Whatever you try, do not try their steaks! Our party of four decided to go and celebrate New Years Eve and have a nice dinner. Two of us had the drunk and dirty Sirloin. I asked how big the Sirloin was as I thought it was strange that they wouldnt list it on the menu and our waiter looked down to the floor as said 7 oz. I thought that was way over priced at $20 for a 7 oz steak? But, we tried it anyway and thought it had to be really good. Boy were we in for a surprise! The steak came to us and looked really dry. We figured it came with a whiskey sauce, but no, it was just marinaded in a whiskey sauce. First bite was dry and totally bland. I right away asked for any type of sauce I could put on there and he brought out the steak butter sauce which made the steak taste a lot better. Without it I would have sent the steak back. We ordered it Medium and the steak was more med - well but I didnt send it back as I was hungry and didnt feel like waiting for another 30 min. The roasted potatoes were great, only if they were cooked all the way through. They must have mixed a batch of newer potatoes with fully cooked once. 3/4 of them were under cooked and about 1/4 of them fully cooked and delicious. Overall, not worth $20. My fiancee wanted the drunk and dirty Sirloin as well but changed his mind after he heard it was only 7 oz. He asked if there was a bigger steak and the waiter mentioned the Ribeye. My fiancee does not like Ribeyes due to the marbling/fat in there. So I mentioned their holiday feature of Blackened Kansas City Strip. It was $33 but at least it was 14 oz and a strip (so we thought). When he received the streak, I knew right a way he wasnt going to like it. This steak came with bone in it and looked like a Ribeye to me. He ate it but was very unhappy about it. He said it was tough and he had a hard time cutting it. It was full of grizzle and fat. At the end we asked the waiter if he received the right steak as I looked at the description and it was mentioned as a strip, blackened and with onions on top. His steak was not blackened, didnt come with onions and was not a strip. The waiter mentioned it was the right streak, a bone in Ribeye. We looked at each other and said, well, if would have known that, he wouldnt have ordered it. He doesnnt like Ribeye steak. Your ad is totally misleading. The ad doesnt say anything about bone or Ribeye. Just states 14 oz strip steak. Needless to say we were all disappointed with our dinner experience and will never be back. Maybe they are good at the rest of their food, but stay away from their steaks. We thought fire grilled steaks would be great, but they are way over priced for what you get. Texas Roadhouse, you are still our best Steak place. Dont waste your time in this restaurant!

I have been going to Axels Bonfire in Woodbury for a number of years. It used to be a great place to go, but it has gone terribly downhill every since they were bought by the Burger King that is a block away. They cut the food portions in half, but they raised the prices. The food quality is mediocre. The service used to be great, but now you will be lucky to see your server more than twice from the time you sit down. They will give you coupons to make sure you return to spend more money. The only reason I ever go there anymore is for their martinis. They give you the shaker, so you basically get two drinks for the price of one. If you are looking for a good meal in Woodbury, or a place to propose to your fiancee, try the other Axels restaurant in the Prestwick Golf Club clubhouse. It is called Axels. There is no Bonfire in the name. They are still owned by the original Axel. This is about as classy a place as they come. They are the epitome of the Axels reputation for outstanding atmosphere, service, food, and drinks.

Went here at noon on a Tuesday and had the slowest service ever. It wasnt even busy. I dont usually take the time out of my day to write negative reviews...but I felt like i needed to say something. So heres how it goes...we get there, get seated, order drinks which take over 5 minutes to get. Then she asks if we are ready to order...we order our food and it took over 35 minutes to get it. Then we needed something during the meal and she didnt come back for the longest time. Our waitress was over by the bar talking to other workers, etc... then she saw us looking at her and finally asked if we needed something else. At the end of the meal she tried to kiss our butts and you could tell. She must have sensed we were agitated. I wouldnt take the time to write this but funny that it was a Tuesday around noon and it took that long. I can see it being a weekend but in this case I was pretty irritated. And not to mention, the food really isnt that special for the price. First and last time going here.

We were told this place was excellent so we decided to try it out being new in town. There was an hour wait so we sat at the bar instead. Our service was pretty good, but the food wasnt. My husband got bacon wrapped steak medallions with green beans and wild rice pilaf. The bacon on the edges of the medallions wasnt cooked all the way. And the wild rice pilaf had cranberries in it that gave it a really bad taste. I got a margherita pizza, it was just okay. Mostly really bland and the tomatoes werent very good. Over all our food didnt taste seasoned, wasnt very good and it was over priced. Probably wont go back.

Sadly, we went on the first day of their significantly trimmed menu. While they retained a number of the traditional favorites, they also got rid of several of the items that helped make them a go to restaurant. I suppose thats to be expected from one thats become a rather large local chain, but it is still disappointing. We wont give up yet, as its likely theyll readjust, but dropping the sixteen items they did made sure they got rid of some of our family favorites. So, beware, check the menu, calzones gone, several pizzas gone, some sandwich changes, no blackened grouper.

Better than average hotel restaurant! This place is the resident watering hole/feeding ground for the Hampton Inn next door. We called ahead at 9:50pm when they stop serving full menu at 10pm and said we would bring our group of 12 people in. When we arrived it was just past ten and although they said at first, "happy hour menu only", the head chef extended the entire menu to us after we were settled in. Food was above average and our servers were very accommodating. Wall-eye fajitas and spicy pepperoni pizza recommended!

We drove quite a ways to see GB Leighton. He was great. The restaurant was fair. We ordered quesidillas and felt they were premade and sitting in kitchen a while. Waitress never once asked to refill our drinks. We would have ordered more cocktails but never were they offered. Before we were done eating the waitress gave us our bill and then maybe 2 minutes later came and asked if bill was ready to be paid. There were no people waiting for tables so not sure what the hurry was to get us to leave.
