffle (appetizer), Filet Mignon, Almond-Crusted Trout, and their Chocolate Mousse for dessert. All were simply fantastic - I highly recommend each of the mentioned dishes. The service was also impressive. They will take your coat before you sit down and bring you a roll before your appetizer comes. They present you with the proper silverware for each part of the meal, as well. The staff was also notable for being courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive (our glasses never went empty). If youre looking for a romantic, upscale place to enjoy astounding French food, then stop looking. Go to Bar Les Frères. You will not regret it.

I love this restaurant! The atmosphere is so chic, from the red walls and antique portraits to the black and gold bread plates. The food is even better. My favorite dish (in winter, at least) is the cassoulet - probably one of the heartiest, best French dishes Ive ever had, period, and Ive lived in France. (Although, the sausage was a tad overcooked the last time I went, a minor complaint.) The gougeres and the lobster bisque are also highly recommended. The service is great, and the waiters are knowledgeable about the food and, perhaps more importantly, the wine. They make great recommendations. This restaurant is great for a date night, but definitely book a reservation because its small and fills up fast!

Went here with my fiancé to celebrate my new job! The ambiance was otherworldly, as if we had been transported to another time period. We split the pâté (difficult to eat gracefully, just a warning), I had duck confit, and he had filet mignon. We both agreed that the duck was best! The filet was too salty, but his scalloped potatoes were to die for. For dessert, the chocolate mousse was delicious, with a surprising orange kick. The wine was fantastic, although to my (very inexperienced) palate, not significantly better than any $20 bottle. Overall, this place is well worth the splurge for a special dinner!

Dined here once before and enjoyed it so came back for my wifes birthday dinner. We were seated at a table right by the door, so she had to keep her coat on as it was cold. The small wooden chair was uncomfortable for my pregnant wife with back pain and staff told us they could not get us a different chair despite empty cushioned chairs available at other tables. We ended up leaving due to the poor table and lack of accommodation for a pregnant woman on her birthday. Apparently making a reservation in advance and noting a birthday meal does not result in a nice, comfortable table or accommodating service.

Husband and I went here last night for our anniversary. Wonderful experience. Customer service exceeded both our expectations. Our waiter who was also the bartender had a great demeanor and was very helpful in recommendations from drinks to the menu. Ambiance was romantic and comfortable. Lobster bisque is the best we both had tasted. Highly recommend!!!!.

Upscale dining set in Napoleons study. The styling and service really set this place apart in my opinion. A cozy eccentric layout made for a unique experience. The fine dining was delightful and the beer and cocktail selection was also unique for the saint Louis area.

Was enjoying dinner for my Husbands birthday. I got app & salad so when my entree came I tasted, was full, & boxed to take home for lunch. When I got home....someone elses left over app was in box. Very disappointed! Too late to go back.

One of our favorite places in the St. Louis region. Amazing food and drinks. The scallops, the duck confit, vieux carre, and the chocolate mousse are must haves, just like everything else. Ask about the bone marrow louge.

My main dish was so salty, I could barely eat it. Appetizers and desert were OK. A little disappointing over all.
