I have one, and only one complaint. You cant eat there, its just a small to go restaurant. But you will not find better sandwiches anywhere. Theres ususally specials Tuesday through Thursday, breakfast burritos, egg bakes, omelettes, salads, a great selection of pasta, different soups everyday, some of the best bacon Ive ever had, great service personal, and everything customized just how you want it. Theres also a unique assortment of candy, chips, cheese, and drinks. Too many to go into here. The price is on par with the average sandwich restaurant, but the quality is leagues ahead. Its a restaurant you simply must go to. Just going there will make you feel awesome.

This deli is inconsistent. First, the sandwich makers should be wearing gloves when making food. When I first started going here the sandwiches were not bad but later they used less and less meat. It would be balled up in the middle and they use plenty of veggies and cheese but scrimp on the meat. Also, dont order grilled cheese its horrible. How do you mess up a grilled cheese? The salads are ok but there were times I got a salad and it didnt taste that good. The check out line gets too long and they have one person scrambling. That is irritating. Overpriced and inconsistent so undecided not to go there anymore.

The sandwiches are huge and the price is great! The also have a salad bar where you can pick your own ingredients and they will toss it for you. They just added a hot dog/brat bar as well. I am excited to try the Chicago dog and Conney dog for lunch today! Its also the only place other than gas stations and grocery stores that I have found you can get a diet Dr. Pepper with your lunch. If you havent tried this place, make sure to go! The only down side the parking lot is fairly small, so make sure to go either before or after the noon hour to avoid parking issues/long lines.

The service has really gone downhill. Its true that the sandwiches and salads and all the food is fresh and delicious--really outstanding. Plus they did a beautiful renovation and the value for the price is great. But Ive been going here for years and have sadly seen the service really decline. It used to be a pleasant place to go and now its rare to receive friendly service. Its like customers are bothering the workers, especially if you have a make-your-own salad. I hope that this can change because it really is a fantastic place in all other areas.

I used to loooovvvveeee coming here, it was my little treat from time to time, driving 30min never seemed too far. However the last 3x have been worst and worst. I kept going back like maybe someone was just having a bad day, maybe they were just too busy to care that day... But i think Im done, not sure if its new owners or the children of the owners or what but its DIFFERENT i like my melty cheese on top, not in the middle of the meat, i like it juicy, cheesy, Ill just stop... Low key i was in my feelings i just couldnt give a 1 though

Cheese is great, Gluten Free bread is not so much. As much as I appreciate Nelson creating a GF option for folks like me, its just not functional bread. It comes in little bricks, of which they have to use FOUR to make a sandwich. Consequently its an absolute mess and not really worth your effort. The ingredients however are delicious and Ill keep coming here for salad and cheeses.

In 2750 BCE the gods descended from Mount Olympus and bestowed upon Nelson Cheese and Deli the holiest recipe for Egg Salad. Created with the flash of a lightning bolt, and accompanied by humankinds most vast selection of carbonated nectars, sweet confections, and crunchable creations, this feast was enjoyed by all. We will be returning soon to worship.

Great meats, cheeses, and sandwiches. Sandwiches range from veggie to cajun chicken to barbeque to New York-style. A decent selection of pasta sides to complement the sandwiches. The ice cream makes a wonderful dessert. No dine-in capability, so dont expect to grab a table and sit for a while. Highly recommend.

Huge selection of super fresh ingredients, and they sure dont skimp on the meats and cheese. But the best part is the price, their sandwiches are cheaper than a comparable Subway sandwich and taste a thousand times better. A must-stop for lunch and perfect for taking to picnic at Como Park.

Best sandwich in the area. They have great salads, hot and cold sandwich selection, hot dogs, you name it! Also if you come into the restaurant, they have a great selection of cheeses, deli salads, chocolate, desserts, old time sodas, and an entire case of root beer! Get the Manhattan!

Everything is of the highest quality. I love the soda and chips collection as well. There is more to buy than just cheese and meats...Theres plenty of snacks as well from gummies to chocolate covered pretzels. Definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for a good sandwich.

Greatest salad and sandwich place ever. Staff is unfailingly polite and helpful. Nelsons has provided business meeting luncheons for me for 100+ people, and everything was done with care and concern to get the order correct and delivered promptly. Cant say enough good about Nelsons.

Nelsons has one of the best salad bars Ive seen. They have several hot and cold sandwiches that are fab. (Additionally, they now have GF bread!). For those of you with quirky tastes, they have nearly 20 types of gourmet (and novelty) sodas. Oh yeah, they also have cheese...

The sandwiches are great! I highly recommend the New Orleans. Ask for it with Bacon. The salads are delicious and everything is made in house! The cheeses are great too! The chip and soda selection rounds out lunch very effectively. The place does good catering too!

Awesome place. The sandwiches are spectacular. Lunchtime is BUSY, so get there early. Salad bar is FOR SURE one of the best in the twin cities. Food is fresh and staff as a GENUINE sense of urgency. Refreshing. One star deduction for no seating.

This is thee place to go for a sandwich! I cannot vouch for anything other than the sandwiches, but I give this place my best possible recommendation. Ive tried nearly all sandwiches without ham, and loved them all.

Amazing sandwiches for all tastes, fresh, delicious salad choices with all the garnishments one could fathom. Busy during peak hours but solid customer service and reasonable prices. Definitely a lunch favorite!

I think its worth noting that the soda selection alone is worth a visit, but other than that, the sandwiches are great and big enough that I can save half for later if I eat them with chips. Cool staff as well.

Great place to stop for sandwiches for a picnic in Como Park. Reasonable prices on a variety of sandwiches, salads, desserts and beverages. The line can be intimidating at lunchtime, but it moves quickly.
